00:02A routine school pick-up turned unimaginable tragedy.
00:06A car full of children, two of whom will never return home.
00:10This is just a really sad set of circumstances. Very sad.
00:14It was just before 4pm yesterday when the eight-seater four-wheel drive rolled off the road in Parlon.
00:20Scenes of raw emotion as loved ones learned that frantic rescue efforts to save a little girl had been in
00:26vain.
00:26Sarah El Hauli died at the scene. She was just seven years old.
00:31Her relative, 11-year-old Osama El Hauli, was airlifted to hospital, but overnight he too succumbed to his injuries.
00:39Heartbreakingly, it's understood his 34-year-old mother had been behind the wheel.
00:44Today, she joined grieving family at the Royal Children's Hospital where the five other kids,
00:49a toddler, three primary school boys and a teenage boy, are being treated but as stable.
00:54From my understanding, the scene was quite hectic with family coming as well.
00:59Obviously with seven children, they were distressed and they were cared for by paramedics, members of the public and police.
01:06The Australian Islamic Centre said the children were beloved young members of the community.
01:10In a post writing,
01:11Our hearts are with their parents, family and loved ones as they face an unimaginable loss.
01:17The Aulaman College that some of the children had attended said its focus too is supporting the family and school
01:23community.
01:24Meanwhile, police are turning their focus to just how this possibly happened.
01:29The vehicle inexplicably rolled. We don't know why.
01:32This is a relatively long, flat and straight stretch of Narawi Road here with no apparent potholes in the area.
01:40Family members have told us they believe the driver had swerved to avoid a rock.
01:45While police wouldn't confirm whether that was a line of inquiry,
01:48they have said that no other cars were involved and that it does not appear that speed, drugs or alcohol
01:55were factors in this tragedy.
01:57The families impacted tonight processing their grief along with hope for those who survived.
