Chandigarh Police Bust BKI Terror Plot, Seize 5 kg Gelatin Explosives; 3 Suspects Arrested

Chandigarh Police busted a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror conspiracy following the late-night apprehension of three suspects at a barricade in Chandigarh. A suspicious bag was found containing an IED, approximately five kilograms of gelatin stick explosives, one detonator, a power source, one pistol, one magazine, and five live cartridges. Acting on the directions of a foreign-based handler named Satnam Shera, the suspects—identified as Lovepreet, Jashanpreet, and a third accomplice aged 19 to 21 from Amritsar and Tarn Taran—planned to plant the IED in Chandigarh to create terror. An FIR has been registered at Sector 36 police station, and interrogation is underway as police appeal for information on suspicious activities while reassuring citizens not to panic.

00:00A BKI terror conspiracy has been busted by Chandigarh police.

00:03Late last night is when three suspects were apprehended right from here where the barricade is.

00:10This is where those three suspects were apprehended after a suspicious bag was found with an IED in it.

00:17Now let me tell you, as far as the information is concerned,

00:21approximately 5 kg of gelatin stick explosives,

00:24one detonator,

00:26a power source,

00:27one pistol,

00:28one magazine,

00:28five live cartridges were found.

00:32Now the handler is apparently Satnam.

00:36So this is where what you see towards the far end is with the Chandigarh police vehicle.

00:42So Satna Naushaira is a foreign-based handler.

00:46His real name is Satnam.

00:48And obviously acting on his directions,

00:51the three planned to plant an IED in Chandigarh with the intention to create terror.

00:57So an FIR has been registered in sector 36.

01:01A police station and interrogation is underway.

01:05The three youth who are from 19 to 21 years of age mostly belong to Amritsar and Taran Taran.

01:13We've been told their names are Lovpreet, Jashanpreet.

01:18This is where what we can tell you is a terror conspiracy has now been busted.

01:24And Chandigarh police has asked and appealed that if there is more information coming in

01:29regarding any sort of suspicious activity,

01:31they should be contacted.

01:33Meanwhile,

01:33do not really panic.

01:35So yes,

01:36interrogation now underway as to what the terror conspiracy was really all about.
