00:01Hi, I'm Kim Gold.
00:03Welcome to My Sweet Digs.
00:04Fun fact, this can stay open.
00:09How cool is that?
00:10But before I let you in, remember to subscribe.
00:13Below.
00:14Come on in.
00:17My house is about 8,500 square feet.
00:20Five bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs is my office.
00:25I built this home four years ago for $6.3 million.
00:28I live in Royal Oaks, Nincino.
00:31The area that I live in is really beautiful.
00:34It really feels like you're in the countryside.
00:37I live with my husband, Marlon, occasional three boys,
00:40and my two dogs, Poe and Otto.
00:43I've been in the fashion business for 30 years.
00:45One of the companies I co-founded is True Religion Brand Jeans.
00:50I sold that company for close to over $800 million
00:54and started building homes after that,
00:57staging, which brought me to the company that I own now,
01:01Style Union Home.
01:02So it's fashion for the home.
01:05Let me tell you about this room.
01:06It is so special.
01:07Even though no one sits in the living room anymore,
01:09I don't know why.
01:10Every single piece in here I designed and had made.
01:14These are Philippe Stark chairs I found at a museum
01:19that was selling pieces.
01:21Philippe Stark is a very famous architect.
01:22I had them reupholstered.
01:25So when I mentioned my house has a traditional feel,
01:28I would consider the mantle to be a traditional piece
01:32in a very architectural room.
01:34But what I did to make it cool and more sexy, as I call it,
01:38I have a curvature tile made.
01:40I have glass gray.
01:42And then I did the curvature tile down here to add the cohesive piece.
01:47My home style I would consider disheveled sexy, eclectic, modern,
01:53but somewhat traditional.
01:54And comfortable.
01:55And homey.
01:56And inviting.
01:57This is my mom's art who is no longer with us.
02:01She taught me that all people are equal no matter what color,
02:04where they come from.
02:05And that was how I learned that.
02:08Ooh, guys, let's go into the media room.
02:10This is my fun room.
02:12This is where we watch TV with the kids.
02:14This couch I searched high and low for.
02:18It is so comfortable.
02:20Look at this.
02:21Put it here and it stays.
02:23You can lay back on there.
02:25This here is crocodile.
02:28I was laying out the space in a way that it was cohesive,
02:31that every room is cozy.
02:33It's a destination that you feel that you want to be in each room.
02:38Relax, enjoy, have company, entertain.
02:41Let's go into my favorite room, family room.
02:43Let's go.
02:44This is where we sit.
02:45We hang out.
02:46I chose leather and wood so it would be very warm.
02:51This table, I bought it as a kitchen table.
02:54It was really high, but it wasn't big enough.
02:57So I took the legs underneath and shortened them,
03:00made it a coffee table.
03:02Behind me, yes, that's Deborah Harry.
03:05I had this put together crystal quartz.
03:08I'm all about the healing properties with crystals
03:10and things that just make you feel good.
03:12And this makes me feel really good.
03:13And it actually makes people sitting in this room feel good.
03:18Look at that.
03:19I had to go.
03:20Just kidding.
03:21So I just did this kitchen.
03:24Look at my island.
03:25This isn't wood.
03:26This is the strongest tile you can make.
03:29Because when you have kids and you entertain a lot,
03:32you got to get the strongest stuff you can.
03:34This is Chloe.
03:36Chloe's our soap dish.
03:38Style Union Home.
03:38She holds anything you want.
03:40All of the appliances and everything is custom to color.
03:43These are new.
03:44I wanted two-tone.
03:45I like two-tone.
03:47So we did chrome and black.
03:49This is, I think it's from like the 1920s.
03:52From France.
03:53It's stained.
03:54It's got water.
03:55But that's what makes it home.
03:57This is rope.
03:58How cool is this?
04:00Wait, do you see my pantry?
04:01I actually consider this messy right now.
04:04Everything is labeled.
04:06It makes for fun.
04:07Pantry.
04:08These are all my mom's teapots from all over the world.
04:11They're always here.
04:12So when I walk in, this is what I see.
04:15Let's go into my office.
04:17Every single piece is custom.
04:20This table.
04:20I looked high and low for a desk.
04:23A size that would be for me that two people
04:27or three people can sit at when we have meetings.
04:29Couldn't find it.
04:30There's two pieces together.
04:31But I found a place that does live edge wood.
04:35Less is more when it comes to offices.
04:39Nothing is cluttered.
04:40Everything has a place.
04:43And here are the first things I ever made for Style Union Home.
04:47I hand-built them.
04:49This is the dining room.
04:51I wanted a glamorous room.
04:53What I did was reupholster these chairs.
04:56The theme color throughout my house, which is blue.
04:58This wallpaper is grass cloth, which is really cool.
05:05So what that does is it tones down the room with that lighting.
05:09This is my bar.
05:10Now you can see all the tequila.
05:12I had this nine-foot round table made.
05:16We eat in here every Sunday with the kids.
05:19Who wants to see the bedroom?
05:21My bedroom is my favorite part of the home.
05:23It's a massive room.
05:24Look how thick those are.
05:27I've mixed a lot of different pieces in here and color.
05:30Now this is passed on from my great-grandmother from Russia.
05:36That's an heirloom.
05:37How cute is this seating area?
05:38Oh my God.
05:40With the poof and the little white couch.
05:44So this is my hundred-year-old fireplace.
05:51This is my master bathroom.
05:54I was looking for tile that brought me back to Europe, like hand-painted.
05:58Something that would bring me to a European spa.
06:02This is a very big sink and I love it.
06:06Which brings me to my very big tub.
06:11My shower.
06:13This is pink porcelain.
06:16Next room.
06:17Oh gosh.
06:19We love a closet, don't we?
06:21So I custom did my closet.
06:22So when girls come over and we're dressing up and we're going out, we're in a big space.
06:30This is the barbecue area.
06:32This raw edge wood table that is really a beautiful piece.
06:37So these are my beautiful pots from South Africa.
06:40They're orange and I absolutely love a splash of color.
06:44This is Poe's playground, I have to say.
06:47Poe's in there all the time.
06:53This was completely dirt.
06:55I wanted a park-like setting, a very magical setting.
06:59And in here is my garden.
07:01I've been feeding everybody since COVID with this garden.
07:04We just replanted.
07:06But there's arugula, spinach, cucumbers, chives, mint, you name it.
07:13Oh, I have aloe vera for cuts.
07:15My mom taught me that.
07:16How great is this?
07:18So the electrician is coming tomorrow.
07:21We're putting the floors down.
07:23This is going to be where all the pottery goes.
07:26For the potters.
07:27Got the glaze studio upstairs.
07:31This is our studio.
07:33This is going to be the design studio.
07:34Right now our utensils, our rolling machine.
07:37This is where all the magic happens.
07:41This is where it all goes out for shipping, Style Union Home.
07:45It's my garage for right now.
07:47This is a really great studio.
07:49And, you know, through COVID and starting a company,
07:53this is where I'm doing it.
07:55I don't have anything to say about a next house.
07:59This is my dream home.
08:00And I'm staying here.
08:03Thanks for stopping by and seeing my sweet digs.
