04:12I believe one of the greatest gifts we can give is the opportunity we once needed ourself.
04:20I come from a family that has taught me that success is much more when we use it to serve
04:27others.
04:29I grew up surrounded by faith, hard work, and a commitment to serve others.
04:35My name is Johady Mola, and I am a language arts and social studies teacher with a bachelor in business
04:43administration.
04:44And also, I have the blessing to work with Univision 41 New York as a reporter through Ventana Quisqueya.
04:57The woman that worked in my home told me something I never forgot.
05:02She wanted her daughter to have the opportunities that she never had.
05:06And she asked me if I could teach her daughter English.
05:10And I was like, of course, why not?
05:13And I just saw something as, like, teach her some words in English and stuff.
05:19But I never knew that that little girl was going to teach me something.
05:24That it was much greater about my own purpose.
05:31That moment changed my life.
05:33And that's how Voices of Tomorrow was born.
05:36Working with children in vulnerable communities made me understand that English is much more than a language.
05:43English could be a job, could be a scholarship, could be that opportunity that you have been waiting your entire
05:50life.
05:52Since 2018, Voices of Tomorrow has brought English directly to children in vulnerable schools and communities.
06:01We don't wait the children to come to us.
06:04We go to them.
06:05In my country, only 9% of people over the age of 15 speaks English.
06:12In other words, 9 out of 10 over the age of 15 do not speak English.
06:18Today, we have impacted more than 600 lives.
06:23But what it truly means to me is not how many lives we have impact.
06:29Impact is that when I see the kids, that they start believing in their self.
06:35That they come to me and they say, Miss Mola, I did my homework by myself.
06:40Miss, I saw a movie in English and I totally understand it.
06:45The joy that I have in my heart is something that I really can't explain.
06:49We learn through dances.
06:51We learn through singing.
06:54We learn through a lot of many activities and challenges we do in classroom.
06:58Because as a teacher, I could see that all the kids don't learn the same way.
07:03So that's why I created Miss Mola.
07:08I wrote this book with all my heart.
07:11It's a book where the kids can, through activities, understand the language and incentivate their self to learn a second
07:20language.
07:20Like it's English that you can open a lot of opportunities.
07:24And at the same time, you stay in touch with your culture.
07:28The Dominican Republic.
07:30So this is something that really matters to me.
07:34Because when I was a little girl, some teachers, sometimes I just wanted to stand and just say like,
07:42Oh, we're just going to work this and that.
07:45But I didn't have like that interaction that come, let's sing if that's the way that you learn.
07:50Come, let's dance.
07:52Is that the way that you learn?
07:53But today, my dream is to merge my two passions, education and business.
08:01And create a space where the children can have like those tools and can explode that potential that they have.
08:09Because changing life does not always require something extraordinary.
08:14Sometimes you just need that person that comes to you and say, I believe in you.
