00:00The censors are more collected than common sense requirements.
00:02In fact, the National Intelligence Service has assessed that Kim Joo-ae has entered the stage
00:06of being designated as Kim Jong-un's successor.
00:08As North Korea increases the frequency of Kim Joo-ae's public appearances,
00:11there is analysis that the country has now moved beyond simply appearing as a family member
00:14and has begun getting the public to recognize her as a successor.
00:16According to the National Intelligence Service's assessment disclosed at the National Assembly
00:20Intelligence Committee, Kim Joo-ae's frequent exposure in the media appears to be aimed at
00:23imprinting her as the next leader in the minds of North Korean citizens.
00:26In fact, this year Kim Joo-ae has been shown participating in shooting drills and even
00:30appeared in North Korean media, personally operating a new main battle tank.
00:34By continuously showing her involved in military-related activities, it is interpreted that she is
00:38building the image necessary for a leader.
00:39Recently, she was also seen attending a performance with Kim Jong-un at the 73rd anniversary of Victory
00:44Day.
00:44As Kim Joo-ae repeatedly appears at major events attended by Kim Jong-un, it seems that her presence
00:49is being elevated even within North Korea.
00:51Last April, the Director of the National Intelligence Service explained at a closed National Assembly
00:54Intelligence Committee, meaning that it seems reasonable to consider Kim Joo-ae as a successor,
00:57saying that this judgment was based not just on simple circumstances, but on credible philosophy
01:00and intelligence.
01:01However, North Korea is not a society accustomed to having a woman in the position of Supreme
01:05Leader.
01:06In the North Korean system, the Supreme Leader has always been succeeded by men, so a key
01:09obstacle is that Kim Joo-ae would have to overcome internal resistance and reluctance
01:13in order to actually inherit power.
01:15For this reason, some analysts suggest that if Kim Joo-ae seizes power, she may choose a stronger
01:19style of rule than Kim Jong-un.
01:20Another noteworthy point is Kim Joo-ae's age.
01:22Kim Joo-ae is now in her first year of middle school.
01:25This is considered quite early even in North Korea.
01:28Many analysts are concerned that preparations for a successor are progressing faster than
01:31expected.
01:32Because of this, there are also speculations that there may be unexpected changes in Kim
01:35Jong-un's health or the internal power structure of North Korea.
01:38On the other hand, some analysts suggest that Kim Joo-ae's public activities themselves
01:42could be a strategy to conceal a different succession plan.
01:44So there could be another hidden sun, and in order to make this sun the Supreme Leader,
01:48they are intentionally making it look like Kim Joo-ae is the successor.
01:51Then, when the time is right, they will reveal the sun.
01:54In fact, Kim Jong-un himself rose to power in a similar way, and another movement surrounding
01:58North Korea has been detected.
02:00The National Intelligence Service said that a North Korea-U.S. summit could happen at any
02:03time.
02:04And while there is no confirmation of concrete contact between North Korea and the U.S., there
02:07are signs of dialogue.
02:09As North Korea's succession landscape is rapidly changing, and the possibility of dialogue with
02:13the United States is being discussed, we need to pay even closer attention to North Korea's
02:16future booths.
