00:00What did you make of the Commander-Cowboy game?
00:02Obviously, Jaden Daniels news in that ballgame, too,
00:05and I'm starting to think the guys made a papier-mâché,
00:08but the Cowboys survived this thing here because that game was close,
00:11and they were driving right before he ended up getting injured there.
00:16So what was your takeaway on this one?
00:18Yeah, my takeaway from the Cowboys' perspective is, hey,
00:21that offense looked so much better against the Commanders
00:24than did the Giants, and I know the Commanders have a weaker defense,
00:27but nonetheless, you could see Dak Prescott was in rhythm.
00:31He was connecting with C.D. Lamb.
00:32He was connecting with Jake Ferguson.
00:34This wasn't happening in that first week of action,
00:36so I think this was a big-time positive step for that Cowboys offense,
00:40and even Brandon Aubrey had, like, an unusually bad week one game
00:44where he had a couple kicks tailed to his right.
00:47He looked much better.
00:48So you're feeling good about their scoring output.
00:50Their defense was performing better as well.
00:53I know that the massive caveat is Jaden Daniels getting hurt
00:56just changes everything for that Washington team.
00:58I mean, you're talking about a guy who is super explosive, dual-threat guy,
01:03and Mariota, again, very good backup quarterback, also dual-threat,
01:06but he's not the same type of playmaker,
01:08especially not at this stage in his career.
01:10So the ceiling for the Commanders is so much lower
01:13as Daniels remains out of action,
01:15and it's the second time he's had that freak dislocated elbow injury,
01:19and it's just so unfortunate because he just got stepped on.
01:22He fell weird.
01:23He was trying to stay up, and it just bent wrong.
01:25So I feel for him.
01:26I think the Commanders are going to have a very tough time operating
01:29and trying to win games without him
01:31because their defense isn't really built to contain anyone presently.
01:34They're better than they were last year, but they still have a lot of holes,
01:37and offensively, Mariota can do some of what Daniels does,
01:41but he's not going to be a guy who wins these 30-point shootouts all that often,
01:45at least I don't think so with the supporting cast he has on the offensive line there.
01:50Look at the next four games that they have coming up, too.
01:53You look at those next four ballgames they have coming up,
01:56and you've got a backup quarterback,
01:57and you're going to be rolling against those teams.
