Addressing concerns over reported Chinese transgressions in Arunachal Pradesh, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju clarified that the entire border stretch remains undemarcated. He explained that overlap in claims occurs because no formal demarcation was conducted following the establishment of the McMahon Line in 1914. Highlighting historical gaps in border road construction, Rijiju emphasized that significant infrastructure development commenced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration from 2014 onwards. He dismissed claims of deep Chinese intrusions, describing reports of 50 to 60 kilometer encroachments as damaging and inaccurate, noting that disputed areas span only two to four kilometers. Regarding China's recent attempt to rename places and passes in Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju characterized it as a psychological tactic with no practical impact, reiterating that the region is an integral Indian territory. He affirmed that enhanced road connectivity, border infrastructure, and troop deployment have made India's borders safer and better prepared to defend national sovereignty against external challenges.

00:00Latest news, the opposition is picking it up.
00:03I want you to answer it.
00:04You come from Arunachal Pradesh.
00:05Have there been some more transgressions from China to our side in Arunachal Pradesh?
00:10See, it's a very sensitive issue, so I have to be absolutely careful
00:16and also truthful to put the facts before the nation.
00:24The entire Arunachal Pradesh portion is undemarketed.
00:30Not a single stretch is demarketed.
00:35Only there are border points where the PLA and our Indian Army, they meet.
00:43That's called flag meeting.
00:45So when the area is not demarketed, suddenly there are cases of our forces
00:53and their forces moving and crossing over to each other's claimed territory.
01:00The problem is, ever since 1914, when McMohan Line was drawn,
01:08an imaginary line was drawn on the map,
01:12there was no border infrastructure development from our side.
01:16Chinese also started very late.
01:18But unfortunately, we started the border roads very late.
01:25In the 70s and 80s, there were some border roads, but that was just a nominal movement,
01:34not reaching exactly to the border point.
01:37But 2014, when Modi-ji came to power, he started building the road infrastructure along the border.
01:46So when we were building the roads, the Chinese have already built.
01:50So they have a larger movement and they have a better deployment.
01:55Thereby, they have built infrastructure in certain areas where we also have claim,
02:03they also have claim.
02:04That is why the issue raised by border people in Arunachal Pradesh, they are valid.
02:12But somebody tried to say that, oh, 50, 60 kilometers, the Chinese have come inside Arunachal.
02:18These kind of statements are damaging.
02:22Because the border problem is 2, 3 kilometers, at the most 4 kilometers like that.
02:28Because the area is very vast.
02:30An attempt to rename places from our side and their side.
02:34How does that help?
02:35If you come to the technical level, I think the Chinese have played some psychological game.
02:45They have started naming some of the passes and some of the areas in Arunachal Pradesh,
02:52which will have no bearing or no practical effect on us.
02:56Because Arunachal Pradesh is purely an Indian territory.
03:00It is an Indian state.
03:02I belong to Arunachal Pradesh.
03:04So by naming, the Chinese government will not gain anything.
03:09But on the other side, now we are building the infrastructure.
03:13I think our borders are more safe now because we are adequately prepared to protect our territory
03:20through proper infrastructure and our forces deployment.
03:25Sir, you speak about Arunachal Pradesh.
03:28We ask you to speak to one very young citizen of India and Arunachal Pradesh,
03:34who was not very happy till about a week ago.

03:46Are you connecting through video phone?
03:49Should I connect on video?
03:50Are you okay with that?
03:51Yeah, I am okay.
03:52You are fine?
03:53Let me try and connect, sir.
03:55So little tinkle had put out a video of her saying that she is not Indian.
04:06She is Chinese.
