In 1986, McDonald's built a massive floating restaurant for Vancouver's Expo 86. Known as the McBarge, the two-story Friendship 500 was designed as a futuristic waterfront attraction, complete with panoramic windows, an upscale interior, and a concealed kitchen.
This episode follows the McBarge from its huge Expo 86 success to decades of abandonment, failed restoration plans, and its final capsizing and partial sinking in the Fraser River in 2025.
