00:00grade these signings are you starting to see what Kevin Stefanski and Ian Cunningham are putting
00:05together here yeah they they want to get bigger and heavier on the offensive and defensive fronts
00:12to me I mean it's just it's just clear um and look at it I'm with it like you know
00:18I I like
00:19that school of thought I think that ripping the band-aid off is going to be a little bit more
00:22difficult Bo go back to a conversation you and I had where we got a bunch of side eye this
00:28is
00:29four months ago probably and I just mentioned um you know the thought that maybe when you move on
00:35from some offensive lineman aka Chris Lindstrom maybe that's a thought maybe that Chris because
00:43I brought this up and Chris Lindstrom's making a lot of money and I think people took it as if
00:48I was
00:48talking bad about Chris Lindstrom and I'm not I'm a huge fan but he he fits in a very specific
00:54scheme
00:54and the happiness has to go both ways and if the opportunity is there for him to be with a
01:01Dwayne
01:01Ledford somewhere else I wouldn't completely rule that out and this to me is further evidence of it
01:06if you want to run the ball and you want to be physical Matt Ryan said it in his opening
01:11presser
01:12you know that the best thing that ever happened to him was turn around and handing off to Michael
01:15Turner early in his career um if you want to be that team then you start adding guys that fit
01:20that
01:20profile and I think that's exactly what they've done with some of the names they've brought in
01:25over the last few days but it can't yeah and and let's just but with the Lindstrom conversation
01:32because uh you're not wrong in my mind and I trust everything you you say about offensive line play
01:39but could you could you is there a way after this year if you say you know what he adapted
01:45well to what
01:45we're trying to do we like his he's he's very he's such a smart guy like Chris Chris Lindstrom I
01:53know that you say that the smartest guy uh that's closer to the football the smarter the guy rule and
01:59normally the center is the smartest guy on the team with all due respect to everyone in that in that
02:04room I have a hard a hard time fathoming anyone smarter on that offensive line than Chris Lindstrom
02:12so what it could it be a situation where either a you move you you you ended up asking him
02:17to do
02:17something he's never done before uh in the NFL which is be a center which his brother did or find
02:25a way
02:26to to surround him with bigger guys where you could keep a guy like that because if he adapts to
02:31the
02:31system I think option b is what they're going to try to do um and again this is I'm not
02:37trying to say
02:37they can or should uh ever think about moving on Chris Lindstrom but to me it's it is something you
02:43and I have talked about over the last few years and the need to highlight more physical players up
02:47front and along with that it's like oh why don't they run power last couple years well because that's
02:53not really what Chris Lindstrom's game is they tried multiple times to do that uh over the last few
02:58years just not what his game is and so I think that option b like you talked about surround him
03:04with
03:04bigger players yeah and allow him to be more athletic and to be a puller and to be a guy
03:09that
03:10gets out on screens and I think that goes for everybody I think that goes for everybody across
03:14the entire front I just think that when you talk about the outlook what which is exactly what we
03:18were doing four months ago having that conversation that's the direction they've gone they've added
03:23bigger players to both lines of scrimmage and when you hear them so twofold like the vision is
03:31yes adding bigger players but also training younger players like not every not everybody across the
03:38offensive line needs to be a first-round draft pick you can take some young dudes and mold them and
03:43and
03:43and and and train them especially with a guy and like I think Dwayne Ledford was good very good at
03:48it
03:48as well but like with big Bill Callahan like I mean that dude knows how to he knows how to
03:53teach what
03:54he's doing and I you know hearing some of the stuff that they've done some of the drills that they
03:57do and
03:58stuff you're like I've never even heard of that never even heard of that type of drill and not
04:05that I'm the expert on drills Mike but it's like one of those deals and I look at Oney Onwa
04:09and
04:09bringing in like Cameron Williams right young guys who played at a very high level but they now they
04:17have a chance to sit and kind of kind of learn like James Brockermeyer is a guy that while he's
04:25really
04:25just the size of Ryan he's about Ryan Newsel's size he's got on the practice squad right now so
04:30they clearly kind of like what they saw they like enough of him to say hey let's let's kind of
04:35train
04:35this guy so and was it Cam Cam Dewberry stayed on the practice squad big dude that you're a big
04:46dude
04:47he's massive yeah he is you're you're a big dude he's a big he's a big guy so I I
04:54do wonder where
04:55you know what this line looks like next year but I know one thing um as it sits right now
05:01I know that
05:02Bergeron and Lindstrom appear to be guys that will be on it next year and I'm not saying Ryan Newsel
05:08won't
05:08I don't know I mean he's got a chance to go out there and and and show that he he
05:12deserves to be
05:13given more money are there any guys any other guys out there that you'd sign at this point that
05:19are some areas that we need to address it's hard to say I'm I'm still got my eyes on the
05:26running back
05:26room um and again they have all the pieces they need to go into week one you can standard elevate
05:32and you can do all those different things but that's on the surface you're looking at a two-man
05:36running back room on the 53 and that's a little bit of a head scratcher I don't know I think
05:42when I look at the moves they've made they have established this level of uncomfortability
05:47which I think is honestly sitting on this side of it I think it's a healthy thing sitting on that
05:53side of it I would have told you the complete opposite you know you want guys to feel comfortable
05:57in their role but man you got to think if you're a guy like Dexter who just got traded here
06:02and everything's a little bit foreign to you and you want to come in and put your best foot forward
06:06and you're in a contract year like you would have to think that you're coming in with just
06:11you know bleeding from the knuckles you know what I mean like you're ready to roll so I I don't
06:17know
06:17I think that there is a level of uncomfortability that I think kind of goes to what Ian and them
06:22have
06:22trying to do or you know I've been trying to do and that's create competition across the board
06:25this is one of the more competitive camps I remember in a while and I think it was absolutely
06:32strategically done I mean that's why you brought in a lot of guys to me that's one of the that
06:37was
06:37part of the the thought process and maybe not the entirety of it but bring it in and you can
06:42look
06:42at cap reasons as stuff well but also you bring in a bunch of guys on one-year deals who
06:48are not
06:48relatively young guys you don't think it the Zach Harrison and the Zizo Jolari releases weren't kind of
06:56like okay really I mean I'm Darnay Holmes is obviously right there and he's back on the on
07:04the practice squad now but I mean I think there is a ripple effect that that happens with that where
07:10you're I think it's a really good point that Mike is it looks very we love it over here because
07:16you you see that competition and you also kind of know that well yeah that's all right you know they
07:22don't be comfortable because you have so many years of um not reaching your goal that
07:28as as media and fans I think most people don't understand how to get there and they're thinking
07:32well people are too comfortable that's the first thought process and that's not always the case
07:37but it is a good thing where you got a new regime and they're making guys some guys are having
07:42to walk
07:43in here right away and earn it and I can I just I get the feeling that Zach Harrison and
07:47Zizo Jolari not
07:48being on the roster um might send send us send a little bit of a signal to some people on
07:54that
07:55side of the ball anyways or maybe in the entire locker room where do you think Zizo Jolari could
07:59end up I was really surprised by him not making the practice squad especially there is room right now
08:05Josh Woods went up to the 53 man roster so there's room yeah I'm with you um surprised too uh
08:12I I think
08:13we were all kind of rooting for him and Braylon tries the same way uh that's those are two guys
08:17who we've
08:17had numerous conversations with really really good dudes really enjoyable to be around um so I'm right
08:23there with you um you know I expected them to kind of land you know rebound back to the practice
08:27squad
08:27but I wasn't overly you know impressed by either one of their impress uh you know their their preseasons
08:35so this is just Ian staying true to his word it's been very businesslike I I think that's a very
08:40difficult thing because we have to kind of put our emotions about those guys to the back but
08:45it is what it is all right it's wherever he lands it'll be after week one in my eyes um
08:53that you
08:53know you can sign a guy and I have to guarantee any money and it it could be it might
08:59benefit him to
09:02wait and not to necessarily sign with a practice squad maybe now maybe maybe it doesn't benefit him
09:08but I would imagine it could be for him because it I would find it hard to fathom that in
09:12a league
09:13of 32 teams and as many you know edge and defensive linemen that somebody doesn't get banged up in week
09:18one yeah all right just I was thinking about this a minute ago just to kind of close on this
09:26I went
09:26back to to look at how big Philadelphia's O-line was because obviously Ian spent a ton of time there
09:32kind of developing that group about 338 pounds average across the front and they move well think
09:37about that they move well though too and what what a weapon it is for them to be able to
09:42do their
09:43their short yardage tush push and everything else because of that that the group and again he hasn't
09:49been there in what five years he's been there in five years but he was part of the group that
09:54developed and brought in like Jordan Mailata and some of the other bodies they have up front well I
09:58would look at what Chicago's got too and I've I I'm I'm mad at you now I have gone a
10:05long time
10:05um without having to hear the the phrase tush push yeah and I was very fine with it yeah and
10:12you just reminded me that I have to put up with watching that apologies to everybody out there
10:16right now man just is what it is can I connect some dots for you guys good all right so
10:20Ian
10:20Cunningham was with the Eagles from 2017 to 22 yeah Turk Williams was there in 2018 oh snap
10:28yeah and he grew up a Falcons fan um Ian Cunningham cut Turk Williams what a great call I would
10:36have
10:36never put those two together but hopefully Howie did that um Howie Roseman maybe been maybe but but
10:42but Ian Cunningham does have the he has the residue on his fingers from that situation hey but you know
10:49what if we learned anything from Turk Williams is if you get cut you don't know if the WWE might
10:54call you
10:54he's like I don't know how the paperwork got crossed but I was trying to sign off with the
10:58XFL I got a call the next day I was like dude y'all have the same secretary like what's
11:03going on
