00:00Bluey is not just a show about a puppy and her family.
00:03It is a show that has been quietly building a detailed timeline across three seasons,
00:07jumping between the past, the present, and the future.
00:10But most people have never stopped to piece it all together.
00:13Today, we are doing exactly that.
00:15This is the complete timeline of Bluey,
00:17from the very beginning to everything we know about what comes next.
00:21Let's start before Bluey was even born,
00:23before Bandit was a dad, before Chili was a mom.
00:26They were both just kids growing up in completely different worlds.
00:29And the show has given us enough glimpses of those early years
00:32to paint a pretty clear picture.
00:34Bandit's Childhood plays out in the episode Fairy Tale,
00:37where he talks about growing up in the 1980s.
00:40And the version of Bandit we see back then is very different from the patient.
00:44Playful dad we know today.
00:45He was messy, slightly mean, and loved picking on his younger brother Stripe.
00:50He rode his bike, spent summers at the beach,
00:52and had not yet learned the most important lesson of his life,
00:55how to actually take care of someone smaller than himself.
00:58Chili's childhood is much harder.
01:01Her full name before marriage was Chili Cattle,
01:03and she grew up with a father who was a soldier,
01:05which meant he was away from home often,
01:07and a mother who was sick.
01:08In the episode Dragon, we learn that Mrs. Cattle passed away when Chili was still young.
01:13Despite all of that, Chili's father made sure she grew up strong.
01:16In season 2 episode Grandad, we see that she grew up near a swamp,
01:20learned to swim in open water,
01:22and was taught how to survive in the wilderness.
01:24Her father shaped her into the person she became,
01:26resilient, capable, and deeply loving.
01:29Now let's talk about how Bandit and Chili actually met.
01:32And this is where it gets interesting,
01:34because the answer completely depends on who you ask.
01:37Bandit's version goes all the way back to the episode Fairy Tale,
01:40set in the late 1980s at a holiday caravan park.
01:44Bandit is a kid.
01:45He gets jinxed by his brother Radley,
01:47which means he cannot speak until someone says his name.
01:50And while he is stuck in silence, he meets a young girl wearing a She-Ra costume.
01:54She guesses his name, breaks the jinx,
01:57Bandit She-Ra.
01:58And that is the moment Bandit has never forgotten.
02:02He is completely convinced that girl was Chili.
02:05Bandit has been carrying that memory around for decades.
02:07But ask Chili, and she will tell you a completely different story.
02:12According to her, they met as adults at a party in London,
02:14and her first memory of Bandit is not exactly romantic.
02:18He was picking his nose.
02:20That is the image that stayed with her from their first encounter.
02:23Despite that, they hit it off, started dating, and the rest is history.
02:28Chili has no memory of the caravan park, or the She-Ra costume, or any of it.
02:32Which means Bandit spent years thinking about a girl who had completely forgotten he existed.
02:37But the story does not stop at London.
02:40After getting together, Bandit and Chili were not ready to settle down just yet.
02:44They went backpacking through Europe and India together.
02:46You can actually see a framed photo of their backpacking days hanging on the wall of the
02:51Healer House in the episode Backpackers.
02:54It is a small detail that most people walk right past.
02:57And then comes the detail that most people miss entirely.
03:00Also revealed in the show, Bandit and Chili almost had a child before Bluey was ever born.
03:05Chili was pregnant, and she lost the baby.
03:07In the play that Bluey and Bingo perform, when Bingo has a blue balloon on her belly,
03:12it represents a baby who was never born.
03:14Joe Brum confirmed this himself.
03:16It is one of the most quietly heartbreaking details in the entire show, placed inside what
03:21looks like a funny little kid's play.
03:23And most people watch it without ever realizing what it actually means.
03:27Bluey is born sometime after that, and even then, the series had not yet started.
03:32The early years of Bluey's life exist only in memories and flashback moments scattered across
03:37the show.
03:38In the episode Bedroom, we see Chili setting up the space where Bluey and Bingo first slept,
03:43including the crib they used as babies.
03:45And in Baby Race, we learn that Bluey was actually the last of her friends to learn how
03:49to walk.
03:50She already knew Coco, Snickers, and Judo as babies.
03:53They were her very first friends before she even understood what friendship was.
03:57She eventually takes her first steps in the kitchen, walking toward Chili because she wanted
04:02a hug, which is the most Bluey thing imaginable.
04:05Two years after Bluey, Bingo arrives.
04:08There is not a huge amount of detail about Bingo's earliest years, but one thing we know
04:12is that Bandit carried her in a baby carrier vest, while Chili focused on Bluey.
04:17We see this in the episode Dad Baby.
04:19From the very beginning, Bingo had a special bond with her dad that runs through the whole
04:24series.
04:25Before the show officially begins, Bluey actually attends a different school.
04:29In the episode Bob Bilby, she mentions that she had already taken the class mascot home
04:33before, which means she was already a student under Miss Retriever before she ever joined
04:37Calypso's class.
04:38That detail is easy to miss, but it means there is a whole chapter of Bluey's early school
04:42life that the show has never fully explored.
04:45The main series begins with the episode Magic Xylophone.
04:48This is where we properly meet the Healer family for the first time.
04:52Bluey, Bingo, Bandit working from home as an archaeologist, and Chili working at the
04:57airport.
04:57Season 1 runs through more than 50 episodes and covers a huge range of emotional territory.
05:03Copycat is where Bluey learns about grief after a small bird dies.
05:07Creak is where she learns to face fear in order to grow up.
05:10And Fruit Bat is where she dreams about the thing she wants.
05:13And in that dream, Mackenzie appears.
05:15Whether that is the beginning of her feelings for him or just a coincidence is something the
05:19show leaves open.
05:20Season 2 arrives two years after the show's debut with even bigger revelations.
05:25The episode Bingo gives us a much deeper look at Bluey's little sister, her love of nature,
05:30her ability to be alone, and her fascination with bugs.
05:33And Sleepy Time, where Bingo travels through space in a dream and realizes it is time to
05:38grow up, is one of the most emotionally powerful episodes in the whole series.
05:42Season 2 also gives us one of the most emotionally heavy moments in the entire show,
05:47Bingo's hospitalization.
05:49In the episode Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound, Bingo ends up in the hospital.
05:53The show never says exactly why, but given that creator Joe Broom has spoken about his
05:57youngest daughter being hospitalized for asthma-related illness at age 3, and given that the doctor
06:02is seen listening to Bingo's lungs from her back, something doctors specifically do for
06:06respiratory problems, most fans believe Bingo was hospitalized for asthma.
06:11It is one of the most personal and emotional stories in the entire series.
06:15Season 2 is also where we learn about the lost baby through the show, and where the seeds
06:20of Bluey's future relationship with Mackenzie continue to grow quietly in the background.
06:24It is also during Season 2 that a new romance begins, one that will become very important
06:29later on.
06:30Frisky and Uncle Radley start falling for each other.
06:34It happens gradually and naturally, and it sets up one of the biggest events in the entire
06:38series.
06:39That event is the episode called The Sign, the longest episode Bluey has ever produced,
06:44and one of the most important.
06:45Frisky and Radley almost call off their wedding because of an argument, but they work through
06:49it and get married.
06:51But the wedding is not the only thing happening in this episode.
06:54Chili's older sister Brandy appears pregnant, fulfilling what had been her biggest dream.
06:58Bandit almost sells the family home to take a better archaeology job in another city, but
07:02changes his mind at the last moment, because he realizes what he would be leaving behind.
07:07And Grandpa Bob, Bandit's father, who had been missing for a long time, reappears.
07:11He had been in India.
07:12The sign resolves the storylines that had been building across the entire series, which
07:16is why it runs for over 30 minutes.
07:19It earns every second.
07:20And then comes the final episode of Season 3, Surprise!
07:23The episode that the entire fandom is still talking about.
07:26Bluey chases Bandit with a ball blaster, and then at the very end, we jump forward in time.
07:32Adult Bluey comes home to visit Bandit and Chili, and hiding behind the door, holding a ball
07:37blaster exactly the way Bluey used to, is a small puppy, Bluey's daughter.
07:41The fandom has given her the name Indigo, and from everything we can see in her design,
07:45particularly that floppy ear, Mackenzie is almost certainly her father.
07:49But the show has not confirmed it yet.
07:51What comes next is still being written.
07:54Ludo Studio has announced a Bluey movie set to release in 2027, and based on the flash
07:59forward at the end of Surprise, it seems like the story of Bluey growing up is far from over.
08:05Some fans believe the movie could bridge the gap between the Bluey we know now, and the
08:09adult Bluey we briefly saw.
08:10Others think Indigo could eventually become the new protagonist, with Bluey stepping into
08:15the role that Bandit played for her.
08:17Whether any of that happens is something only Joe Brum knows, but the timeline is there,
08:21stretching from a boy on a beach in the 1980s, all the way to a small puppy hiding behind
08:26a door with a ball blaster.
08:27And somehow, it all connects.
