00:31So what advice would you give to someone who is wanting to start their own Beauty With A Purpose project?

00:39Good evening to you all ladies and gentlemen. It is such an honor to be standing here

00:45to be one of the finalists for Beauty With A Purpose. The advice that I would give to someone

00:49who wants to start a project is start however small you have. I started with nothing and I took

00:56a step forward to achieve my dreams and I'm here standing on the stage. It takes a little amount

01:01of work to create change as much as we can. So take that step and go forward and your projects

01:07can make it. Thank you. Thank you so much Zimbabwe. And same question for you.

01:16I want you to imagine what would the world be if many underestimate the process of metamorphosis

01:23just like how before it blooms into a beautiful butterfly from a caterpillar. That's the same

01:29exact spirit I carry as a teacher. But before that I was a student who wants to achieve and expand

01:37to my Beauty With A Purpose project. I carry that same spirit to make sure that no matter where the

01:42child is from or what education background, when you have the spirit of to take care of one thing

01:48and the caterpillar that is exact what a Miss World should be. Thank you.

02:04around the world voted for you. They chose you before any judge did. What do you think they saw in

02:11and what do you want to say to them tonight? I'm going to start with Miss World Eritrea.

02:17I believe that these votes are not just numbers. They are a love letter according to my country.

02:25A love letter on behalf of those that see themselves in me as a caregiver for a child with Down

02:31syndrome.

02:32There are love letters that come from a young nation of very few people but see themselves

02:38themselves and represented in this grand stage. And these are love letters that are encouraging me

03:18woman who is resilient and determined to follow a dream. But not just follow that dream, follow it

03:36supporters, Nigerians both home and abroad, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to stand

04:19beauty is not all that, that her purpose is bigger than herself. And as a teacher, I am so happy

04:29bring knowledge to my kids, but I want them to know that life, it's about purpose, serving, and I want

04:37see it in the table. But I want to prepare seats for they can be prepared for life. Thank you.

04:52For the past seven years, I have been working in communities who have been suffering some kind of

04:57urgency, such as a national catastrophe or rare disease. It's a place where few people want to be.

05:03But when I got there, they gave me the best present. They taught me to see beyond what the eyes

05:10can see,

05:10and to listen with the heart. The qualities I believe is essential to have the responsibility

05:16to step in a stage like this. Once Princess Diana said that she wanted to be the queen of people's

05:23heart, and that's exactly the woman I wake up every day wanting to be. I don't know if I win

05:28the crown

05:28tonight, but I hope I have touched your hearts, and I promise I will lead with mine. Thank you so

05:57What's one thing about where you come from that you want the rest of the world to understand,

06:02and how does that show up in the way you carry this title?

06:07I'm going to start with our home country, Vietnam.

06:16There's something that I want the world to know about Asia and Oceania, especially Vietnam,

06:21that we are ready for the world stage. My dream is to become the first Vietnamese woman to carry the

06:29year legacy of Miss World and turning it into a century of beauty with a purpose. Growing up,

06:36I have witnessed my generation inheriting unfair intergenerational debt from climate injustice to

06:42a global absence of peace. The result, the consequences are heartbreaking. Farmers losing their land,

06:48people losing the place that they call home. It hits deeply inside my heart,

06:53and that is why I've decided to take my next step as a master of environmental science and policy

06:58in Columbia University. My dream, my future plan for Miss World platform and for my project Gen Zero

07:06is to use it to maximize it, not only as a communicator, but also as a future policy maker that

07:15I'm

07:15becoming and with the heart and the hope of a humanitarian that I know I am today. So that is

07:22the essence of a

07:23Vietnamese woman that I want to represent this year for Miss World. Congratulations, Asia.

07:52half American. So I know what it is like to represent two sides of a coin. In my country,

07:59we are known for resilience. We are known for hospitality. But I know them for the love of family. And

08:09of any family unit is unity. If I were to bring one value from my country to the world,

08:17it would be unity. Miss World has united 111 countries from around the globe. So I think that this is

08:45have you learned in your country that would be beneficial as an ambassador of Africa to the whole world?

08:51Thank you. Thank you so much for this opportunity. Even just getting this far is incredibly amazing. And I'm

08:59truly grateful. The qualities that I would share as a continental queen of Africa is service. Because

09:07as a queen, I believe one of the most important roles is to serve. My country people, Zambians,

09:14serve everyone, serve everyone. They are warm, they are loving, and they are kind. And that is what I

09:20believe a continental winner should be. And with that kindness, I will be able to come through and

09:28support children living with disabilities through the project that I have been running for over five

09:33years. As a true Zambian, that is the true purpose. And that is an act of service that my people

09:40carry.

10:11to be crowned as Miss World Africa. Simply put, there is absolutely no community that should ever go

10:18without the ability to see hope restored. And that is done in the small things from greeting each other

11:18I believe that being the loudest is not the important. It's that your words go to the heart

11:25of the people. I believe that if you use your platform in a good way, it can reach more people.

11:32So if I would become the next Miss World Europe, I would use my platform to raise awareness,

11:39to speak about important things, the children, the future, our society. So I have the chance to speak up.

11:47I would start for them because they are the future. And I once was a kid that was afraid,

11:53that didn't have access, that didn't have tools. And I believe we need to change that for the better,

15:49for the very first time. I would say the greatest challenge at this time is using social media the

15:55wrong way and not seeing how we could use our opportunities, how we can use our own gifts

16:00science to uplift others and be voices for those that don't have their own voice to advocate for

16:06themselves. As a neuroscientist major, I would love to use science to prove to parents that their

16:13children, regardless of their disability, are capable and have their rightful place in this world. And I

16:19would love to encourage the younger generation to also continue to use their voice to uplift others.

17:33Thank you for the question. My definition of success is my parents who are sitting over there.

17:40My parents are both doctors and they have taught me the value of contribution and sacrifices for others.

17:48I have seen them spend countless nights at the ER trying to save other lives.

17:53And even though I don't follow them as a doctor, I will contribute in another path.

17:59And the path that I have chosen is to become a policy maker,

18:02because I have seen many countries losing their home, their lands.

18:06Tuvalu is going to sing in 50 years. But I don't want to bring great gifts.

18:15And the hope that I'm seeing is in the young people who will reshape the future

19:02If I would meet someone for my beauty with a purpose, I would mean Josephine Baker.

19:08I believe she is a woman that has done a lot for this sport. She was a brave black woman

19:15that actually

19:16my grandma knows because she worked with her and she helped others. She fought for equality,

19:24for not only black people, but for security, for everyone, for peace. I'm a person that seeks for peace.

19:32I'm a person that seeks for equality. My beauty with a purpose, dyslexia, something I have since I was born,

19:39is something I want for everyone, for the kids, for adults, because it's something you're born with,

19:46with, but also something you die with. So she would be obviously someone I would love to meet

19:52just to get to know and to learn. Thank you very much.

20:18Hello. Having spent time here with people from all over the world, what are you taking away from this experience?

20:30After interacting with more than a hundred women at Miss world, I have learned so many different things.

20:36But one thing I have seen throughout all of them is the resilience that women carry.

20:40I have heard stories of how some have come from absolutely nothing, but made it their life's mission to help

20:47others.

20:47I've seen how others have chosen to be courageous enough to try, even when they felt like they were not

20:53good enough.

20:54And I have also seen how through failure others have risen. And like myself, I have chosen to be resilient

21:01throughout.

21:02And I'm hoping that others will be able to not only see my story, but see the women that have

21:07stood on the stage as a symbol of not only resilience,

21:10but of what is possible when women are given opportunities to shine and invest in our communities. Thank you.

22:00I'm so, I'm so happy. My beauty with a purpose is to take English program to kids in vulnerable communities,

22:09because I believe that when they know this language, the opportunities that get the doors that can open to their

22:15life.

22:16It's a huge big doors because I was talking to the girls and telling them that thanks to that tool,

22:23we are here.

22:23We have the tool to express our feelings, to express our purpose.

22:30And for me, it's something that I will take always in my heart that I could give those kids something

22:37very important.
