00:10setting the stage for a colorful National Day celebration,
00:13attended by more than 100,000 people at Dataran Putrajaya.
00:1769 years after gaining independence, the Merdeka celebrations remain a major highlight for Malaysians,
00:23bringing people from all walks of life together to celebrate the nation's journey.
00:26His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sophia, Queen of Malaysia,
00:34arrived ahead of the Grand Parade, where they were welcomed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
00:38and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Aziza Wan Ismail.
00:43The Jalur Gemilang flew proudly as contingents marched past,
00:47alongside performances and displays highlighting Malaysia's diverse people, rich culture and achievements.
00:57For many in the crowd, Merdeka was also a chance to bring their families together
01:01and experience the patriotic atmosphere firsthand.

03:08We are very excited to see the jets fly over, the helicopters and stuff.
03:13And also, we are quite excited to see the animals that were together in the parade.
03:18So, and yeah, it's a really good time.
03:21Actually, it's really good because we were surrounded by all races at the same spa.
03:26So, we sang the national anthem together.
03:29And it was just so good.
03:32The parade was so fun.
03:33And we had a really good time.
03:36Actually, this is my first time, which is, I'm attending to the Merdeka celebration.
03:42Before this, I was just watching the Merdeka celebration only in the TV.
03:46But this is my first time, which I am come here directly watching everything.
03:51Everything was so good.
03:52So, I'm excited and everything was nice.
03:55As the 69th National Day celebrations drew Malaysians together beneath the Jalur Gemilang,
04:01the message from the crowd was clear.
04:03Merdeka is not only about celebrating how far the nation has come,
04:07but also about standing together,
04:09cherishing the present and looking ahead to a better Malaysia.
