00:00So look, as you can probably see, my feet have been getting absolutely cooked by these
00:08running shoes.
00:09I've had these running shoes for probably eight years, and I've had the soles in these
00:16running shoes the same amount of time.
00:20So it's easy to say it's time for an upgrade because my feet hurt so much.
00:30After I run, I'm starting to get blisters because there's now holes that are appearing
00:34inside the shoe.
00:36It feels like it's uneven on the bottom now, but I got eight years out of these things.
00:43Why, you might ask?
00:45Because I don't like change that much, and if it's not broke, don't fix it.
00:49If it hurts you a little bit, but you can suffer through, then why not keep it?
00:53But we are moving on to better things.
00:56So instead of what I probably should have done and just went out and bought new running
01:04shoes, I decided to make this into an experiment.
01:10There is no reason why or anything like that.
01:13I thought it could just be fun and interesting to see.
01:16So basically what I decided to do is get a couple different shoes at a couple different
01:20price points.
01:20And we are basically going to run an experiment on which one is worth it.
01:26And here's what I mean.
01:31So first up, we have the cheap option.
01:36These are no named, no branded.
01:40Oh, actually, Mena, Mena Loon, Mena Loon, Mena, Mena Loon.
01:46Um, these are very cheap running shoes off Timu.
01:50I think they were $30.
01:51You say, what?
01:52There's no way those could be good.
01:54Look, everything gets made in China or overseas.
01:58All the labor is outsourced.
02:00All the materials outsourced.
02:02These said they get made at the same place that makes Oasis and Brooks running shoes.
02:09Is it true?
02:11Maybe.
02:12Could it all be a scam?
02:14Um, probably.
02:16But who would I to not test and at least try?
02:19Because there could be some amazing results.
02:21Like I said, these are $30 off of Timu.
02:23I don't have high hopes for these, but we will see how they go.
02:29So next up, we have.
02:33Oh, let me find it.
02:34Let me find it.
02:37We have these Hoka Mach 7s.
02:43Now, one thing I also learned about my running shoes are the shoes that I was using to run in.
02:50Um, apparently there are dedicated running shoes in their shoes for other things.
02:57Like these are supposed to be some cheap, dedicated running shoes.
03:00Like you don't really work out in these or squat in these or like do the stair climber on these.
03:05Like these are specifically for running.
03:08I was using my old shoes for everything.
03:12Running, walking, playing football outside, being in the grass, hiking, working out in.
03:19You name it.
03:20I did them in those shoes.
03:21Running long distances, sprinting.
03:23I did everything in those shoes.
03:24Okay.
03:24So that's probably why my feet hurt.
03:26So these are going to be my dedicated, essentially gym shoes.
03:31I can go to the gym in these.
03:34I can do the stair climber in these.
03:36I can do all my cardio at the gym.
03:37If I run on the treadmill at the gym, I'm going to do it in these shoes.
03:41So these are kind of my active wear shoes.
03:43Because as you see, there is a difference in the sole.
03:46Even though this is the cheap one, there is a difference.
03:48It looks very similar, but apparently there's a difference and that's what the shoe lady told me and who am
03:55I to say otherwise.
03:58Next up, we have the expensive option.
04:01These are the Oasis Super Blast 3s.
04:05And I'm not going to lie to you when I say these were probably the most comfortable shoe I've ever
04:13worn before in my life.
04:14So I'm actually really interested to see how these go.
04:19Because these are pretty expensive.
04:23But from everything I've seen, they are an amazing running shoe.
04:26People swear by these.
04:27People have multiple pair of these.
04:29I was unaware that runners are like that.
04:31Like I'm just now trying to get into even running.
04:34I'm not really a runner.
04:35You know what I'm saying?
04:36So it's going to be interesting because these were so comfortable.
04:39So the main test is essentially the cheap running shoes versus the expensive running shoes.
04:46These are my active wear.
04:47I'm going to be working out in these.
04:49So hopefully they just feel better.
04:50And we're really just testing these two specifically.
04:55Not only that, wait, there's more.
04:57We have the Hoka Clifton 11s.
05:05Now, as I said, I do everything.
05:08And when I meant everything, I meant everything in those eight-year-old shoes.
05:13So now I have a pair of shoes I can just do something in.
05:17Just go outside in.
05:18Not necessarily like run or anything like that.
05:22But like I just need to go to the grocery store.
05:25I have a comfortable pair of shoes that I can wear.
05:27So these aren't really necessarily in the same testing group, but I do want to see how they
05:32feel in comparison to, you know, running ones, how they're built different, built with more
05:36of a rock.
05:37These are a little bit closer to the ground.
05:39These, I don't know, same thing, a little bit of rock.
05:42We're just trying out new things.
05:44Also, I thought it would be interesting to kind of switch it up a little bit.
05:49We have some Dr. Shoals insoles.
05:52So basically, these are your, you can get these anywhere from like Walmart to CVS, any
05:58drugstore, you can basically get these insoles.
06:00And then we have some more expensive, specific running insoles.
06:05You might say, why?
06:07You might ask.
06:08Because from everything that I've seen, most of the money when it comes to running shoes
06:15is put into the design in the cushion at the bottom and not into the actual insoles
06:20themselves, which is kind of disheartening that you put that much effort into it.
06:25And then you make a shoe that doesn't necessarily feel comfortable when you run because the insole
06:29is too thin or whatever the case may be.
06:31So whatever.
06:33But I thought it'd be cool to see if we can get these cheap running shoes to even be somewhat
06:40of a comparison to these really expensive ones.
06:43And even if that means buying an expensive like sole to put into the shoes, you can essentially
06:50buy four of these in a couple insoles.
06:53And you're saying, I have shoes that are on par with the most expensive ones in the market
06:57because apparently they're made at the same place.
07:00They just have different logos.
07:02I mean, I don't know.
07:03This one like looks a lot different than this one, but whatever.
07:07And that's the test that we're going to run.
07:08And I'm interested to see how it goes, because I really feel like this will give a really
07:13good baseline instead of just going out and getting a shoe and just hoping for the best.
07:16I mean, anything I put my foot into felt better than my eight year old shoes.
07:20So these will probably feel immaculate compared to what I was running in.
07:25But then I run in these and it's like, oh, yeah, this ain't the same ballpark, kid.
07:33So I'm interested to see how this goes.
07:35And if you are new to the channel, new to any of the social medias, I really appreciate
07:38you stopping by and giving this video a like, because I think this experiment is going to
07:42be fun and it probably can save you a whole bunch of money.
07:45Like I said, if you can just buy a whole bunch of cheap ones or buy one good one with
07:48an insole, don't even have to worry about anything else.
07:50I got you covered.
07:51That's why I'm running the experiment.
