00:17They traded him to Boston. James Wood is out. C.J. Abrams is out. I don't know what you could
00:22possibly expect, Tom, when you lose 50% of your offensive lineup. The Nationals are completely
00:28cooked. They cannot score. I mean, I'm watching them this weekend. It is awful. I feel honestly
00:34bad. Five through nine are players that didn't play for them all season long. Actually, three
00:41through nine are like that. Now, I think Abrams will come back for them eventually. I don't really
00:46know what's going on there. And then their pitching has actually been pretty viable here. But as you
00:51said, they had a lead in Miami on Friday. They blew it. Boy, I think they'd love to end the
00:57season,
00:58Tom, to be honest with you. I think they'd love to just pull the plug and say, let's just
01:01be done. But without getting Abrams and Wood back in this lineup, with all the other guys
01:06that they lost, Washington's going to be a fade, man. I don't know that it's going to
01:10be an A's fade, but it's close. Their offense is dreadful.
01:15Yeah, this is always the part of the season that can be really tough for teams like the
01:18Nationals or the A's or historically the Pirates. When it's bad, it's really bad. And the bottom
01:26portion of their lineup. But sometimes they can say, oh, 6, 7, 8, 9, or just 7, 8, 9 is
01:31bad. Now we're dealing with potentially five through nine is really, really not good. And
01:37whether it's trades or injuries or players that were super hot have just had some aggression
01:43and come back down to the norm. When all these things happen at the same time, the bottom
01:47is really, really low on a lot of these teams. And the Nationals moving forward, there's no
01:53reason for them to rush Wood back, right? There's zero chance that a franchise player
01:58is dealing with a, you know, an oblique injury, if I remember correctly. You can't bring him
02:03back after that. Abrams, could he get back in the lineup? Sure. He's had an awesome season.
02:07But other than that, it is a really low floor for the Nats in the final five weeks.
02:12Very, very tough here. Hopefully for them, they can just slide through to the end of the season.
