00:32and verify the registered owners of the vehicles involved.
00:36Mohamed Alwi said police had identified all parties and recorded statements from the motorcyclists and car driver
00:44except for a 19-year-old motorcyclist who remains in the intensive care unit at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
00:51The accident occurred at about 3.35am, killing three male motorcyclists aged between 19 and 20 at the scene
01:00and injuring nine others aged between 19 and 25.
01:05Meanwhile, the next of kin of two victims are eligible for benefits under Perkeso's
01:10Lindung 24-jam scheme for non-occupational accidents.
01:15Perkeso said in a statement on Monday that the victims were Mohamed Izdihar, Rafiq Sarajil Korin
01:21and Mohamed Faiz Daniel Jumri, both 19.
01:25Mohamed Izdihar began contributing to Perkeso after starting work in January,
01:30while Mohamed Faiz had been contributing since August last year.
01:34Perkeso said the scheme protects contributors and their dependents against non-occupational accidents,
01:42including those occurring outside working hours.
01:45The next of kin of Mohamed Izdihar are eligible for dependents' benefits of 945 ringgit a month,
01:52while Mohamed Faiz's next of kin will receive 891 ringgit, distributed according to their respective shares.
01:59Their parents will receive the benefits for life,
02:03while eligible siblings will receive them until they turn 21 or complete their degree.
02:09The families are also eligible for a one-off funeral management benefit of 3,000 ringgit each.
02:16Perkeso said the dependents' benefits payable to the two families over 15 years
02:22are estimated at more than 275,000 ringgit.
