00:00When this baby leper was born, she was severely sick, so that's when this dedicated vet couple
00:04stepped in to give her a fighting chance. When Lele was born at a local zoo, her mother had
00:09unfortunately abandoned her because she wasn't eating and she was getting weaker by the day.
00:13The zoo reached out to Valentina and Leonette for their help. The couple are both veterinarians,
00:18and they decided to stay behind in Ukraine during the war to build an animal hospital and sanctuary.
00:23The second they saw this fragile cub, they promised to do whatever it took to keep her alive.
00:27Saving her meant that she had to go through two complicated surgeries with no guarantee that
00:32she would pull through. After many long hours of recovery, Lele was finally showing signs that
00:37she was starting to feel better. And a few days later, her appetite came roaring back,
00:44which meant Valentina and Leonette suddenly had a very hungry, very demanding baby leopard they had
00:49a bottle feed. With every bottle, Lele got a little stronger, which meant that she got a little
00:58bit more curious and a little bit more playful as well. After months of sleepless nights raising her,
01:06Lele was a beautiful, thriving leopard. Unfortunately, Lele could not be released back into the wild. But at
01:13Valentina and Leonette Sanctuary, Lele gets to spend the rest of her life running wild,
01:18climbing trees, and receiving all the care and freedom that she deserves.
01:23After everything she had gone through as her cub, Lele finally has a long, happy lifetime ahead of her.
