00:05All changed this week, quite important weather details to come.
00:09High pressure at the moment keeping it settled.
00:11However, as we move through the week, low pressure becomes more dominant.
00:15We're going to see bands of heavy rain pushing north across the country.
00:19Some of this could be heavy and thundery and lead to some localised flooding in places.
00:24So it is worth staying tuned to the forecast as we move through this week
00:28as there could be disruption, particularly Wednesday, Thursday and into Friday.
00:32But this morning, high pressure dominating, a chilly start, but a sunny start for many.
00:37So mists and fog patches first thing, but these clearing away and then a fine day ahead.
00:42The cloud will bubble up, particularly in the east as we move through into the afternoon.
00:46The cloud across eastern England into East Anglia, thick enough for one or two light showers
00:50and the sunshine turning hazy across the southwest.
00:53But otherwise, a fine day to come, an easterly breeze picking up,
00:56so feeling a little cooler along the eastern coast compared to the weekend.
01:01But in the sunshine, in the west in particular, getting into the low 20s, 24, 25, perhaps 26 Celsius
01:07across parts of Gloucestershire, for example.
01:10So feeling pleasant in that sunshine, plenty of blue skies across Northern Ireland
01:14after a fairly cloudy weekend.
01:17Into the evening time, the cloud generally fades away.
01:19Some clear skies are turning a little chilly for most, but cloud thickening across the channel
01:24and outbreaks of showery rain slowly moving in towards the south coast.
01:29A bit of uncertainty how quickly this will move in and falling from medium level cloud
01:33and high level cloud, maybe not too much reaching the ground.
01:36The odd rumble of thunder possible from this, but for most overnight, remaining dry.
01:41Some mist and fog patches forming, particularly in the west once more.
01:44That easterly breeze quite keen in one or two places as well.
01:48Temperatures holding up a little higher than the weekend, largely staying in double figures.
01:53Some warm and humid air starting to move into southern counties of England and Wales.
01:58So here, 16, 17 Celsius to start Tuesday morning.
02:01And the cloud moving in here, some showery outbreaks of rain uncertainty.
02:04How much will push northwards through the day?
02:07But we could see some thundery showers developing, particularly across parts of Cornwall there.
02:11Central southern England, one or two rumbles of thunder possible.
02:14Elsewhere, dry with sunny spells.
02:17A few showery outbreaks of rain, perhaps for Northern Ireland into the afternoon and also Scotland too.
02:22But plenty of sunny spells.
02:23That easterly breeze once more still there.
02:26So cool along the east coast.
02:28Temperatures, the high teens, low 20s.
02:30Warm and humid elsewhere, particularly across central, south-western parts of England and Wales.
02:3525, 26, maybe even locally, 27 Celsius if we see enough sunshine.
02:40High teens, Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, perhaps towards 20 degrees.
02:45Into the evening time on Tuesday, showery outbreaks of rain turning increasingly heavy.
02:50Push northwards, and that sets us up for that low pressure moving in.
02:54Heavy bursts of rain pushing north across the whole country.
02:57Longer spells of rain in places.
02:59Thundery downpours.
03:00Some places may see close to a month's worth of rain over the next few days, Wednesday to Friday,
03:06which will likely lead to some flooding in places due to the dry summer that we've seen in the hard
03:12ground.
03:13So it is worth staying up to date with the forecast.
03:15As that rain arrives, we could potentially be looking at warnings as we get nearer the time for that rainfall
03:21too.
03:21Temperatures warm and humid initially, but starting to fall as we head towards the weekend with the intense rain pushing
03:28north and east.
03:29Details remain a little uncertain on exactly where we'll see that highest rainfall amounts and exactly when and where.
