00:03If you're just about to head outside, it's a day of sunny spells and showers,
00:07so you may need your sunglasses and umbrella through the rest of today.
00:11Over the next few days, low-pressure systems still moving in from the Atlantic,
00:16bringing spells of rain across the country, so it does remain quite changeable,
00:20particularly across the north and west of the UK.
00:24But looking at the picture for the rest of the afternoon,
00:26a scattering of showers, not as heavy and as frequent compared to the weekend,
00:31but they could still be on the thundery side, particularly across eastern England,
00:35northeast Scotland, as we move through the day.
00:37A ridge of high pressure trying to squeeze in between weather systems across the west,
00:42meaning showers here, few and far between, so some dry weather around,
00:46but largely cloudy skies and quite a cool northwesterly breeze,
00:50introducing fresher air, humidity levels dropping as we move through the day.
00:54So temperatures in the west, a little fresher, 17 to 20 Celsius.
00:58Still some of that humid air holding on to eastern areas, 20 to 23 degrees Celsius here.
01:05Showers into the evening time slowly pull out into the North Sea,
01:09a dry interlude before the next weather system brings rain across Northern Ireland
01:13into Scotland as well.
01:15Some of this rain turning heavy as we head overnight,
01:18and the wind's picking up across northwest Scotland during the early hours too.
01:21Elsewhere across England and Wales, we've got plenty of clear spells around,
01:27just one or two light showers and the winds generally coming in from the west.
01:31So a fresher night for all, temperatures still in double digits,
01:34perhaps though dipping into single figures in the countryside where we see the clearest skies.
01:39So it means on Tuesday are sunny spells across England and Wales,
01:42but a scattering of showers from the word go.
01:45Wet and windy weather across northwest Scotland,
01:47slowly pushing south eastward, some gusty winds associated with this,
01:51a band of heavy rain then approaching parts of Northern Ireland,
01:55Southern Scotland by the afternoon.
01:57Sunshine and showers following,
01:58and northerly airflow introducing some chillier air here too.
02:03Sunshine and showers across England and Wales for the afternoon,
02:06and temperatures generally around average for the time of year.
02:10High teens to low 20s, 22, possibly 23,
02:13in the best of the sunshine once more across the southeast.
02:17Into the evening time, this band of rain just pushes slowly further southwards
02:20into northern parts of England, but starts to break up as it does so.
02:24Elsewhere, generally dry, but a cool northerly breeze across northern Scotland
02:28there introducing some further heavy showers,
02:31and the next weather system starting to approach,
02:33bringing a cloudy and wet day into Wednesday.
02:37That low pressure moves through on Wednesday,
02:39sunshine and showers again on Thursday,
02:41and then further weather systems moving in through Friday and into the weekend.
02:46Perhaps some high pressure building as we move through into the weekend,
