00:00I have a funny story about Cat and hip-hop.
00:03Back in, whenever he was coming out of high school, going into college,
00:07they did the Jordan Brand Classic, and heads at Jordan Brand invited me and my man Tore.
00:13They took over this hotel in Brooklyn, and they had all of the kids staying there.
00:17And Cat was there, and everyone in that draft class, right?
00:19So that was D-Lo and Jaleel Okafor, and everyone in that draft class was there.
00:24We built a studio, and it's all glass.
00:27So anyone sitting around it can watch y'all through the studio.
00:31It's in the middle of the conference room.
00:32We want you to come down, bring some beats, and you on tour,
00:35and we want y'all to make a song on the spot.
00:37We went down there, and I remember I threw some beats on,
00:41and then I wrote a verse on the spot, 10 minutes, and I knocked it out in one take.
00:46And mind you, all the kids in the Jordan Brand crew are sitting around this glass, too.
00:51So they're just watching, right?
00:52And they're 17, 18, and, you know, they're hype and excited.
00:56And they was flipping out when I came out the booth, showing love.
00:59And I remember Cat stopped me.
01:00When everything calmed down, he came up to me, and he was like,
01:03yo, man, yo, I'm Cat.
01:05I'm calling Anthony Towns.
01:06Oh, that's what's up, whatever, whatever.
01:07He was like, yo, how do you do that?
01:09He was like, how did you do that, man?
01:11Like, you just wrote it so quick and just spit it in one take,
01:14and it was perfect.
01:14He was really into it, and he was really floored and enamored by it.
01:18So that was dope, man.
01:19And he was super humble off the rip.
01:21He was seven feet.
01:22You knew he was going to be number one pick when he was done playing his one year
01:26and everything like that, and just showed so much love and grace.
01:29And anytime I see him, anytime I rock his jersey, I remember that.
