00:25How did they go from making games like this to this?
00:28Well, first, we need to go right back to the beginning.
00:32Konami was founded in 1969 by Kagamasa.
00:36Kozuki and the company's first product was an arcade game called Poker,
00:41considering the events that will unfold later in the company's life.
00:45It's almost eerie how their very first product was a gambling game.
00:49The 70s were pretty tame for the company, though.
00:52They mostly just released arcade games like Space Fortress,
00:56which would go on to inspire the likes of Galaga,
00:59and also the nest port of Donkey Kong.
