00:00I now give the floor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, His Excellency
00:06Mr. Gideon Saar.
00:08You have the floor.
00:11Thank you, Mr. President.
00:13We heard the heartbreaking testimony of Eli, brother of the hostage, Eviatar David, starved
00:22by Hamas.
00:25I want to thank the U.S. and other countries for answering our call.
00:30Thank you for convening this urgent and important meeting of the U.N. Security Council.
00:38But we also heard here so many lies, I cannot refer to them all, but it was really funny
00:49to hear Russian Federation representative after three years and a half of a brutal invasion
00:57and brutal war in Ukraine and bombardments on civilian population in Kiev and other places
01:05speaking here.
01:07The way he spoke.
01:08I also heard the Palestinian representative.
01:13I must say the Palestinians learned propaganda from you, from the Soviet era, and you were
01:21good teachers.
01:25The Palestinians invented terrorism as a way to promote their means, and it includes all
01:36Palestinians fractions.
01:39And until this very day, the Palestinian Authority continued to pay salaries to terrorists and
01:47terrorist families accordingly to the crime the terrorists committed.
01:54And this is how they encouraged terrorism until this very day.
02:02You spoke about peace.
02:05From 1947, you had countless opportunities to reach peace.
02:12You rejected them all.
02:16I come here today as the Foreign Minister of the State of Israel, the sovereign state of
02:21the Jewish people, fighting for its existence for almost two years on seven different fronts.
02:29I am here today because our hostages are still there, starved, tortured by Hamas and Islamic
02:36Jihad in the dungeons of Gaza.
02:41On October 7th, Hamas invaded with no reason into Israel.
02:47It committed evil crimes like the Nazis and ISIS did.
02:52They murdered and raped women, killed children in front of their parents and parents in front
02:58of their children.
03:00They beheaded people, burned whole families alive, took 251 hostages into cruel captivity.
03:10Many of them are still there, starved and tortured.
03:16I want to read from the Dina Project report.
03:18This report describes Hamas sickening sexual crimes and atrocities committed on October 7th.
03:25And since then, bodies were found with objects inserted into their private parts.
03:33Bodies of naked women were found cuffed onto trees.
03:39Bodies were found with signs of gentle mutilation.
03:45Most of the sexuality assaulted women were among the 1,166 murdered of that day.
03:57After they were raped, they were murdered.
04:01They are forever silenced.
04:04But sexual violence continued for those taken in captivity.
04:08Hamid Sustana was released from Hamas cruel captivity.
04:13She described bravely how she was forced at gunpoint to commit a sexual act on her capture.
04:23This is the pure evil that Israel faces.
04:29Hamas crimes are still ongoing.
04:32This past weekend, the whole world witnessed the cruel starvation of Avyata David and Rom
04:38Praslavsky, tortured at the hands of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.
04:45The world saw their terrible condition, bones standing out in their skin like living scatlands, looking
04:55death in their eye.
05:01Avyata was forced to dig his own grave.
05:08You just heard, you just heard his brother, Eli.
05:16Hamas and Islamic Jihad use the starvation and torture of hostages as evil tools.
05:23It's part of a deliberate and well-planned sadistic propaganda campaign.
05:30Its goals, one, psychological terror, second, an attempt to create a link between our starved
05:40hostages and their blood libel against Israel.
05:45But it's a campaign of lies.
05:49Israel facilitated huge amounts of aid into Gaza since the beginning of the war.
05:55In an unprecedented way, in the history of wars, and by the way, the quantities are growing
06:02every day, if you follow that.
06:08Yad is still accused of starvation.
06:12But the truth must be told.
06:15Hamas sadistically starves our hostages while the tourists enjoy meat, fish and vegetables.
06:22And we saw the brother of Avyata demonstrated that with the photo of the well-fed terrorist
06:32with Avyata in his terrible condition.
06:39And you all saw the thick, meaty arm of the well-fed terrorist next to Avyata, the living
06:45skeleton forced to dig his own grave.
06:50We are facilitating huge amounts of aid into Gaza.
06:56No other country acts this way in war, on such a large scale, under such difficult circumstances.
07:04But Hamas loots the aid and uses it as a financial tool.
07:10We hadn't heard a word about that from the Palestinian representative.
07:15The distorted Hamas terrorists cruelly decide if and what the hostages will eat.
07:22Mainly what they will not eat.
07:25Avyata spoke of entire days when he did not eat at all.
07:32Our sick and stopped hostages still have not seen representatives of the Red Cross until today,
07:40despite this being explicitly agreed upon in the hostage deal in November 2023.
07:48The medicine they desperately need to survive has not reached them.
07:55While the terrorists, the murderers being held in Israeli prisons, received medical care and nutrition,
08:03Hamas and Islamic Jihad torture our hostages.
08:09Terrorist states and organizations kidnapping civilians is not just our problem.
08:17But Hamas did it on a huge scale on October 7.
08:22These terror states and organizations do so in order to ensure their own survival and interests.
08:29Terrorists inhumanly kidnap innocent civilians as tools to achieve their goals.
08:35In the case of Hamas, they tried to force upon us their conditions remaining in power in Gaza.
08:45And don't elude yourself.
08:47They don't care that someone else will take responsibility on civil issues, civilian issues,
08:54taking care of the ruins they left behind in Gaza.
08:58They want to stay the strongest military force to continue the war against Israel and its civilians.
09:05This dangerous phenomenon could happen tomorrow anywhere in the world.
09:11The world must put an end to the kidnapping of civilians.
09:16The international community must take it.
09:19Not worthwhile for the terrorists.
09:22Today it's Israel.
09:24Tomorrow it's you.
09:26The world has been turned upside down while Hamas run its propaganda machine.
09:33A huge part of the international media is both ignoring the truth and buying its lies.
09:41I read the New York Times the day after Hamas released the distorted video of Aviatar David.
09:49I looked but could not find Aviatar on the front page.
09:56And then I couldn't find his picture in all of the paper.
10:01I call on the international media.
10:04Put Aviatar and Rome front and center.
10:09Is this not newsworthy?
10:13We are witnessing an upside down world.
10:17We are witnessing the twisted anti-Israeli agenda of so much of the global media.
10:24They shift their responsibility.
10:27From the kidnappers and rapists to the attacked country.
10:32They shift the blame from terrorists to the victims.
10:37Instead of standing by Israel, you are blaming the victims.
10:42The victims of an attack from seven different fronts.
10:47And I ask here at the United Nations Security Council, do you know what Secretary General Gutierrez tweeted
10:56after the horrible images of Aviatar in Rome were released?
11:03What a word, deafening silence.
11:10Yet we all see his endless and obsessive tweets against Israel, time and again.
11:17Ladies and gentlemen, what we are witnessing today is the rise of psychotic anti-Semitism around
11:25the world flamed by modern blood libels like darkest days in history.
11:33Jews are hunted around the world simply because they are Jews in Melbourne, in Amsterdam, in Paris.
11:43But it is not the only war on earth, but it is the only case.
11:53People are being hunted everywhere because of their nationality.
11:59Do you know of another nation fighting for its life and suffering around the world from
12:04hostility and violence?
12:06We are living in an upside down world.
12:09A world in which Israel is put on a bench of the accused while it fights for its survival.
12:19There is a name for it.
12:21It's called anti-Semitism.
12:25Eighty years after the end of the Holocaust, anti-Semitism is having its golden age once again.
12:33There are countries that acted, even in this building, to pressure Israel instead of Hamas during
12:40sensitive days in the negotiations.
12:47They directly contributed to the assassination of the chances to reach a hostage deal and ceasefire.
12:58They prolonged this war.
13:00This is what they did.
13:03So now let us ask the simplest questions.
13:08Who initiated the war on October 7th?
13:11Who is responsible for its continuation?
13:14For the endless suffering?
13:16There is only one clear answer, Hamas.
13:22Hamas invaded Israel and committed the October 7th atrocities.
13:26Hamas still refuses to release the starving hostages from its dungeons.
13:32Hamas still refuses to lay down its arms.
13:37The call on Hamas to release our hostages must be front and center on the world stage.
13:43It must not stop until they all come home.
13:51Mr. President, we call for the immediate and unconditional release of our hostages.
13:59We call on the UN Security Council to finally condemn Hamas for its evil crimes, to hold it
14:07responsible, and to demand the immediate release of all our hostages.
14:17I thank His Excellency Minister Saar for the statement.
14:22And I now give the floor to the representative of Argentina.
14:26You have the floor.
14:29Good afternoon to you all.
14:31Greetings to all of our colleagues and also to Mr. Miroslav Jentje, as well as the Minister
14:38of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Gideon Saar.
14:40Allow me also, Mr. President, to express my country's congratulations.
