00:01This is one story that India today is not going to let go of and that is coming in from
00:05Tamil Nadu.
00:06He may be influential, all-powerful, known to the top of the political powerful corridors
00:11and yet the accusation he's facing is so serious of sexually exploiting little girls,
00:17especially from poor, underprivileged backgrounds.
00:19Many call him the Jem Granite Baron.
00:23Ganesan, who worked at Veeramani's company Jem Granites for 23 years
00:27and currently works at another organization, was arrested for having an obscene video.

00:34An obscene video of Veeramani sexually abusing a little girl.
00:40He had this video on his mobile phone and did not report to the police.
00:45Ganesan was produced in the court and lost in the Pural Central Prison as per the court order.
00:49An ongoing investigation is underway into who sent Ganesan such pornography videos of the girl
00:55and why would he not inform the police in which allegedly it appears that Veeramani is very clear
01:02and the exploitation visual is also clear.
01:06Chennai police, however, has confirmed that there is an update in this POCSO case.

01:17Anaka, who is this Ganesan?
01:19How does it become significant to the investigation here?
01:24Well, in Pooja, even the fact that somebody is privy to a POCSO case and has failed to report to
01:31police
01:31also tantamounts to an offence.
01:34And therefore, Ganesan, who was privy to the fact that Veeramani has been sexually exploiting girls
01:40for a very long time, he even has evidence, digital evidence on his mobile phone,
01:45in a video to be particular, a video that contains Veeramani sexually exploiting a little girl, a little child, a
01:52minor.
01:53He was in possession of this video and yet, he failed to report it to the police.
01:58And therefore, it's on this ground that the Chennai police have taken Ganesan,
02:03who has worked in Veeramani's gem granite company for over 23 years.
02:07He has, after that, changed jobs and has worked at Balaji Global Enterprises now.
02:14That's where he's working.
02:14But the fact that he was privy to this offence and is not reported to the police
02:18is the reason why they've taken him into custody.
02:20He was produced in court today and he has been lodged in Pural Central Prison as per the court orders.
02:27Further investigation is also underway to find out who exactly sent Veeramani,
02:32who exactly sent Ganesan this particular video,
02:35who else was privy to this offence that has, you know, that has been happening for the last many, many
02:40years.
02:41Even the money trial is also yet to be established because close to 70 crore rupees is what we're talking
02:46about,
02:47such that that has exchanged hands to hush up this whole crime.
02:51So, therefore, the police are investigating the chase further to find out how many more officials were behind this crime
02:58not really coming to light all these years.
