00:13I'm Serena, and today I'm going to try to attempt to cut my own hairstyle.

00:21My inspiration is Diana Agron, like a red carpet look,
00:24and she had this really fun, short, like, bang cut,
00:27and it sounds terrifying, and I'm going to do it.
00:30So I was thinking I loved the Selena Gomez Met Gala look that she just wore.
00:35It was kind of like a lob. It was longer in the front, cut shorter in the back.
00:39And it's brown, so double whammy,
00:41and I'm going to get to wear this outside in the real world.
00:44I'm pretty excited. I'm a little nervous.
00:46I think giving myself a new look and going blonde is going to be really interesting.
00:50I do think blondes have more fun, but I'm willing to, you know, test it out.
00:54I think my game plan today is just going to take all the length off.
00:57I got a good, like, eight inches I'm going to clear off.

01:02I don't have one. Let's give her a name. Her name is Dorinda.
01:06So I kind of feel like this is, like, adult Barbie time, and I'm loving it.
01:11So Dorinda, like, has a lot of hair unlike me.

01:26It's very uneven.

01:40because there's going to be a new girl sitting at my desk.

01:47So I don't mind what's happening up here.

01:51I'm trying to do a little bit of a stacking thing
01:53so then I can, like, chop it up and, like, style it all like Diane.

01:57I'm going to make it so it kind of, like, looks more cohesive.

02:09Wow, I can't actually believe I'm going to wear this, but I'm down.

02:26And now I feel like Serena is going to have this, like,
02:29rock and bob or something.
02:36So, how do I look?
02:38I feel tre chic and terrified.

02:50Honestly, I'm down.

02:57Okay, it's a little uneven for sure, but, like, I feel like it's just, it doesn't look that bad.
03:03I am not ready to wear this the entire day.
03:07I'm actually a little terrified.
03:08I don't think I'm going to feel self-conscious because if I own it, then the rest of the world
03:12will love it.
03:13But that being said, I feel like people are going to be like, why are you wearing a wig?
03:20And what are you doing?
03:21A lot of gasping and screaming and loud, high-pitched noises.
03:25I'm going to go get a coffee.
03:27I might update my Tinder photo.
03:29And honestly, I'm just so excited to be the center of attention all day.
03:33So, I've gone most of the day wearing this, and it's a little itchy, but I'm actually really, I'm really
03:40into it.
03:41So, I decided to put on some glasses because I realized that I look a little like my mom.
03:48Hey, mom.
03:49Hey.
03:49People, first off, think it's real, which I think that's pretty badass.
03:53And then, second off, like, not only is the cut working for me, but people are saying the color is
03:58working.
03:59And I think that's, that's really, you know, reassuring since I really wasn't sure what I was getting myself into.
04:04I've been at work for a couple of hours, and surprisingly, amazing reactions.
04:09Only two people were like, I don't like that.
04:11And I'm just like, okay, well, I do, so...
04:15Don't we look like to win?
04:18Gonna keep rocking this all day, and I got some places to be after work, and I think I'm gonna
04:23just keep it on and own it.
04:24We'll see.
04:25It's almost the end of the day with my new hairstyle.
04:27I feel like I, like, kind of took on a persona, you know, with the glasses, which I normally don't
04:33wear.
04:33And then I did, like, jean on denim jeans, which I would, like, never wear a Canadian tuxedo.
04:38So that's cool.
04:39Okay, so now I'm really getting into it.
04:41And I found this yellow pillow, and I'm just kind of now owning this whole blonde yellow vibe.
04:47Okay, the more I wear it, the more I'm never gonna take this off.
04:53So the haircut didn't come out quite as I expected it to.
04:55I'm no expert, even though you might think I am.
04:58And honestly, I loved it.
05:00I'm absolutely gonna do it again.
05:01It wasn't too itchy, it was totally manageable.
05:04And the way that this, the wig sat on my hair, you could kind of see my roots, so it
05:08looked really, really natural.
05:10The biggest challenge was actually getting the wig on.
05:13I don't have a lot of experience with wigs, so, like, trying to hold it at my forehead, and then,
05:17like, kind of gluing it and tucking it and keeping my hair up.
05:20That was definitely a challenge, but once I got it, it just sat perfectly and felt really natural.
05:25It was a little uncomfortable at times, but it was worth it, because I looked fabulous.
05:29My biggest takeaway was that, okay, maybe I'm not a hairstylist, but it was so fun to change around and
05:33play with my identity and try a different look for a day.
05:36I had such a positive reaction from my teammates and other employees that it just really was, like, this boost
05:42of confidence, and I think I'm gonna just start leaving it at my desk.
05:45And then if I have a bad day, I'm gonna throw it on and just kind of, like, strut my
05:49stuff around the office.
