00:14good evening you're watching india first i'm gaurab stavan on this special broadcast we expose
00:20a state sponsor of radical islamist terror that's pakistan trying to pull wool over the eyes of the
00:26global community especially the financial action task force that meets in parish for its plenary
00:32and working group meetings between the 26th and 30th of october 2026 so one month before the fatf
00:40meeting pakistan's federal investigation agency has updated its list of most wanted terrorists
00:46and the man you see on your television screen that maulana of terror masood azhar he's a un designated
00:52terrorist now has an increased award of 70 lakh pakistani rupees not that 70 lakh pakistani rupees
00:59holds much value but that's the award for any information leading to either his arrest or death
01:06pakistan has lied about this maulana of terror to the world and repeatedly so maulana masood azhar
01:14is wanted in india for a series of terror attacks from the 2001 jammu and kashmir assembly attack to
01:22the attack on the indian parliament later that year 13th of december 2001 from pulwama terror attacks to
01:29patankot terror attacks and for repeatedly sending highly radicalized terrorists into india to massacre
01:37innocent people as part of his so-called islamic jihad against the kafir india or kafir hindus or
01:44non-believers of india that is the mindset of this terrorist that pakistan protects incidentally
01:51pakistan too has registered multiple cases against masood azhar but that was under global pressure
01:57but pakistan refuses to act against him on the contrary pakistani generals in uniform and we'll show
02:04you images we'll show you videos and photographs of pakistani generals in uniform attending funerals of
02:12terrorists and their family members after india's operation sindoor now sitting in pakistan this maulana
02:20of terror has spewed venom against india he spoke of bleeding india and yet pakistan government refuses
02:27to take action against him and this despite the fact that jaysha muhammad a un designated global
02:35terrorist organization a terrorist organization that he heads was accused of being involved in the plot
02:42to assassinate former pakistani army chief and military dictator general parvez musharaf and this is
02:49not intelligence-based information general musharaf in an interview had said jaysha muhammad was the
02:55terrorist organization that carried out suicide attacks to assassinate him in december 2003
03:00general pusharaf in an interview said that he wanted to take action against this maulana of terror
03:06and against jaysha muhammad but pakistan isi opposed him so imagine how sick is a country like pakistan
03:15that when a terrorist tries to assassinate the army chief military dictator and president of pakistan
03:22the pakistan the pakistan army says oh please don't take action against him why according to
03:28parvez musharaf because jaysha muhammad was being used by pakistan isi for terror attacks inside india
03:36we are not saying it parvez musharaf said so the question arises will pakistan that uses terrorists to
03:45bleed india take action against its own strategic asset clearly no and this action the sham action
03:55of an award on him a terror red book 19 accused of mumbai terror attacks being put on there in
04:01that red
04:02book all of this is only to fool the west it's to fool western powers it's to fool the united
04:10states of
04:10america that is unable to see the ground reality of pakistan imagine pakistan was hiding osama bin laden
04:18in abatabad and taking billions of dollars from the united states of america pakistan was shielding the
04:26terrorists those terrorists who were involved in killing u.s civilians thousands of u.s civilians in the
04:349-11 terror attacks in new york and hundreds if not thousands of u.s soldiers subsequently in afghanistan
04:44and yet america does not see this ground reality about pakistan and the terrorists pakistan supports
04:51the ministry of external affairs in india clearly is not taken in by this pakistani double speak and the
04:58double games that pakistan plays and the ministry of external affairs exposed pakistan for such gimmicks
05:04of the terror red book or the phony announcements of enhanced awards leading to any arrest of these
05:12terrorists listen in to randir jaiswal additional secretary and spokesperson in the ministry of external
05:18affairs as he exposes pakistan and its double games
05:25all that i would say is that such gimmicks and hoodwinking by pakistan is not new
05:32we have seen such gimmicks in the past as well state sponsor of terror or for a state sponsor of
05:39terror to make announcement phony announcement it is we all know how hollow it is they must take action
05:45and not not make phony announcements which was of no consequence
05:51many of our viewers are very young and they may not know the backgrounder and the background of
05:57this maulana of terror masood azhar so let me tell you a little about him in 1994 this pakistani
06:06terrorist entered india on a forged portuguese passport he was then a senior functionary of senior
06:14terrorist of the harkatul ansar what was his mission his mission was to travel to jammu and kashmir
06:20and bring together various terrorist organizations that were operating in jammu and kashmir and those
06:27were very difficult times in jammu and kashmir imagine there was a time when terrorists actually had
06:33their offices in downtown srinagar when terrorists would actually roam around with their weapons
06:40near dull lake at that boulevard in in srinagar we've come a long way and it's been a very
06:47difficult journey and that is why these perpetrators of terror must never be forgiven they must never be
06:52forgotten in fact efforts must be made that they meet their maker very quickly but terrorists made
07:00repeated attempts to secure his release after he was arrested it was a very difficult operation when
07:08he was arrested and braves made the supreme sacrifice of their lives there were repeated attempts by
07:14terrorist groups to secure masood azhar's release in fact in 1994 foreign nationals were kidnapped in an
07:20attempt to force his release in 1995 al faran kidnappers of western tourists in kashmir again
07:27demanded that masood azhar be released that will give you an idea of how big he is in the terror
07:32hierarchy there were unsuccessful attempts to break him out of jail india did not release him azhar remained
07:39behind bars until the hijack of ic814 kargil war in 1999 pakistan claimed it wanted better ties with india
07:50but then they used terror they hijacked an indian alliance plane ic814 was an indian
07:57alliance aircraft that was hijacked and hijacked and then taken to kandahar this was the time the
08:02hostage crisis that ensued the amount of pressure that was mounted that these terrorists were released
08:10once released that maulana of terror masood azhar omar saeed sheikh and mustaq ahmad zargar
08:18they were back in pakistan the headquarters pakistan is like the global headquarters of terror it's like
08:27the best place terrorists can be so in 2000 he founded a terrorist organization called the
08:34jaishem mohammad pakistan is like the oxbridge of terror it has lashkar
08:38it has the jaishem mohammad so it has the oxford of terror it has the cambridge of terror the oxbridge
08:44of terror april 2000 suicide bombing outside the 15 core headquarters in srinagar four indian soldiers
08:50made the supreme sacrifice of their lives october 2001 many see october 2001 and these are all
08:57terrorist attacks that we've covered on ground october 2001 there was a suicide attack jammu and kashmir
09:03state assembly in srinagar 38 people were killed and many saw that as an exercise exercise a trial run
09:13for a bigger attack what was the bigger attack barely two months later terror reached the heart of indian
09:20democracy the temple of indian democracy december 13 2001 terrorists attacked the parliament of india
09:2614 people including eight brave security personnel were killed india officially lists the parliament
09:33attack among the terror attacks carried out by jaishem mohammad under this maulana of terror masood azhar
09:40he's been active he's been sending terrorists into our country year after year january 2016 for
09:47example terror struck again terrorists from pakistan attacked the pathankot airbase seven security
09:52personnel were killed 37 injured masood azhar was subsequently charge sheeted by the national
09:59investigation agency in the pathankot airbase attack september 2016 the uri terror attack an army base
10:07was attacked in jammu and kashmir 19 soldiers made the supreme sacrifice of their lives the army's
10:13initial assessment identified the attackers as terrorists belonging to jaishem mohammad february 14
10:202019 the pulvama terror attack a suicide bomber rammed an explosive laden vehicle into a crpf convoy 40
10:29personnel were killed jaishem mohammad actually claimed responsibility but there was a forensic investigation a
10:35detailed investigation that was done and it led back to jaishem mohammad and bahawalpur
10:43pakistan today wants the world to believe it does not know where this maulana of terror masood azhar is
10:48but over the years report after report intelligence assessment assessment after intelligence assessment has
10:56proven that this maulana of terror lives in pakistan 2019 pakistan's foreign minister
11:02shah maimood khoreshi he publicly admitted that masood azhar was in pakistan he claimed that the terror
11:09chief was so unwell that he couldn't even leave his house this is a pakistani minister in 2024 an india
11:17today investigation found evidence that masood azhar was not only active he was active in pakistan he
11:23attended a wedding gathering in bahawalpur incidentally jaishem mohammad is headquartered in the southern
11:29part of pakistan's panchab province in bahawalpur he even delivered a speech there then operation sindoor
11:35may 2025 after india decided and this is perhaps one of the finest decisions of the narendra modi government
11:44to hit terror at source because we did not do that when 26 11 mumbai terror attacks happened we did
11:50not do that when the temple of a democracy was attacked we held back for whatever reason
11:57but after pehalgaam first after pulwama and then after pehalgaam india decided to hit terror at source
12:06at the cradle of terror hit the oxbridge of terror both muridke and bahawalpur were targeted
12:14eyewitnesses said that masood azhar actually appeared for the funeral of his family members
12:20reports said there were senior pakistani military officials who were present at that funeral two
12:25months later intelligence inputs placed masood azhar a thousand kilometers away in skardu in gilgit
12:33baltistan in pakistan occupied jammu and kashmir that pakistan claims are its northern areas recent
12:40reports seem to indicate that he's in sindh in pakistan what is he doing recruiting terrorists
12:47why to bleed india the ground reality pakistan claims it is a victim of terror and yet the factual
12:59position pakistan remains a state sponsor of radical islamist terror trying to hoodwink the world
13:07excuse me the question remains will the world be fooled again i want to cut across to india
13:13today's arvind ojha who's getting us details of this red book which also has names of 19 terrorists
13:20involved in the 2611 mumbai terror attacks yeah jo 19 nam hai satra ki tasweere bhi hai in ke
13:28rand
20:33and that they have to see their policies and that's why it's not happening that you have no harm to
20:40them.
20:41No, you said it completely right.
20:44And Sandeep, it actually defies logic.
20:46A terrorist organization and individuals who were involved in an attempt to assassinate a Pakistan army chief.
20:54Imagine, so there was this Pakistan army veteran on Arzu Kazmi's show
20:58and who said there is nothing against Masood Azhar.
21:01The same Pakistan army officer should explain Parvez Musharraf, Pakistan army chief, military dictator and president,
21:09said that Jaisa Muhammad tried to assassinate him but they could not take action against him
21:13because they were used as proxies against India.
21:17It just defies logic how sick this Pakistani mindset is.
21:21They don't acknowledge their dead soldiers in Kargil, they don't accept their dead elsewhere,
21:26they don't even acknowledge that terrorists were involved in killing their own generals
21:30or trying to kill their generals.
21:32Well, Gaurav, you know, there's a well thought out strategy.
21:35It is a Pakistan army strategy that's been in play from 1947 onwards.
21:40So, if you see from 1947-48, the raiders, the Kabailis, they were led by Pakistan army.
21:46It was passed off as a non-state actor attack.
21:48In 1965, you have special forces disguised as Mujahideen who were all caught up, you know,
21:55caught by villagers and handed over to the security forces.
21:58In 1999, again, you have the so-called Mujahideen who are actually northern light infantry soldiers
22:04who were infiltrated into Kargil.
22:06In the four decades nearly of these so-called Fidain attacks in India, the non-state actors,
22:13these are all terrorists that have been recruited from Pakistan's Punjab province.
22:18They're not Kashmiris.
22:19They're not Indians.
22:20They're all from Pakistan's Punjab province.
22:22And it is groups like the Lashkar and the Jaish-e-Mohmat,
22:25which have been nurtured by the Pakistan army and its ISI, to give them plausible deniability.
22:32Now, they consider them as strategic assets.
22:35If you talk to our people who have served there, they say that they walk around like paramilitary
22:40forces walk around in India.
22:42They're called Sarkari Mujahideen.
22:44And Pakistan has two strategic assets, the Pakistan army, actually.
22:48They have nuclear weapons and they have these so-called non-state actors.
22:53And over the years, they've developed this policy of nuclear weapons-enabled terrorism,
22:59where the nuclear weapons are used to shield these low-cost assets that they run, these
23:05low-lifes of the Lashkar and Jaish, to give them plausible deniability.
23:09And I think what happened after Sindhu Prime Minister Modi calling out this entire business
23:14of nuclear blackmail, the state and non-state actor nonsense, all of these have been called
23:20out, new red lines have been drawn.
23:23And the Pakistan state is trying to figure out, the Pakistan military, rather, has been
23:27trying to figure out a new strategy, how to use these people.
23:32Yes.
23:33There are 39 UN-designated terrorists are sheltering in Pakistan.
23:37True.
23:37Dawud Ibrahim, Maulana Masood, those are…
23:42Hafiz Saeed.
23:43Hafiz Saeed.
23:44Yes.
23:44There are, you know, literally snakes of all views that are being reared by the Pakistan
23:49army.
23:50Hillary Clinton called it out in 2011.
23:52You're rearing snakes in your backyard.
23:54But this is a very well-known international fact.
23:57And we all know…
23:58No, but how is the world fooled year after year after year is the question.
24:02Because, Sushant Sareen, Americans are expected to know better.
24:06It was the biggest manhunt in the world.
24:09And where was that terrorist found Osama bin Laden?
24:14In Abbottabad.
24:15Barely 100 meters from Pakistan military academy Kakul.
24:19The same Osama bin Laden involved in the killing of thousands of US civilians in 9-11.
24:24And thousands of US soldiers in Afghanistan.
24:27America is expected to know better.
24:30You know, Gaurav, the problem with the Americans is when they want to play dumb, they play dumb.
24:36So, for example, when they actually start insisting on the Pakistanis and hold their feet to fire,
24:43then they shut up people like Sajid Mir and present him and convict him.
24:49But when they want to soft-pedal a particular issue, then they don't ask the tough questions.
24:54So, for example, if the Pakistanis now claim that they're looking for Masood Asar,
24:59who's a terrorist according to this Red Book, then they should ask,
25:03what have you done to catch him?
25:06How many raids have you conducted?
25:08How many of his known SSC raids have you apprehended and interrogated?
25:12And what is the result of those interrogations?
25:15How much of his property have you seized?
25:17How much of these actions have you taken?
25:20So, start asking the tough questions.
25:22And the Americans, when they start asking these questions, the Pakistanis will swarm, right?
25:27But they will not ask these questions because right now they've decided that they are going to make use of
25:32the Pakistanis.
25:32I don't know for what, because the Americans don't seem to have understood that for 20 years the Pakistanis stabbed
25:39them in the back with their treachery.
25:41Now, if you still want to go back, then you suffer from the abused wife syndrome, which I keep saying
25:45that the Americans suffer from.
25:46But if I can't, you know, they need psychiatric help if they suffer from an abuse wife syndrome, I'm not
25:53a psychiatrist, I can't help them.
25:55But the fact of the matter remains that this kind of…
25:59Yeah, because it actually defies logic.
25:59It just defies logic.
26:00Because the Americans know how they've been led up the guarded path.
26:03And repeatedly, repeatedly, you know, American generals have said Pakistanis have stabbed them in the back in Afghanistan.
26:11Every US commanding general in Afghanistan has exposed Pakistan's double games.
26:17And yet, America doesn't seem to realize this.
26:19But be that as it may, I'm so glad India did Operation Sindhur to target terrorism.
26:26First, Balakot and then Operation Sindhur. That was so essential.
26:30But Arzu Kazmi, look at Pakistan's ministries.
26:33One of your ministries says, he's a big disease, Masood Azhar.
26:37Now he's not a terrorist.
26:39Now he's got his kidney, his kidney transplant.
26:41Then someone says, yes, he's in Afghanistan.
26:45Then someone says, he's out of Afghanistan.
26:48Now he doesn't know where he is.
26:49And then he sees that when Operation Sindhur happened,
26:52He said, no, he's gone and Blood .
27:00He says it's, we have seen his own développirs.
27:06He said, how was it?
27:06Although a judge did not happen,
27:09But one thing involved Hey.
27:11He made, he made his Live
27:19I am sorry, Mr. Zahir, Hafiz Saitz, I am not.
27:23I have not been able to create a few of them.
27:27With Pakistan, how does it control the power of his country?
27:34That if our country, if Pakistan is attacked, he is a terrorist, or freedom fighter.
27:42He is a leader, and Hafiz Saitz, he is a freedom fighter.
28:09I don't think so.
28:11I don't think so.
28:17But Sushant, you wanted to come in and I sincerely hope that this policy of imposing costs on Pakistan Army,
28:25you keep increasing costs for Pakistan Army, you'll be safer.
28:29But be that as it may, Sushant Sarin, you wanted to come in.
28:32Yeah, I just wanted to make one very quick point.
28:34If the chief of the Pakistan Army, the self-appointed field marshal, is himself a Maulana Masood Azhar clone, what
28:45do you expect?
28:45Do you really expect them to do something about it?
28:48The Pakistan Army is a bunch of thugs in uniform who pander to these terrorists.
28:54They have been using these terrorists, they have been doing business with them, and every time the heat comes on
29:02them, they say somebody's run off to Afghanistan.
29:05And the Taliban themselves have denied that they have absolutely no presence, there's absolutely no presence of the Jais guys
29:12in Afghanistan.
29:13And our own people have, you know, said that the Taliban have been perfectly upfront, they have not allowed the
29:23territory to be used against India at all, right?
29:26So, the reason why the Pakistanis blame the Afghanistan, one is to drive a wedge between the government of India
29:33and the Islamic Emirate, and secondly, because they think that nobody's going to trust the Taliban and their deniers.
29:40So, you shove it onto them, and you keep this guy in the bed of Asim Muneer, and, you know,
29:45you have the best of both worlds.
29:48In fact, the ground reality is, both the credibility and the currency of Afghanistan is much stronger than Pakistan.
29:57But, Sandeep, FIA listing of Masood Azhar comes ahead of this October 26-30 FATF meeting.
30:05Pakistan was removed from FATF grey list in 2022.
30:09How much credibility will international observers actually attach to this move, given the timing of the move?
30:16Just one month before that meeting.
30:19Well, this is something that Pakistan does very well, Gaurav.
30:22We have seen that in the past.
30:23The minute they were taken off the FATF list, all of these things have, you know, all is forgiven.
30:30And now, you know, the worrisome part is, Gaurav, as Tushant mentioned, it is the United States that needs Pakistan
30:37now for various reasons.
30:39They need them for, you know, secret wars, to fight secret wars, to mediate peace in Iran.
30:45So, Pakistan, the Pakistan army uses such moments, such opportune moments, whether it is 1975, Ziaul Haqq, whether it's 2001,
30:56the global war on terror, General Musharraf, and now Asim Munir with the war in West Asia.
31:03The Pakistan military always uses external crisis to kind of paper over its internal threats, its non-state, so-called
31:11non-state actors and all.
31:12So, this is particularly exactly that.
31:15They believe that they can ride out this crisis.
31:18They just have to make some perpentry statements and, you know, issue some red books, and everything will be as
31:23normal.
31:24Because, you know, I am, after all, President Trump's favorite field marshal.
31:29I think that is going to be the endeavor all through.
31:31Until the time that the U.S. loses interest in Pakistan or doesn't believe that Pakistan is useful, you know,
31:38as we've seen in the past.
31:39And it's discarded and possibly some other country takes that path.
31:42But until then, I think it's going to be really difficult for the FATF to crack down on Pakistan, on
31:48sheltering.
31:49You know, usually they say where there is a will, there is a way.
31:52Does the world lack that will right now?
31:55Now, even though Pakistani terrorists have footprints in the United Kingdom, in other parts of Europe, in Canada,
32:03Tahavar Hussain Rana was a Lashkar-e-Taiva sleeper cell in Canada.
32:07David Coleman Headley was a Lashkar-e-Taiva sleeper cell in the United States of America.
32:11That Pakistani Air Vice Marshal's son who tried to set off a bomb at the World Trade Center in New
32:17York.
32:17You know, he's, again, a Pakistani link to terror in America.
32:22But Arzu, kabhi Pakistan ne socha hai ki UN-designated global terrorists,
32:29United Nations ki terrorists ki list mein karib 200 naam hai,
32:33sab se zhaadha naam us mein Pakistani, lag-bag 140 naam, 140 names are individuals and entities linked to Pakistan.
32:42Inka Pakistan connection, matlab Pakistan ko terror walmart, nuclear walmart, terror epicenter,
32:50is tarah ki shabd kiyo bole jathe hai?
32:53Again, Gaurav, yeh joh kaethe hai, wo yehi ki ye allegations hai, proof koji nahi hai.
32:59Or yeh bharat ko bhi yehi kaethe hai,
33:01bharat ki tarah se bhi jitnye bhi attacks huo hai, terror attacks huo hai hai,
33:05jis pae apne hoon hai, dozeri bhi bhi hai.
33:06Yeh bharat ko blame karna, pakistan ke logoo me kuch toh dhimag ho ga arzu,
33:10souchtay hoongay na ki London me jab bump hattah hai,
33:137-7-2005 London bombing, 57 loog mara gai thai, 57 people were killed,
33:19pakistan ka connection nikla tha,
33:21voha toh India nahi involved tha,
33:23voh toh London police ne pakistan ka naam liya tha,
33:26America mein,
33:27jab 9-11 ke baad naam liya tha,
33:30Afghanistan mein operations ka,
33:31toh kaathah pakistanish shielding terrorists,
33:34voha toh Indians nahi hai?
33:36Deghen gaurav, pakistan ke agar aap public ki baat kar raha hai,
33:38toh public ko toh bhot kuch samaj me a raha hai,
33:40meri jiasi public hai na,

33:47leken of course unke hat mein power nahi hai,
33:49hum policies nahi bana saktet,
33:51hum hi declare naihi kar saktet,

33:54hum ispe baat toh kert saktet hai,
33:56leken usse aaghe toh humari koi power nahi hai,
33:59toh islilye leken public ko samaj me a raha hai,
34:01wu uspe baat bhi kar raha hai,
34:03aur shayad islilye chahi FATF ka dhar ho,
34:05ya kuchh,
34:06thudhi bhot karwai bhi ho raha hai,
34:08leken bhoat zahada kuchh,
34:09egdem se ho jayega,
34:10aisa muskail hai,
34:11wiesse toh abhi,
34:12DJI SPR sahab nne ka,
34:13kya amne 40,000 operations kiya hai,
34:16toh 40,000 operations kispe kia hai,
34:18kya kiya hai,
34:18toh loog ye sawal kar raha hai in se,
34:21aisa nahi ki kiyaan peh loogun ko samaj nne hi a raha hai,
34:23aur loogun ke mindset je ho change nne hi ho raha hai,
34:25ho raha hai,
34:25leken phooda time lagye ga.
34:28Sushan Sarheen,
34:29Jaisar Mohamad was banned in Pakistan in 2002,
34:33Azhar still can appear in Bahawalpur in 2025,
34:37now if that organization is a UN designated bland terrorist organization,
34:41he's a banned terrorist individual,
34:43yet he can come out and open,
34:45doesn't this expose Pakistan to the world?
34:50You know, the excuse that the Pakistanis make is that the UN
34:54really imposes just three restrictions on terrorists,
34:57one is on travel,
34:58the second is on arms,
34:59and the third is on money.
35:01And, you know,
35:02other than that,
35:03they don't need to do anything else,
35:05so they let these guys operate,
35:07and as Arzu very correctly says,
35:09that, you know,
35:10they put his name in this particular list,
35:13but you ask any Pakistani,
35:15do you think he's a terrorist?
35:16They'll say,
35:16no, he's a religious figure,
35:18he's a religious leader.
35:20Every terrorist,
35:21you know,
35:21that is what they've done in Pakistan,
35:23every terrorist is a religious leader.
35:25And when you say,
35:26Gaurav,
35:27and I'll just correct you on this,
35:28it's not as though the ordinary people in Pakistan
35:32are not aware of the shenanigans of the Pakistan army,
35:35because if you look at the most popular slogan in Pakistan,
35:40from Khyber to Khuddar,
35:43is,
35:45and that's now in POJK also,
35:48and in parts of Punjab also,
35:50people are,
35:50that is the slogan that everybody is now using.
35:52So clearly the people know the games that the Pakistan army plays,
35:56how steeped it is in this whole business of terrorism and jihadism,
36:02and how many problems they have created for the Pakistanis themselves.
36:06So that is the direction in which things are going.
36:09But, you know,
36:11I think the Europeans now are suddenly waking up to the fact that they have been made charlies for so
36:19many years,
36:20and now they are trying to hold Pakistanis feet to fire.
36:23I don't know the Europeans, you know,
36:26could last minute turn around and, you know,
36:28panic and say,
36:29okay, fine, we'll extend this GSB+.
36:32Otherwise,
36:33if they start acting against the Pakistanis,
36:37if the Americans, for example,
36:39who have been,
36:40again,
36:40led up the garden path for so many years,
36:43for decades, in fact,
36:45by this sweet talk that every time there's a big occasion,
36:48the Pakistanis will present them with either a particular person,
36:52or, you know,
36:53some kind of a document they will give to them,
36:55or make some apprehension or some arrest inside Pakistan,
36:59or carry out some operation inside Pakistan.
37:01And then the apologists of Pakistan and the United States keep clapping their hands and say,
37:07okay, fine,
37:08let's give them another chance.
37:09That is the game the Pakistanis have been playing for 30-40 years now.
37:13But I think somebody should wake up and smell the coffee and realize,
37:17you know,
37:17how they are being,
37:19how they are being backstabbed and how,
37:22you know,
37:23they are being led up the garden path.
37:25Fair enough.
37:26You know,
37:26we'll continue to track developments on the story very closely.
37:30Arzu,
37:30you wanted to come in?
37:30Okay,
37:31last 30 seconds.
37:31Arzu,
37:32go on.
37:32And then,
37:32what do you want to say?
37:34I just think so.
37:38I just think so.
38:11संभवता इसलिए operation sindoor ही एक भाशा है जो पाकिस्तान को समझ आती है but let's see if that's the
38:18way the world moves forward
38:20because there is no denying the fact only the brave are respected during operation sindoor Sandeep you've had military commanders
38:29who quoted the ramcharit manas to say
38:32and this has to be etched in our minds at all times when you deal with a state sponsor of
38:40radical Islamist Tara Arzu
38:42many thanks for joining me I now want to shift focus to the other big story we're tracking here on
38:48India first
38:49and that is the dramatic escalation in the conflict in West Asia the Houthis continue to target Saudi Arabia
38:56Saudi Arabia is hitting back Saudi Arabia has issued an emergency alert and this is very worrisome
39:03Saudi Arabia has issued an emergency alert in Mecca
39:07Mecca could be targeted by Houthi forces is the apprehension but it's not just Mecca
39:13Mecca, Jeddah, Taif, residents have been warned of a potential danger of an incoming aerial threat
39:22in Mecca people have been told to move to the nearest safe place as quickly as possible
39:29stay indoors stay away from windows stay away from balconies do not come on rooftops do not step out
39:36until an all clear is sounded this warning comes amidst a fresh wave of Houthi missile and drone strikes
39:44in Saudi Arabia but the bigger concern for Riyadh is the Houthis lightning advance along the Red Sea
39:51now that's the other axis where the war is escalating the Iran backed Houthi forces have captured the strategic port
39:58city
39:58of Moka of Dubaab Mayoon of the Perim Island and of course Zookar Island and most recently the greater and
40:08lesser
40:09Hanish Island and we've shown you all those maps now just watch if Houthi forces are in control of this
40:16entire territory
40:17of Moka of Moka of Dubaab of Perim Island of the greater Hanish Island the lesser Hanish Island and
40:25Zookar Island what does that indicate their absolute chokehold in this territory and this gives the Houthi forces effective control
40:35of that entire
40:36west Yemeni coastline and significantly strengthen their grip around that crucial Babal Mandab shipping
40:44choke point now that's an absolute nightmare for global shipping amidst this escalating threat Israeli reports say and these are
40:51reports coming in Israeli media that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman through the United States has reached out
40:59to Israel through the U.S. Central Command seeking intelligence assistance against the incoming Houthi threat this comes after the
41:06United States has reached out to Israel through the U.S. Central Command
41:06the United States refused Saudi Arabia's request for direct military intervention against the Houthi forces although Washington D.C. has
41:14said they will continue to offer intelligence assistance and targeting support the Saudi Arabia's partners in this so-called Mecca
41:23defense pact they've shied away they haven't stepped up they haven't come forward to help either Pakistan says there is
41:31no military response that's possible
41:33it's not even under discussion it's not even under discussion it's not even on the table Turkey they said they
41:38haven't committed to using their forces against the Houthis and this despite the fact key collective defense principle an armed
41:45attack on one member will be regarded as an armed attack on all members but now they're looking at the
41:53fine print and in Pakistan they say yes we made a pact but there's a asterisk that nobody saw and
41:59that asterisk is conditions apply
42:01joining me on this special broadcast now is Professor Asif Ramiz Daudi he's a very well respected expert on West
42:10Asia
42:10Professor Daudi welcome Sandeep Unnithan and Sushant Sareen stay with me
42:15Professor Daudi can you give us details of the current situation is is the situation around in and around Mecca
42:23any better or is that alert still in place
42:28Gaurav as far as far as your question is concerned I was just going through the media reports as well
42:34I see things are quite normal here and these guidelines are usually you know these are there on social media
42:42whenever there are threats every country tries to you know alert their citizens for protection for other measures that one
42:52should take but I tell you what is happening here it's it's quite
42:56alarming and Saudi Arabia being one of the most peace loving countries Saudi Arabia being one of the most law
43:05law abiding countries is it's always trying its best to have the to promote the dialogue discussion de-escalation progress
43:15peace and that's the
43:17are letting their missiles and their drones speak so is the situation likely to worsen
43:23Sushant you know given the current situation Saudis want peace Saudis want you know prosperity and progress but their oil
43:33one they're unable to take it out
43:35two they're unable to export it with this chokehold both of Bab al-Mandab and straight of Hormuz
43:42Yeah and I fear that this war is only going to escalate and the problems of the Saudis is only
43:49going to increase at least that is what it looks like because while the Houthis have managed to get a
43:55chokehold over the Bab al-Mandab the only one country they have singled out whose supplies and whose shipping they
44:03will interdite and stop is Saudi Arabia which is not just a problem for Saudi Arabia it's a problem for
44:10the rest of the world.
44:10because the Saudi oil cannot flow through that area then it's a big problem for the rest of the world.
44:17That is one part of the problem. The second problem for the Saudis is going to be that you know
44:21there was this Mecca accord which was signed with great fanfare. Now the Turks very coolly have turned around and
44:28said but we have not yet ratified it so there's nothing we can do about it. Okay fine let us
44:33for a moment give in to their disingenuity.
44:35But what about the Pakistanis? But what about the Pakistanis? They signed a strategic mutual defence agreement last year. What
44:42happened to that agreement?
44:43where they were saying that you know one for all for one. They signed it last year. How long are
44:50they going to take? 20-30 years before they ratify something?
44:53So where are the Pakistanis? And which is the country which seems to have come to some extent to some
44:59assistance whether it's only intelligence sharing.
45:02It's partly the United States and partly Israel which is crazy because at one level the Pakistanis and the Turks
45:10were saying that this particular alliance and all they were looking for is Saudi money.
45:14They were never going to come to Saudi assistance. So they were looking for Saudi money to build up their
45:20own sinews to attack Israel. That is what the Pakistani narrative was.
45:24That's a very good point to make. Let me bring in Sandeep and let me bring in Professor Daudi on
45:28two very crucial points. Sandeep one let's talk about the choke points with the Yemeni forces or the Yemeni Houthi
45:36rebels increasing that choke hold not just along Babal Mandab but even those strategic islands the situation is going to
45:44be very very difficult for Saudi Arabia.
45:46Now the drone strike on the pumping of that east-west pipeline they can't pump, they can't transport and then
45:53they can't ferry. Same goes with the state of Hormuz.
45:56Absolutely, Gaurav. You know I think this is one of the gravest crises Saudi Arabia has faced possibly since the
46:02invasion of Kuwait in 1990 and that is something that Saudi Arabia was made aware of its vulnerability that you
46:10know they said at that time Saddam Hussein could just roll into Saudi Arabia and nothing could have stopped him.
46:15But now you're looking at you know in 2026 where Saudi Arabia's oil is completely choked. You have the state
46:22of Hormuz to bypass that. They had that big 1200-kilometer oil pipeline from Quresh to Yangbu.
46:29That is completely stopped for the first time. That transports over 3 million barrels of oil a day. That has
46:35been stopped for the first time in its operations.
46:37Saudi oil cannot transit through the Bab al-Mandab because the Houthis have captured all of the land, 5,000
46:45square kilometers.
46:46To give you an idea, it's almost double the size of a state like Goa. That they captured in a
46:51matter of hours. They rolled back all the government forces from there.
46:54They've captured the coastline, actually, the coastline of Yemen. The Houthis in the past, Gaurav, three years back, they had
47:01to strike from the mountains.
47:03They had to launch their missiles and drones from the mountains. Today they can do that from the coast.
47:07So, they have a complete chokehold on the second choke point of the Arabian Peninsula. And the third one, of
47:13course, is the Suez Canal, which is open.
47:16But that's not good enough to export oil. They'll have to reroute that. And the Iranians have also shown the
47:22ability to target merchant shipping at the mouth of the Strait of Panama.
47:26Let me bring in Professor Daudi into this conversation once again. Sir, what is the reading in Saudi Arabia of
47:34the Mecca Pact, you know, not bringing in the kind of support that may have been expected from countries like
47:40Pakistan?
47:42Look, Gaurav, before I tell you this, let me just mention one thing.
47:46What the Houthi militia, the terrorist Houthi militia, backed by Iranians, what they are doing is a heinous crime, attacking
47:55the civilians and trying to damage the, you know, areas or especially targeting the vision, Vision 2030, which is for
48:03the vibrant society and, you know, vibrant economy, etc., progress, peace, etc.
48:08Now, coming back to your question, what is happening here is mainly, you know, about these deals, defense deals you
48:16are talking about.
48:17Things will unfold gradually and every country has its rights to defend itself, to protect itself and to have alliance
48:26and to, you know, have coalitions with any kind of sovereign countries or supporters or friendly nations.
48:34They stand with them. This is what is happening here. And with this fact, I have seen some tweets as
48:41well, you know, from Pakistanian prime minister and others, etc.
48:45It's not something which is, we can just not, we cannot rule it out that this is not going to
48:51happen.
48:52Let's wait and watch. And according to the media reports also, where it mentions about the United Nations rules, regulations
49:00and how Saudis can also, you know, retaliate.
49:04For these all heinous crimes that they are, the terrorists who these are doing, backed by Iranians, as I said.
49:11So, let's wait and watch. And as I said, since we have a vision…
49:15But each day loss means massive losses for Saudi Arabia.
49:19There are reports that seem to indicate that this meeting that took place between the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin
49:24Salman and U.S. CENTCOM Chief General Kerala,
49:27there was some conversation around seeking Israeli intelligence assistance, maybe even Israeli strike capabilities to target the bases of the
49:38Houthi forces that were targeting Saudi Arabia.
49:42Is there any information on that?
49:43What happens, you know, in media, we have different kinds of narratives. Western media has its own narratives. Other media
49:51houses, they have their own narratives.
49:54So, we have to just avoid having any kind of propaganda or unconfirmed news.
50:00What is happening there, we, you, I, or we were not there and we do not have any authentic source
50:06where we can really, quote, accept one particular country or tweets.
50:10You know, this, I don't endorse this, what is actually happening and what might have happened.
50:15So, here we have to again wait. And I don't think, you know, these things are actually circulating or surfacing
50:23on different areas.
50:24But we need to authenticate, we need to avoid…
50:27Point taken entirely. Sandeep, would this indicate that there is pressure or ultimately there would be pressure on Saudi Arabia
50:34to be a part of the Abraham Accord,
50:37considering UAE did receive assistance in terms of air defense systems and intelligence inputs when Iran targeted the UAE.
50:47Is the United States indirectly trying to mount pressure on Saudi Arabia to follow the same track?
50:54Absolutely, Gaurav. And, you know, this is something that President Trump has told Saudi Arabia.
50:59He said that you can get a nuclear deal with us only if you recognize Israel as part of the
51:04Abraham Accords.
51:05And that would be a very big thing indeed. Saudi Arabia was close to that before the 7th of October
51:112023 attack on Israeli civilians,
51:14where this new phase of war in West Asia began.
51:17So, Saudi Arabia is now in a dilemma, really.
51:21Its partners in the Mecca defense agreement have deserted it.
51:26Pakistan has got JF-17, there's got a brigade of soldiers on Saudi soil.
51:31They haven't done anything with it.
51:33Turkey has a base in Somalia, which is just across the Red Sea.
51:38It is really close to the Bab el-Mandab.
51:41They have not done anything.
51:42They have pretended not to hear these calls for assistance.
51:45And Israel is possibly the only country, Gaurav, which has experience of fighting the Houthis.
51:50They have actually launched huge attacks on the Houthis.
51:53Massive strikes, both air strikes and missile strikes against them.
51:56So, the last 30 seconds I have on this part of the show.
51:59Sushant Sareen, are we to believe that this Mecca agreement is actually a stillborn agreement?
52:04It was only to extract, you know, money from Saudi Arabia.
52:10And Pakistan may have succeeded in doing that.
52:12Saudi Arabia is not better defended.
52:13Or can Pakistan get away by saying that this is a defensive pact, they have troops and fighters on ground,
52:19but only in case there's an incoming attack on Mecca?
52:24Yeah, but that's not going to wash down the Saudi throat, is it?
52:27And I don't think the Saudis are anybody's fools.
52:30They might be very polite and everything else, but they're sharp guys.
52:33So, they're not going to be taken in by it.
52:35Secondly, please, I think we have to keep some latitude, give some latitude to certain political sensitivities which are there
52:43in Saudi Arabia, vis-a-vis Israel, vis-a-vis a whole range of other issues.
52:47So, I think, you know, they will try and walk the tightrope on that issue.
52:51And finally, on the U.S. not intervening on the side of the Saudis, I can understand why that happened.
52:58Do you remember that the U.S. naval ships were also being targeted by the Houthis?
53:04And in fact, they brought down a couple of planes and almost targeted a couple of ships.
53:09So, there's a ceasefire which is currently underway between the U.S. and the Houthis.
53:14If the U.S. opens another front, it creates a huge problem for them at a time they're already engaged
53:19with Iran.
53:20They don't want to open up yet another front with the Houthis right now.
53:24I've run out of time on this part of the show, but, you know, the situation does remain extremely precarious
53:30and we'll be tracking that story very closely.
53:32Professor Daudi, as always, many thanks for joining me.
53:35Sushant Sarin, Sandeep, many thanks.
53:37We'll track the story closely.
