00:00Hello there, welcome to your evening forecast from the Met Office and high pressure is going to dominate our weather
00:08quite some time though.
00:10There is a weak weather front pushing southwards within that high pressure through the rest of the weekend giving an
00:15area of cloud and some patchy light rain but for the vast majority it will be dry with some mist
00:20and fog at times too.
00:22As we move through this evening time that band of rain pushes across Northern Ireland and Scotland into Northern England,
00:28North Wales as we head into the early hours.
00:31Ahead of it some mist developing for trick-or-treaters, turning to fog overnight, some dense patches possible as we
00:38head towards Sunday morning.
00:39Could be some tricky travelling conditions. Clear skies following behind across Northern Ireland and Scotland though one or two showers
00:46possible across the north west.
00:48Under the clearing skies it will be a chilly night to come. Temperatures, towns and cities to mid-single figures
00:54in the countryside a little lower than this.
00:57So patchy frost is possible for one too but it will be about the mist and fog.
01:02So do take care if travelling first thing on Sunday morning and this will actually be quite slow to clear
01:07as we move through the day just like we saw through Saturday.
01:10But eventually we'll see some sunny spells ahead of this weather front which continues its journey southwards with some patchy
01:17rain along it.
01:18Behind it sunny skies across parts of Northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:23No one or two showers. These most frequent across Northern Scotland.
01:27One or two of these on the heavy side and for most winds will be light but changing direction and
01:32northerly breeze across the country.
01:34So temperatures just down a couple of degrees compared to Saturday.
01:37Generally 10 to 12 Celsius in the north.
01:4013, 14, locally 15 across the south.
01:43So if we do see any sunny spells in the far south it will still be fairly pleasant for the
01:48first day of November.
01:50Into the evening time the band of cloud and rain just reaches southern counties of England and fizzles out into
01:56the early hours.
01:57Behind it clear skies overnight but the orientation of the high just shifts a little westwards and that just allows
02:04for the northerly breeze to bring some showers.
02:06Down the east coast. One or two of these could be heavy at times.
02:09So temperatures here holding up overnight but further west dropping away.
02:14Particularly under the ridge of high pressure for Northern Ireland through the central belt of Scotland.
02:18A touch of frost possible here where the winds will be light.
02:21Showers continuing across Northern Scotland as well.
02:25So a mixed start to Monday but the vast majority will be dry with some sunny spells.
02:30Some mist and fog patches.
02:31Frost in the west.
02:33This lifting to sunny spells quite quickly.
02:35And then in the east we'll see a continuation of some showers feeding in from the north sea.
02:40Some of these making their way inland.
02:41Most frequent across parts of East Anglia down into Kent.
02:45One or two of these on the heavy side.
02:47But for the vast majority it will be another dry day.
02:50Winds lightest towards the centre of the high across the northwest of the country.
02:54Elsewhere a little breezy and that breeze will make it feel rather chilly.
02:57So temperatures near average for the time of year.
03:00Highs around 13 degrees in the south.
03:02Around 10 or 11 across northern parts of the UK.
03:06Into the evening time it generally remains fairly similar.
03:09High pressure holding on and then taking a quick look at the week ahead.
03:14Largely dry conditions for all of us.
03:16Some sunny spells trying to break through the cloud at times.
03:20Temperatures around average for the time of year.
03:23Could lead to some mist and fog and frost by night.
03:27And the settled picture does remain for quite some time.
