00:01Paul Tuna went home to former Football League outfit Torquay on a bank holiday in front of a bumper crowd.
00:06A pretty special day for the club there.
00:08Yeah, great day for the club. It's been a great weekend on the pitch for us.
00:12I was going to say, because that's now back-to-back wins, isn't it?
00:14You're a good win at Horsham and you back it up today. Six points, a real good weekend.
00:17Yeah, as you always say, football's a funny old game.
00:21We had to make a couple of slight adjustments in how we're defending the structure off the ball,
00:27which we changed and it's mostly taken a little bit of shine off us on the ball,
00:31so we've got to get the balance right with that.
00:33But yeah, over the weekend we've been excellent off the ball.
00:37Yeah, so second half you really nullified Horsham and today really disciplined throughout
00:41when you were off the ball and all that sort of side of the game.
00:44Yeah, it was a strange first half. I think there wasn't really anything in it.
00:48We let them have the ball waiting to frustrate them and see if we can pick them off.
00:53Unfortunately, the grass is long today.
00:56You know, they said they got cut but question marks over that, how long it is,
01:00which don't suit us.
01:01And you could tell in the first half, the ball was getting checked when we were trying to break on
01:04them.
01:06And yeah, it was a bit of a non-eventful first half.
01:09Yeah, sort of tight first half, wasn't it?
01:10And then you sort of kick into game and sort of take charge in the second.
01:13What was the message at half-time at nil-nil there in that game?
01:16Yeah, it was just understanding the pitch, you know.
01:18We were trying to be so direct and quick on the break.
01:21And then it was getting stuck under the feet.
01:22We just had to, you know, adjust and realise what the pitch was.
01:24And can we move it two, three touches and over rip things from there and hold up?
01:29And yeah, second half, we adjusted to it so much better.
01:32The first goal, Daz just puts one in an area and a bit of miscommunication from Torquay,
01:37but you put it in there, you asked the question and it found the corners, didn't it?
01:40Yeah, it was one of them.
01:41We sort of worked it quite well down the left-hand side.
01:43And yeah, Daz has put one of those balls in where, you know, when you're throwing up
01:47and you're talking, you know, fame with a goal, it almost goes in.
01:50And it was one of them, it was a late call and yeah, confusion is nestled in the bottom corner.
01:55And then obviously, second goal, to sort of wrap it up, you know, good bit of play from Bill.
01:59And then he sets it off for Rax and a nice finish in the corner for him there, in front
02:02there.
02:02Yeah, it's a little bit what we're about, you know, that second goal, it's broken up really well.
02:06I don't remember whether it was Matt McKenzie, then it's bounced up.
02:10Bill's come on to it with a head and it's sort of one-touch, one-touch play, you know, a
02:16full stretch.
02:17And Bill's done it extremely well and Rax has got his goal, a goal that, you know, we've been craving
02:21for him to get.
02:22Yeah, obviously that will get him up and running really, won't it?
02:24And sort of help his confidence, won't it?
02:26Massively, yeah, you know, he's coming on, he's coming on, he's got his goal and he's had quite a shift
02:30in for the boys off the ball.
02:32You know, he wants to score goals and be a part of the attacking front, but I thought when he
02:35came on, it was exciting.
02:37Brandon Mason, back in the start, obviously after his little sort of tightness issue and the man of the match
02:41display.
02:42So sort of slotted straight back in perfectly there really, didn't he?
02:44He did, yeah, he's massive for us. You know, you could see when he was out that we missed him
02:49with that natural left foot up.
02:52But yeah, his attitude's spot on and yeah, he's so good to have and we're lucky to have him.
02:57And obviously Matt McKenzie, you've got his first minutes on Saturday, but off the bench again, he's sort of easing
03:00back in, isn't he?
03:01Certainly he's another one here.
03:02Yeah, you can see he's perfect at the minute. He's obviously pre-season now, a long time out of a
03:07shoulder injury and tripping him in like this is perfect for me because it's an easy option.
03:12But to bring him on for these moments has been key.
03:17Had two good away wins, but to get that first home win, you know, in front of the fans and
03:20you know, a big crowd, talky, a big club.
03:22I mean, that's another sort of real good one to add that, isn't it?
03:26Yeah, it is, yeah. You know, I don't really look into things like winning at home or winning away.
03:30You know, we go about our business and do what we do.
03:33And yeah, we've come up chumps today against, like you say, an ex-football league side, a massive football club.
03:40And it's a day for the club to be proud.
03:42And you say obviously football's fun, you know, back-to-back wins in a couple of days and you're sort
03:45of nearly, I don't know, early in the season, but not far after the playoffs now.
03:48It's just sort of funny, isn't it?
03:48No, yeah, the last few years, you know, we've spent our time at the top of the table and you
03:51know, in this league, this is where we want to be in that top end.
03:54And yeah, I think, you know, this weekend's made the season a good start.
03:58Yeah, solid start and look to building it at Hemel on Saturday.
04:01Yeah, another, you know, tricky, tricky game over on the 3G pitch, but you know, the confidence will be growing.
04:06And, you know, we're changing things this year with training, not having to train, but the boys, I'll see the
04:11boys on Saturday.
