Lipstick Queen's new Hello Sailor lipstick is navy blue in the tube, our senior beauty editor Megan McIntyre readily admitted that if she saw this hue at the beauty counter, she'd run the other way. Despite her misgivings, we managed to convince her to give it a try on camera, and now we can't get her to give the lipstick back to us, even though we've asked. Repeatedly.

Want to find out just why she's got a lockdown on this lipstick? Check out today's Beauty Test Lab video to see what your lips will look like in the navy, and then tell us: Would you ever try a cray-cray color on your lips, or are you strictly a classics kind of girl?

00:04Hey guys, it's Megan, Senior Beauty Editor at Refinery29, and I'm here in the Beauty
00:08Test Lab today trying out Lipstick Queen's new Hello Sailor Lipstick. This is capitalizing
00:13on the nautical trend. It is a blue lipstick, bear with me. The brand claims that it gives
00:20you a kind of wine-ish berry pout, but to me this looks full-on navy blue. Now me personally,
00:27if I saw this on the shelf, I would not pick it up. I'd probably look at it funny and
00:31be
00:31like, ha ha, but I wouldn't actually think it's something I could wear. So I'm going to
00:35try to get over that today and give it a go and see if it's actually wearable. It's very
00:40sheer and it's very creamy. It has a vitamin E formula, so it feels more like a balm than
00:46a lipstick. I'm noticing some blue tint, but I'm really actually surprised. It's nowhere
00:52near as pigmented as I thought it was going to be. But I did notice that my lips look pinker.
00:56It was more of a naturally brightened, flushed appearance to my lips. This is available exclusively
01:02at Barneys New York starting this month. It's $25. So if you're looking for a cool treatment
01:08for summer, this could be a great thing to pick up.
