00:00you know we taught me there's a lot i'm just saying up there that's that it's been a while
00:04since it's been that moved darius mccallum born in 1965 is an autistic man from brooklyn that
00:09developed a lifelong obsession with trains buses and many other forms of public transit
00:13his passion for them was so intense that he supposedly memorized the entire new york subway
00:18map by the age of eight years old which i mean i put up a picture of a new york
00:23subway map
00:23at eight despite this he was repeatedly rejected when trying to get a job with the metropolitan
00:28transportation authority the mta his run-ins with the law started at age 15 when he convinced a
00:34subway driver to let him take over during a ride to the world trade center but 911 was a national
00:39tragedy over time he began routinely finding ways to carry out public transit rides and maintenance
00:45despite never being employed in the field those who have witnessed this however claimed that he was
00:49always polite and friendly but regardless posters warning to look out for darius would appear
00:53throughout train stations and this wouldn't stop the train junkie who would often successfully
00:57impersonate transit workers in order to drive buses and subway trains all while adhering to the
01:02proper procedures required by an actual employed driver the guy knew what he was doing well why
01:07don't yeah why don't they give him a job what the is it a thing where well there's a couple
01:11reasons
01:11one is it because the way that he presents himself being an autistic guy is just social cues
01:16are weird almost so this is also he's 15 so we're talking it's in the 80s so i mean the
01:20person's like
01:21why is he talking like that i don't like him what the is this yeah speak normal that kind of
01:26thing
01:26this would become a fascinating pattern for darius one where he would serve time in prison only to
01:31eventually leave get caught for the same crime and be sent right back after how long are you in
01:36prison for well i guess if it's you're dealing with people that are riding the train what the
01:40mother knows what he's doing what are we what's he doing he's been charged for impersonation on
01:44multiple occasions as well as trespassing on restricted parts of the subway stations in his own mta
01:49gear and by 2010 darius saw that the driver of a bus in new jersey left the keys in the
01:53ignition
01:53leading to a two-hour joy ride and eventual arrest the police officers involved claimed he was very
01:58intelligent and acted like a gentleman during the entire confrontation a similar crime was
02:02committed in 2015 when he stole and rode a greyhound bus for two hours before being arrested again
02:07while held in the station house he excitedly told detectives i'm stealing a plane next
02:12see there's that autistic social cue where you're like keep that in your mind buddy lock that tight
02:16after racking up 30 arrests commandeering an estimated 5 000 transportation vehicles and spending about
02:22a third of his life behind bars it was decided that darius would be moved to a secure psychiatric
02:26center in 2018. give him a job just let the guy drive a bus the thing too is like he
02:33in none of these
02:34cases did he ever endanger anyone why would what is the mta let's email him let's email unmask why
02:39why wasn't darius allowed a job we should ask for a reason there's gotta be something out there
02:43despite darius's defense attorney best efforts she fears that he may never be released and given a
02:48proper treatment i'm sad i'm sad now i was yeah i did not know it was going to turn out
02:53this way
02:53he needs a fully decked out bus simulator oh oh my god how did i not oh my god if
03:01you just put it
03:02in his apartment have the city pay for it oh i didn't even think about that hit with the steering
03:07wheel and you can do all the simulator give him three rigs i have a i honestly feel safer with
03:11him
03:11out in the streets driving the goddamn buses you know how many i mean the amount of drivers i've been
03:16i've been on a couple buses and a couple yeah i've been to new york a couple times these
03:19motherfuckers don't look like they're having a good time no they're in it for the money darius
03:23is the passion the sheer passion he's like the other guy people who love trains man you know you
03:27got to get the utmost respect we should start a gofundme to bail him out pay his bail we should
03:31fucking buy him some rigs if they would they even allow that they probably would have allowed it in
03:35and if they did they someone would probably with it i don't trust this see all those goons that work
03:39up there at a psychiatric center yeah darius we'll be quick and see that's when the violence would happen
03:44we can't do it next it would cause violence oh i say that's justifiable via violence from darius
03:49if they're touching his rig and it was for him turn note to him dear darius you have been wrongfully
03:54brought to this psychiatric center so we're gifting you three seven thousand dollar gaming rigs i hope
04:01and then parentheses i hope you know how to set this up ps check under the seat and then ps
04:05check under
04:06the seat and there's a shiv and it says pss if anyone touches this besides you hurt them love pm
04:14what the heck is this what is it can you imagine your your what is he he's in his 60s
