08:21Welcome back from the South.
08:23Health care workers in Paraguay continue striking for a fourth consecutive day to protest over
08:28poor working conditions and demand salary increases frozen for 14 years.
08:33Doctors are extending the national protests to demand the permanent hiring of contract workers,
08:38double pay for holidays, the provision of supplies and better infrastructure in public hospitals.
08:43The strike has paralyzed outpatient care over the government's failure to reduce workloads
08:48to 12 hours per week per contact.
08:51The decision to go on strike was ratified following the collapse of negotiations at the tripartite
08:57table between union representatives and the government.
09:07In Mexico, another protest was held by the parents of the 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural
09:13Teachers College in Guerrero who went missing on the night of September 26, 2014.
09:19With one month to go before the 12th anniversary of this case, the victims' families continue
09:25to demand justice and clarification of the events.
09:28Antonio Aranda has the details in the following report.
09:31On September 26, the parents of the 43 missing students from the Isidro Burgos Rural Teachers'
09:38College in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, will mark 12 years of demanding justice for their children.
09:44As they do every month, they protested in Mexico City to demand that the investigations continue
09:50so they can find out what really happened to their sons.
09:55We take to the streets on the 26th of every month to demand justice and punishment for
10:00those responsible.
10:02And I believe that all of this, thanks to all the effort we've put in, all the struggles
10:09we've endured, is finally coming to fruition.
10:13People who have been in prison have been arrested.
10:15The recent arrest of Angelo Aguirre, who was governor of the state of Guerrero at the time
10:21of the 43 students' disappearance, is a substantial step forward.
10:25He was governor at the time, and there has been no justice.
10:31Now that he's in prison, he must tell the whole truth.
10:36Where are the recordings?
10:40Where are the videos that were supposedly destroyed?
10:42He must know.
10:44Angelo Aguirre remains in custody at a high-security prison.
10:48The attorney general's office identifies him as the primary person responsible for the
10:53destruction and concealment of key evidence needed to solve the case.
10:56These advances in the Ayotzinapa investigation are the result of a new approach to the inquiries,
11:03according to President Claudia Scheinbaum.
11:07It may be the same evidence, but now, by delving deeper through various methods,
11:14many of them involving the investigation and the leads that have emerged.
11:20For example, the case of the former governor of Guerrero, I've asked the Secretary of the Interior,
11:29and I hope the attorney general agrees that, before September 26th, which marks the 12th anniversary of the disappearance of
11:41the Ayotzinapa students,
11:45a public briefing be held to explain these lines of investigation without, of course, compromising the investigation itself,
11:54to explain why new suspects have been detained, and to detail the work that has been carried out.
12:02Therefore, the progress that has been made is very significant, as is our commitment to the mothers and fathers and
12:08the people of Mexico
12:09to uncover the truth, achieve justice, and find these young people.
12:15Moving on to Cuba, President Miguel Díaz-Canel inspected educational facilities in Havana
12:20to evaluate preparations for the upcoming academic year.
12:25During the tour, Education Minister Naima Trujillo confirmed that nearly 1.5 million students across all education levels
12:32will return to classrooms nationwide on September 1st.
12:36Authorities highlighted government efforts to guarantee universal access to the public education system,
12:41despite ongoing economic blockades by the United States.
12:45Officials confirmed that schools and technical institutions across the Caribbean island
12:49are finalized in logistical and structural reparations to welcome students for the new school term.

13:47Tech giants MEDA has agreed to pay up to $18 billion to sell for the future.
13:57The court approved settlement mandates immediate operational changes across MEDA's platform, including strict daily screen time limits,
14:07to overlap the future.
14:12The court approved settlement mandates immediate operational changes across MEDA's platform, including strict daily screen time limits,
14:20total lab blocks during overnight hours and the removal of targeted notifications during school period for teenage users.
14:28State prosecutors held the resolution as a legal turning point that holds social media corporations directly accountable for youth mental
14:37health impacts and digital safety standards.
14:45I am pleased to announce today a settlement of our state's three separate lawsuits against MEDA platforms, Facebook Messenger and
14:57Instagram.
14:58These settlements include both significant monetary restitution to our state and, more importantly, injunctive relief that will ensure that MEDA
15:09policies protect our children while they use these platforms.
15:18Iceland, which has been part of the European Economic Area since 1994 will hold a referendum on Saturday on resuming
15:26negotiations for accession to the European Union.
15:29The Icelandic government is presenting the August 29 vote as a now or never opportunity to pursue the possibility of
15:37joining the European Union
15:39or maintaining the country's status quo within the European Economic Area.
15:44Although the election has been portrayed as crucial against the backdrop of a changing political landscape,
15:50very specific issues such as agriculture and fishing have emerged as the voters' top concern.
15:57The key point is that the referendum will only determine whether Iceland resumed talks with Brussels.
16:02Any decision to formally join the European Union could require a second referendum, possibly as early as 2028.
16:34Following more information in the Middle East, the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference has opened in Tehran,
16:41bringing together more than 100 Muslim scholars, religious figures and officials from around the world.
16:46The four-day conference runs from August 27 to 30 in Tehran with the series of parallel meetings scheduled in
16:53the holy cities of Qom and Mashhad,
16:55as well as in sunny populated areas of West Asherbeyan, Kurdistan, Sistan and Balochistan.
17:02The conference's agenda covers the unity, the Islamic nation and modern Islamic civilization in the tissues of the modern leader,
17:10Ali Khamenei,
17:11alongside the role of shared Islamic principles in shaping a common identity.
17:15The conference is being held amid the ongoing war on Iran, with the speakers emphasizing Islamic solidarity, cooperation, sovereignty
17:22and the need for greater coordination among Muslim countries in the face of regional and global challenges.
17:34Hearing speech at the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday, the permanent observer of the State of Palestine to the
17:40United Nations, Riyad Mansour,
17:42condemned the Israeli takeover of the UNRWA Kalandia Training Center, accusing Tel Aviv of seeking to destroy the Palestinian State
17:49and ensure the triumph of the settler state.
17:52The storming of UNRWA Kalandia Training Center, the raising of the Israeli flag on UN premises again, and the childish
18:04yet dangerous video of being there in military attire behind the desk of the director of the center constitute breaches
18:14of UN charter and of the inviolability of UN premises,
18:19as stated by the ICJ.
18:22They are part of a pattern to destroy UNRWA in the hope of liquidating the question of Palestinian refugees.
18:36In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, at least six provinces have reported confirmed cases of Ebola.
18:42The National Institute of Public Health reported that of the 5,514 confirmed cases in the current outbreak, there have
18:51been 2,642 deaths.
18:54Although the outbreak affected six provinces south in Kibu, has gone more than 82 days without any new confirmed cases,
19:02which is considered a breath of fresh air amid the crisis.
19:05Given that authorities assert that the speed at which the virus is spreading is unprecedented compared to previous outbreaks.
19:22During the night of Thursday, August 27, and the early morning of Friday, August 28, a deep partial lunar eclipse
19:29will occur as the moon moves through our Earth's shadow.
19:31The phenomenon will be visible across much of the planet, including countries in America, Europe and Africa, as well as
19:38the Eastern Pacific.
19:40According to the NASA, during the event, approximately 93% of the moon's diameter will be submerged in the Earth's
19:47umbra, leaving only a narrow strip of the disk outside the shadow.
19:51Although it won't become a total lunar eclipse, it will come very close to being one.
19:56In much of North America, Central America and South America, the eclipse will take place during the night of August
20:0227 and August 28, early morning depending on the time zone,
20:07including countries such as Canada, the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and others.
20:13In Europe and Africa, however, the moon will gradually approach the western horizon during the early hours of August 28.
20:27And like this, we have gone to the end of this since brief.
