00:00you're going to be watching these quarterbacks all year we know that uh we certainly will be
00:04paying attention as well and everyone kind of has their favorites i think there's some obvious ones
00:09like a lot of people arch is just number one because it's arch and it's a manning and all
00:13those things i think you know dante more certainly up there but i'm curious i know you had a list
00:19kind of going into this week but as things stand one week into this thing after getting their first
00:23performances under your belt what is your how are you kind of ranking these quarterbacks these
00:31these quarterbacks that we're all talking about potentially being in the draft next year well
00:33obviously when you do quarterbacks there's got to be a level of production and there's also got to
00:38be a level of potential and what they can be at the nfl level my number one quarterback hasn't
00:42changed it's lenore sellers well he was awesome so that makes sense and he's uh and he's just uh he
00:47physically he played really well and physically he's so gifted at 6 3 240 a lot of josh allen in
00:52there for me i thought we saw in this game this weekend and and i understand like it wasn't you
00:57know south carolina wasn't playing they're playing ken they were playing ken it wasn't like they were
01:01playing that's how you take care of business against a maxco by the way but it wasn't like
01:06they were playing some you know you know powerhouse team but the one thing i noticed was there was a
01:11couple times where there was some pressure and he stepped up in the pocket and like navigated that
01:16well and then still threw a nice ball at times and those are some of the things that i think
01:21he needed to improve on it was like his pocket awareness his pocket presence so i thought that
01:25was good because the thing with lenore sellers i think you even said it like there's the josh allen
01:30traits in there but the thing with josh allen was he was so raw nobody knew if anyone could hone
01:34that in
01:35if he can hone that in man somebody's getting a really gifted quarterback next year so i i'm with
01:41you i i liked his performance he was really really solid this week yeah and then my number two guy
01:44has
01:45not changed it's dante moore out of oregon again six three two oh six all the physical tools um that
01:50offense is really really pro ready so i i thought he was really good uh my third guy who's kind
01:56of in
01:56kind of reaching number two uh is my ava out of usc uh it's dan lobby's guy uh over at
02:03cleveland.com
02:04two good games he's uh really again six four 230 fits all the uh framework good feet uh number four
02:11i have arch manning and for me arch is uh he's got to go do it he had a great
02:16end of the year last
02:17year but if his last name isn't manning uh how good is he i don't know i'm looking i think
02:21saturday
02:22night's a huge one against the zohia state defense for him uh and then i got in my number five
02:27is
02:27different than most i got john mature uh there's a lot of baker mayfield in there for john mature i
02:32know you like i always like mature and then a guy who's moving up uh and will probably be in
02:37the
02:37top five by the end of the year is uh mensa the kid out of uh yeah uh miami really
02:42really talented
02:43guy uh six three two oh five i kind of heard him as a gun for hire uh you know
02:47because he's kind of
02:48been all over the place but he's really talented and then people asking me about cam war had the
02:52same arc and cam warren that'd be the number one overall pick so i don't know that i'm and then
02:56a
02:56guy that didn't do much but wasn't awesome in the first half last tj car i thought he played
03:02much better in the second half that second that second uh first drive the second half was outstanding
03:06uh then for me the hardest guy to evaluate in this draft and it's a it's a compliment to their
03:11team is is there is saying uh julian saying it's hard to evaluate because you know like for example
03:15he throws he throws a back shoulder fade to smith that's a really hard throw but you immediately go
03:21well it's smith right and it's it's a hard evaluation uh he always has clean pockets you know
03:26they it's just a really hard evaluation because you just don't know i'm looking forward to seeing him
03:31uh as they move forward against some you know some really good teams again another i mean you talk
03:35about a good quarterback matchup uh texas osu is a really if you're looking for guys next year
03:40that's a great one this weekend yeah saying's interesting i'll give you who my favorite
03:44quarterback was from the weekend uh we want yours as well 216-474-0092 who was your what was your
03:52favorite quarterback performance at the college level from the weekend as as browns people browns as we're
04:01all in the brown sphere we're all kind of paying attention to these guys and the with the idea that
04:04they
04:04might draft one next year lance gave you his list at the top of it was uh lenora sellers he
04:10had
04:10dante moore he had uh jade mayava and he said rising the ranks is darian mensa down in miami now
04:18after spending last season at duke uh so my favorite performance on the weekend i actually think was i
04:23would i would say was dante moore i thought moore played in a game and here's the reason i feel
04:31that
04:31way lance i think boise state was better than people like they're not ranked but i think boise
04:38state's a better opponent than most of these other teams played this weekend and they challenged oregon
04:44but in some of those key moments of a game where it was like oh man you make a mistake
04:48you turn the
04:49ball over you do something wrong you could flip this game the other direction you might lose this
04:54thing he looked as poised as ever like he was he was confident very good in terms of like he
05:00was
05:0028 to 37 378 yards three touchdowns just seemed like he was there was no turnovers in a very tight
05:06game where you were going to win or lose the margins he seemed like he was kind of executing
05:11everything the right way and it took them a little bit of time to get going the first half was
05:14a little
05:15slow for them so i actually thought dante moore was probably my favorite performance the weekend
05:18not that others weren't better than him mensa as you brought up um being one of those i think sellers
05:25was even better statistically but you know it just felt like given the level of opponent
05:33i really liked what dante moore brought to the table in terms of the rest of my list like i
05:38love
05:38lenore sellers i'm interested to see him develop a little bit more this year and if he can be something
05:43of a josh allen type so i love him he's up there for me i thought he was great this
05:47weekend i thought
05:48jade mayava he he's a guy that i kind of had my eye on is like honorable mention on my
05:53if i was doing
05:54like a top three or five like hey let's see what he can do he's been awesome these first two
05:58games
05:59and i agree with you on mensa sort of rising up the boards arch was good but here i'm gonna
06:04be
06:04honest man the more and more i think about the more and more i think arch isn't coming out this
06:08year
06:08i think he's gonna be class of 2028 i'm i'm being dead serious i i know earl and i talked
06:13about this
06:13on saturday it just feels like the mannings have a tendency to the the ones we always talk about i
06:21know
06:21they're not they're not he's not eli's kid he's not peyton's kid but the mannings have always stayed
06:26like four years in college and on top of that you have like if they don't win a championship i
06:33could
06:33see him being like i want to come back unfinished business if he doesn't win like the heisman i could
06:37see him being like unfinished business and wanting to come back and here's the other thing because of
06:41his name the thing that he has that others don't his name like the staying power is going to be
06:47there
06:47you know what i mean if he comes out this year if he came out if he'd come out this
06:50year if he came
06:51out this next year if he comes out two years from now because his last name is manning that's always
06:57going to have some weight to it people are always going to just assume he's going to be eli he's
07:02going to be peyton he's going to be the next great manning so it doesn't really matter when he comes
07:06out
07:06he's going to be a top pick you know what i mean like as long as he's playing quarterback at
07:10a high
07:11level he's going to be a top pick maybe number one overall so i don't think it really matters when
07:15he
07:16comes out i i think that's the one thing for him that he doesn't have to worry about like he
07:21could
07:21use another year of developing it's only going to help him because he's a manning that makes sense
07:25well yeah there's there's a couple ways to look at it for me the number one thing that that i
07:29think
07:30about is nil so nil to me has made uh made there's a lot of good that's come with nil
07:36but there's a lot
07:37of bad as well it's kind of turned into the wild wild west right so uh it's just the highest
07:41spender i
07:42have uh i have friends who coach in college football at major college football uh that don't
07:47talk to parents anymore that don't talk to high school coaches they only talk to agents and things
07:51like that so uh the one thing that i will say that i really like about nil is that i
07:55think you're going
07:56to get some better quarterback play moving forward because these kids can stay in school and develop
08:01and come out a little bit older get some more starts under their belt which i think is huge because
08:06they're going to get developed now that the nfl is running more college type stuff with the rpos and things
08:11of that nature but they're simply getting more reps and when you get more reps you're better and
08:17um so yeah i think if their chance he'll stay is do they not win a championship but i just
08:22think is he
08:23you know where is he going to get picked and you know this is a super talented class uh as
08:27of right
08:28now we'll see what happens at the end of the year but nil he's making big money he doesn't have
08:32to
08:32worry about the money aspect of things which is uh uh pretty good can i give you one quarterback
08:37that's under the radar connor wegman from houston 20 of 30 this week against oregon state wasn't he
08:43at one point super super athletic 6-3 about 215 i got him number 10 on my board absolutely no
08:49one
08:49talks about him absolutely love him he'll rise up the boards too i know everyone's talking about
08:53mess to maker at uh at oklahoma he was i mean you look at his i didn't think he played
08:57a great game
08:57yeah you think about him at north texas it was ridiculous uh you know type stats but yeah i
09:02counter wegman messed to maker but wegman is a guy who is super he's got great feet in the pocket
09:08he can run the ball well uh that's a guy you can watch as you know they're 23 in the
09:12country as
09:13as they move along uh he's going to be a name everybody uh notices
