00:24I love Beth's look, and I think that it's a chic,
00:27sophisticated look, and I'm so excited to try it.
00:30I think that having a unique look gives you a sense of self,
00:35and I think, especially during the pandemic,
00:38sitting at home and being unemployed,
00:40I think having a new look will give me some motivation
00:43to put myself out there and try new things.
00:46I have had blunt brunette bangs, I've had teal hair,
00:50I've had hair extensions, and this is the first time
00:53I've done a red tone, and I'm super excited
00:55to see how it'll look on me.

01:13Maya has long hair, so first I'm going to pre-cut her hair
01:15just to knock a lot of the length out.
01:19Right now, she has long hair, so I kind of feel like
01:21that covers her up a little bit.
01:23I feel like going the shorter length and adding the cream
01:25is going to open her up, and it's going to give her an overall amazing look.
01:31We're going to cut it a little longer because she has a natural wave into her hair,
01:35and she also wants to be able to wear it straight and textured.
01:47Today, we are going to take Maya to a really luscious bright copper bob.
01:53We're going to start by doing an all-over color on Maya, nice and rich at the root,
01:57so that it's not too light.
02:00After a full color, we're going to go through and balayage some really subtle,
02:05sun-kissed bits through her hair, just something a couple shades lighter,
02:08so it's not two-dimensional or too contrasty.
02:11We just wanted to make it look really natural and like she's a natural ginger in the sun.
02:17So after we get the color all on her head, we're going to take her over,
02:21and she's going to process for 30 minutes.
02:22We'll pull all of the foils out, shampoo it really nicely.
02:25We're going to do a series of glosses on it just to make sure it's really shiny
02:28and the tone is very progressive, and then we'll shampoo it, blow-dry it, and get her hair cut.
02:36Once she's colored, she's going to come back to me and I'm going to finish the cutoff.
02:43We're going to make her bangs PC texture. She doesn't want them necessarily blunt.
02:48She likes a rock star, kind of punkish slash messy look.
02:52I think I've always done hair changes with turning points in my life,
02:56and I think now being in this kind of unknown period of my life, being unemployed,
03:01I think it's definitely the turning point where I need a hair change to push myself,
03:06put myself out there, and try something new.
