00:20be the one starting every week uh i think she's a little more knowledgeable for the nfl now but
00:26like when i first got in the nfl yeah it was like well i mean what are we doing and
00:30i'm like well
00:30listen okay this is kind of how it works you know back in new york it was like daniel jones

00:35180 million dollars right now like okay we're working towards it okay but it's all good well
00:42now that you have baron morton as your understudy have things changed this year now that and he's
00:46made the team officially can you have him do you know all the everything you need done listen he's
00:51he's been great he i know he had one he had one task for me doing training camp and i
00:55was
00:55getting the room some quarterback snack so we've been pretty good to him so far and he's been good
00:59about it so so there's a little bit of hazing that's involved in all of this is that what you're
01:04saying i wouldn't call it hazing no i mean as long as you got some i think right now in
01:08the room we
01:08got doritos takis gushers we got some just that's about it damn he's got i mean listen that guy's got
01:15an assortment he's that's not he's not got a boring collection there listen it's it's decent
01:20compared to some other rooms very boring for sure but hey we we do our part all right so so
01:26so tommy i mean obviously you work very closely with drake and and i you know it's i've always
01:31wondered about the relationship between you know two quarterbacks in the room if is there a part of
01:36drake's game that you look at and you go man if i could just steal that one part of his
01:40game and add
01:40it to mine what part are you taking i think his patience i think he has such a you know
01:47amazing
01:47feel for not only the pocket but for when things are you know opening up i think that from when
01:54i
01:54first got here last year i was like wow i feel like he's kind of moving a little slow not
01:58running
01:59wise but like in the pocket and then you know as like the season went on i saw how that
02:03was part of
02:04an advantage for him i was like wow it's something that was impressive for me i mean for him to
02:07be able
02:07to get some of the third and fourth progressions uh going down the field and you know that was
02:12that was a huge strength for us hey tommy how exciting are these like last couple days i mean
02:17obviously you you know you're going to make the team and all that but then on on the margins there's
02:21a lot of moving going on with guys getting cut and then practice squad and waiver claims and trades
02:26how does the team come together over these the last two days yeah it's really a hectic time i mean
02:32i've been on both sides of it now this time i finally got to take a deep breath on this
02:37day and
02:37kind of just enjoy my day as opposed to the other days where you're kind of sitting near the phone
02:40and you really don't know what's going to happen and times where i've been not cut cut cut and then
02:45claim so i really uh i really cherish this moment but really feel for you know the guys who have
02:51to
02:51go through that day of getting that phone call getting cut but um you know it's a revolving door
02:54and that's just the business part of the nfl but you know it really hits more when you see it
02:59when
02:59you see the guys like when you come in today and there's half of the lockers are empty and gone
03:04and the
03:04guys that you know you just did otas and training camp with so you know it's a business it's uh
03:08part
03:09of it here to make the best team possible let us win games and you know that's just the unfortunate
03:13part of it don't worry they're going to make way more money in college going back apparently
03:17that's the new loophole no doubt yeah i mean i guess i guess that's the thing i wonder if i
03:21still
03:21have a year to go back i would love to why not do these guys again and i own now
03:25they're more than
03:26some guys contracts crazy but it is pretty insane man how they figured that out but god bless them
03:31man you get your money how you can i'm i'm happy for those guys that's it's just insane i mean

03:36only thing that sucks is the guy who i guess thought he was starting now throughout training
03:40camp but a guy from the nfl comes back and takes his job i mean well that's just how the
03:45cookie
03:46crumbles man that's just unfortunately that's how football works every once in a while um all right
03:50so um let me let me ask you about this like uh you know dear when you christian gonzalez is
03:55such a
03:56talent and like can you give me the perspective of what it's like to be a quarterback and have
04:01him standing on the other side of the ball like how much of a problem is christian gonzalez
04:06for sure not only with his size and you know length but for me i mean i i was just
04:12seeing it
04:12through the scout team last year when i'm trying to you know make a throw here or there and it's
04:16really like he's almost playing receiver the way he could track the ball down the field and make plays
04:20on the ball it's just such a natural thing not a one-handed interception that happened last year
04:25where you're trying to like give a 50 50 ball a chance on some certain situations and you just
04:29go up there and grab it in one hand you're like what is going on like this is not normal
04:33usually
04:33dds don't have the better hands that's the reason they play defense but in his case he's he's special
04:39you know i think he's special i think he's a ball hawk and the way that he could just attack
04:42the ball
04:42in the air just looks natural so tommy uh obviously the big install week for you guys how much of
04:48last
04:49year's super bowl do you go back and comb through or is it a whole new year that you're going
04:53up
04:53against in a new team um i mean every every team in this year is a new team i think
04:59that like you
04:59feel like there's pieces that come in and out everybody's gonna try to put little wrinkles
05:03into their game plans and offensively defensively that throughout the nfl but i think that just
05:08watching the game over from last year i think that you just need to not be you know um sensitive
05:14about things that maybe didn't go our way for any loss any games that ended in a loss you got
05:19to be
05:19able to learn from them and you know try to make the most of any opportunities that you get so
05:22i think
05:22it's a good thing just to go back and relive and feel the memory and the feelings that we had
05:26after
05:27losing that game and just use that as motivation yeah that's because i mean we were talking to
05:31kevin byard earlier and that's they really threw you guys out there in the gauntlet i mean those
05:36first several games are just intimidating as hell and there's been a lot of talk about how
05:40how tough the schedule is for you guys like how much do you think about that when you're going into
05:45this season like man we did we got a pretty tough draw this year yeah i think it's the nfl
05:51every team
05:52can be a good team or is a good team and you're still going up against guys that are going
05:56to
05:56play to play these positions you know you never know there's always a team that stands out like
06:00i'm sure the media didn't have the patriots going to the super bowl last year i'm sure a lot of
06:04teams
06:05that had us on the schedule were looking at us like oh you know it's the same same old stuff
06:08haven't been great the past couple years and you know we turned it around last year so you never
06:12know you can't pick anybody lightly and you know every obviously we're going to get everybody's
06:15best shot knowing that we were in the super bowl last year but we're looking forward to it
06:19long flight to seattle there do you get to pick who you sit by or how does that go just
06:23random luck of the draw the seats are assigned so uh we will see i haven't gotten that assignment yet
06:28but uh hopefully i get a decent seat you know it's a long flight who are you hoping you don't

06:33to that i don't sit next to probably matt collins i feel like he's the type to just uh i
06:44haven't sat
06:44next to him he's probably the type that probably just stays up the whole time and like plays games
