00:00For Eurasian businesses, Indonesia is a natural entry point to ASEAN.
00:06We are the region's largest market and a hub of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership or RCEP
00:14and now a free trade partner.
00:18Southeast Asia was not always peaceful.
00:22Our region experienced conflict, tension, deep differences.
00:30But then, our leaders recognized that poverty, limited healthcare education, inadequate infrastructure,
00:40and the need to create opportunity were challenges larger than any one of us.
00:48So ASEAN chose consultation over confrontation, cooperation over division.
00:57For almost six decades, that choice has created a peace dividend.
01:04Farmers can produce, factories can operate, ships can sail, businesses can invest, children can go to school, families can plan
01:16for the future.
01:18Indonesia now invites Russia and every EAEU member to help extend that peace dividend
01:27by connecting Eurasia more closely with Southeast Asia.
01:31The Indonesia-EAEU Free Trade Agreement was signed in St. Petersburg on 21 December 2025
01:41by Indonesia, the Union, its five member states, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
01:57It commits my country and the EAEU to eliminate or reduce duties on 11,882 tariff lines,
02:07more than 90% of all goods being traded.
02:12Indonesia has completed parliamentary approval of this FTA,
02:17and last July, I have signed the Presidential Regulation of Ratification.
02:25Let me state our intention plainly.
02:29Indonesia wants this agreement in force and in use
02:33as soon as the exchange of notification allows.
02:40I respectfully call on every EAEU member state to complete its internal procedures
02:47so that we can make use of this agreement as soon as possible.
02:51This agreement is South-South Trade Architecture.
02:55It opens five markets to Indonesian producers
02:58and gives Eurasian producers access to more than 290 million Indonesian consumers.
03:07Indonesian business delegations are here today
03:11to conclude pilot shipments, name buyers, secure logistics,
03:18and settle compliant payment arrangements that make use of this FTA.
03:25It is my intent that when the tariff schedule opens,
03:29the goods, routes, and contracts must already be in place.
03:33This forum must become the marketplace of the agreement.
03:38Excellencies, Russian and Indonesian business delegations
03:42are moving intensively in many directions.
03:46Each visit produces introductions, leads, trust, transactions, and relationship.
03:55Since St. Petersburg last year, this circle of trust has grown.
03:59The task before us is to turn personal trust to institutional trust.
04:06Clear rules, reliable payments, predictable logistics,
04:13and agreements that survive changes of officials.
