00:01Hi everyone, my name's Lexi. I'm the owner of Trove Artistry in Bali and come take a peek in my
00:07paradise.
00:22So this is the first property that I built in Bali and my goal for the feeling of it, I
00:27really want it to feel really grand.
00:29And really expansive. So when I walked in, I knew that I wanted a really standout foyer.
00:35So I just love the high ceilings and the beautiful pendant light, which was one of my favourites.
00:40And then of course, the beautiful staircase, which is sort of on show when you walk in, I would say
00:45the art piece of the foyer.
00:46This is actually the middle level of the property. So when you walk in, this is the middle.
00:51And then you can go downstairs to the living and dining. And then the master suite is upstairs on the
00:57third level.
00:57Another favourite feature of the foyer is actually these windows.
01:02They are five metre pieces of glass and completely custom.
01:06We had to order them from another island in Indonesia.
01:09And then it took eight men to hand install them on the day, which was definitely interesting to watch.
01:15And now let me show you my son's bedroom.
01:23I wanted his bedroom to feel really soft and homey.
01:27So I sort of went with a fabric bed head just in fabric all around the sides.
01:31So, you know, it feels nice and soft and luxurious.
01:34I really wanted the whole house to feel like you were in Australia.
01:38So we did sort of the parketry floors, nice white walls and high ceilings.
01:44I wanted all the rooms to have a nice big walk in wardrobe going into a bathroom.
01:49So this is my son's walk in. We have all of his clothes and everything in here.
01:57So this is the guest bedroom. I wanted to make it really nice and large.
02:02So sort of when any of our guests are staying here, they can feel like they have their own little
02:06privacy and space.
02:08So we made this room a little bit extra bigger.
02:10And then we did a large king bed again with a fabric bed head just to make it feel nice
02:17and soft and cozy and really homey.
02:19And then both guest bedrooms actually open out onto their own balcony with the nice big sliding doors.
02:28I went with really heavy ones because I wanted to feel that really luxurious feeling when you push them and
02:35they have that weight in them.
02:36And then this is the balcony, beautiful, nice natural sunlight into the bedroom as well.
02:42So this bedroom also has a nice large walkthrough wardrobe, nice hanging space, a little mirror in the corner over
02:51there as well.
02:51And then it walks through to the bathroom.
02:54So in this bathroom, I went with the same tile.
02:58It's actually a slightly darker marble.
03:01And because of that, there's a little bit more contrast in it.
03:04So I changed the tapware in this bathroom to be a matte white, just to sort of throw off the
03:08marble and highlight it a bit more.
03:13Now, let me show you the downstairs living and dining.
03:22So this is the lower level of the house.
03:24This is where we have our living, dining and kitchen.
03:27The land that the house is built on is actually only for ARA, but because we wanted it to feel
03:32really large and expansive and we did it over three levels, we're able to get really large open living spaces.
03:40And that's why I love when you walk down here, it does feel very grand and you have all open
03:45and a large area there, which my son actually uses to play in all day.
03:50And he just loves it.
03:52The color scheme throughout the house is very neutral.
03:56I wanted everything to be very calm and almost timeless.
03:59And then I loved adding pops of color through the house through removable interiors.
04:05So things like the cushions, the artwork, really nice coffee table, bright books, and then, of course, some nice bright
04:11flowers.
04:18It's always been a dream of mine to share family dinners in my own home.
04:22So it was really important when designing the dining room area that I had a really large dining table.
04:29And I loved the contrast of the white concrete render table against the soft velvet chairs.
04:36And these velvet chairs have actually turned out to be amazing because they don't stain and they wipe off really
04:42easily.
04:43We've spilt many pastas and wine on them already.
04:46And moving on to my favorite space, which is the heart of the home, the kitchen.
04:52I designed this knowing I wanted a really large, big island bench, but I also still wanted it to look
04:58really clean with no appliances sort of out in this area.
05:02I got these marble flutes custom cut.
05:06It's actually 140 pieces, which have been hand laid one by one over the bench.
05:12And I really just think it makes the space what it is.
05:15And moving through from this kitchen, we actually did a butler's pantry in here and I wanted it to be
05:22like a second kitchen.
05:23So there is a second sink over in the corner.
05:26And then we have all your appliances here as well.
05:36Our living and dining opens up to our outdoor terrace.
05:40We wanted to make it so we have a really indoor, outdoor feel with the property.
05:44So we did sliding glass doors along the whole back, which are able to open up and really let the
05:49light in.
05:50You've got your indoor entertaining area, but then this is perfect as well for a really beautiful outdoor entertaining area.
05:57My favourite part about the whole outdoor is really the pool.
06:01We actually did custom laid mosaics and I got to hand pick the colours of the mosaic tile, which was
06:08a really fun little activity for me.
06:15And bringing it into our downstairs powder room, I really wanted it to be a travertine feature.
06:21This really stunning travertine bench, which is floating with no cupboards.
06:25And then my favourite flutes again, these are actually also hand cut flutes, which they were able to lay on
06:34the wall.
06:34And they're a beautiful raw travertine, which I haven't put resin in or haven't put finish in.
06:39I really liked the idea of having them with the sort of natural holes and texture on the walls.
06:44I just thought it made a really, really beautiful feature.
06:51Now, let me take you upstairs to the third level, which is our master suite and my little oasis.
07:04Now, this is the master bedroom and the master level.
07:10So the master suite actually takes up the entire third level.
07:13I wanted it to be sort of like a little retreat and haven.
07:17Sort of for us as parents, we can come up here and just have a little bit of quiet time.
07:23And yeah, I feel like it really gives a calm, relaxed vibe and a large reason I wanted to go
07:29with the neutral tones.
07:31And then I just added a little pop of pattern, which is actually my own design.
07:35These are my Romy cushions, which you have seen all around the house in every room.
07:40But I really wanted to sort of still add a bit of sort of funk, but in a very sort
07:46of muted way.
07:48And taking you into the master bathroom, we had a lot of space to play with up here.
07:53So I wanted to make it feel very luxurious doing double taps, double showers, a beautiful large standing bath.
08:02And then we sort of tucked the toilet away in the corner over there so it's not seen.
08:07Again, I love the feature of stone in the house.
08:10So I've gone with the marble floors.
08:12And then we actually ordered this beautiful piece of onyx from Jakarta and we had it cut and made into
08:19a basin,
08:19which I think just adds the perfect amount of color to the muted bathroom.
08:28I'll take you into the master wardrobe.
08:30Again, we had a lot of space to play with.
08:34So this one was really fun to design.
08:36I wanted it to feel almost like a boutique store.
08:39So we did a wrap around shelving unit, which I think displays things really beautifully.
08:45And on my favorite side of the walk-in robe, we have a built-in cushion.
08:50And then I get to display all my bags under a beautiful glass cabinet, which I like to look at.
09:00So again, on the master level, we did the big sliding doors, which open up to this private balcony.
09:05And then I loved having a little sort of seating area in the mornings where I can have my morning
09:10coffee
09:11and watch the sunrise, which we get a beautiful view of over the balcony here.
