00:07but not Casey Kuhlman of Thredbo.
00:11After growing up skating on the frozen canals in northern Holland,
00:15since arriving in Australia around 70 years ago,
00:19Casey has skated in several places in our very own snowy mountains,
00:23including that small lake at Friday Flat in Thredbo.
00:27Where in 2015, the daring Dutchman was captured on camera by a passerby doing what he does best.
00:36It's unlikely Casey will skate in Thredbo again.
00:40Snowmakers now pump water out of the lake, causing the water levels to change constantly.
00:45This leaves dangerous air gaps under the ice, making it unstable.
00:50Oh, and the no skating sign that was erected by authorities not long after Casey's 2015 exploits probably doesn't help
01:01matters.
01:02In fact, due to safety concerns, authorities generally advise against venturing onto natural ice anywhere in Australia.
01:11And Thredbo isn't the only place where ice skating is prohibited in the snowy mountains.
01:17And they leave fairly OP-ных mom and everybody take that water going up at Instagram.
