00:00Let's talk about the response to the Lindsay Clancy case, because the hypocrisy in these
00:07comment sections is wild, y'all.
00:11Statistically, men commit roughly 95% of family annihilation cases in the United States.
00:20And I don't know if you know or not, but I actually co-host a true crime podcast called
00:25Histories of Horror, and we talk about this a lot, and I have a true crime researcher credential
00:32under my belt among many of my other educational certificates and degrees.
00:38And this is something that I know quite a bit about.
00:45This literally happens every five to seven days, and typically with a firearm.
00:50Yet, when the cases hit the news, nobody demands we strip the rights of men or strip them all
00:58of child custody instantly.
01:00The moment a mother suffers a catastrophic psychotic break, a horrific tragedy, extremists
01:09jump out the woodwork.
01:10Suddenly, people are using a rare devastating event to claim we need to repeal the 19th Amendment.
01:20Take custody away from women with postpartum depression, or prove women can't lead.
01:27And that is bad faith political opportunism at its absolute worst.
01:34These men aren't looking for justice.
01:36They are looking for a justification to roll back women's rights.
01:42And beyond social media noise, we need to really look at the actual facts of this case, okay?
01:51Postpartum psychosis is a severe medical emergency.
01:55It involves a total break from reality.
01:58That is why it's called psychosis.
02:01Furthermore, medical reports from the night of the incident raised major questions about
02:07physical trauma, spinal fluid leaks, and brain capacity at the time.
02:13To get a criminal conviction, the prosecution has to prove intent beyond a reasonable doubt.
02:20When severe medical trauma and acute mental breaks are involved, an insanity defense, a reasonable
02:27doubt isn't a loophole.
02:29That's standard legal procedure.
02:32Nobody is minimizing the tragedy of the lives lost here.
02:36But we have to call out the blatant double standard.
02:41Tragic edge cases shouldn't be weaponized to strip women of their autonomy, while systemic
02:48violence is being swept under the rug.
02:51We need real conversation about mental health care and legal justice, not misogynistic talking
02:59points masquerading as concern.
03:02We ain't falling for that.
