00:46Under the DSA, online services that reach more than 45 million monthly users in the EU
00:52are classified as either very large online platforms or very large online search engines.
00:59The three services now have four months to comply with a series of obligations
01:04including annual systemic risk assessments covering illegal content,
01:09the protection of minors, effects on users' mental and physical well-being and public security.
01:15They must also submit to independent audits and share data with regulators and vetted researchers.
01:22Non-compliance can attract penalties of up to 6% of a company's global annual turnover.
