Transcript
00:00Is that what you want to do?
00:01No.
00:02Uh-uh.
00:02All right, then we're going to go back to dealing with this case my way, not your way.
00:06Yes.
00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo.
00:08And today, in celebration of Judge Judy's 30th anniversary,
00:12we're counting down our picks for the most iconic, jaw-dropping,
00:16and unforgettable moments from the judge's legendary courtroom.
00:19You have a child with your girlfriend.
00:22She's very pregnant again with another child.
00:24Is that right?
00:25Yes.
00:28Number 30, The Laughing Teen.
00:31Courtroom decorum is already a stretch for most people who end up on Judge Judy.
00:35But for 17-year-old Kayla, it was apparently a foreign concept entirely.
00:40Maddie brought the case, claiming Kayla had tormented and assaulted her in the park.
00:45When they came out, did they say anything to you?
00:47No, they were just walking, and they were coming at me, though.
00:51And then I started to walk away with my friends.
00:53I called my mom off one of my friend's phones.
00:55Another boy had come up to me.
00:57He was trying to get me to come back over there.
00:59Kayla denies everything, and then can't stop giggling while Maddie tells her story.
01:04Judge Judy's sharp retort slices through the laughter instantly.
01:08And when they came out of the woods, did you see?
01:10It's not funny.
01:13Not funny!
01:16Got me.
01:17Mm-hmm.
01:18But the chaos doesn't stop there.
01:20Kayla's mom and Maddie's auntie keep interrupting, earning themselves repeated shushes from the bench.
01:26How far is the Dairy Queen from your sister's house where you were trying on dresses?
01:32An hour.
01:34Her sister's house is insane.
01:36Wait, shh.
01:38When Maddie's auntie finally gets her moment to speak, Kayla is back to smirking, until Judy orders her to wipe
01:45it off her face.
01:46I remember thinking, is she ever going to stop hitting me?
01:48Just a second.
01:49Wipe the smile off your face.
01:51Lesson learned, hopefully.
01:56Few things make Judge Judy's blood boil faster than someone endangering a child, and then lying about it.
02:04And the baby was okay when she dropped the baby off.
02:06Yes, ma'am.
02:07Then I'm reading your answer, and you say that the nine-year-old was holding the baby.
02:12Correct.
02:12A mother sued the woman she paid to watch her infant after an older child in that home grabbed the
02:18baby by the legs and caused an injury.
02:21When Judy asks the defendant to explain herself, the woman essentially dismantles her own case, contradicting her written statement almost
02:29immediately.
02:30And he was twisting him back and forth throughout the living room.
02:33Okay, so what did you do?
02:35I asked him to please stop.
02:37You asked him according to you.
02:39I told him to pick up the baby and play nicely.
02:42Correct.
02:42You're an idiot.
02:43At first, Judy laughs.
02:45That signature disbelieving chuckle reserved for truly spectacular nonsense.
02:50But as the contradictions pile up, the laughter gave way to barely-contained fury.
02:55If I were running the social service department in Idaho, tomorrow, your license should be yanked.
03:03Tomorrow.
03:04They did an investigation and they came back.
03:06Tomorrow!
03:07Then the person who did an investigation had an IQ in the double digits.
03:12Judge Judy's verdict is exactly what you'd expect.
03:15She rules in favor of the plaintiff, and the defendant has no one to blame but herself.
03:20We're done.
03:21I'm so upset.
03:23Anyway, judging for the plaintiff in the amount of $5,000, that will cover $4,000 of your medical bills
03:28plus some.
03:29Number 28.
03:30Judge Judy phones a witness.
03:32Was your car insured?
03:34Yes.
03:34Was your car insured?
03:36No, ma'am.
03:36That's why we're here.
03:38Yes, ma'am, but the accident was my fault, so.
03:39Well, if you had insurance, the insurance company would have dealt with that.
03:43Judge Judy usually has enough information in front of her to decide a case without leaving the bench.
03:48In this case, two drivers give completely different accounts of an intersection collision.
03:53The plaintiff says she had the green light, while the defendant insists he had a green arrow.
03:58I was coming down North Druid Hills.
04:00The light was green, so as I was coming upon the intersection, I seen him turning and I said,
04:06he's not going to make it, and I just braced for impact, and that's when we collided.
04:10The plaintiff says there was an independent witness and provides their information.
04:14Judy decides to verify the story herself, goes into her office, and calls the witness.
04:20The witness confirms the plaintiff's account.
04:22And you were in the turn lane.
04:27You have made my day so much easier, Ms. Denham, and I thank you very much for being so articulate
04:33and clear.
04:34With that crucial piece of evidence settled, Judy dismisses the defendant's version of events and rules for the plaintiff.
04:41A judge personally fact-checking in real time?
04:44That's the kind of judicial efficiency the rest of the legal system could learn from.
04:48You got impatient and went around her and cut her off to make the left turn.
04:54That's why she stopped, and that's why she gave the police her name.
04:59Because you went around her car, cut her off.
05:01Don't let the gavel drop on the fun.
05:04Scan the QR code on your screen, and join the Ms. Mojo 24-7 live stream for entertainment around the
05:09clock.
05:10This is a television courtroom, so we actually have fun doing sometimes ridiculous cases,
05:16which I'm sure is the reason you came here.
05:19Number 27.
05:21A messy girls' night out.
05:22Did you have a key to the apartment?
05:24Yes, ma'am.
05:25This is a talkie, so you can answer.
05:27Yes, ma'am.
05:27He had the keys to the car and to the house, yes.
05:30Okay, so you had the key.
05:32Yes, Your Honor.
05:33And was it your intention to stay over at Ms. Warich's house?
05:37That was the original agreement.
05:38Nancy says a chaotic drunken night out with former friends, Shiva and Roya, ended with her apartment trashed.
05:45Shiva insists she was sober and had nothing to do with the trash, while Roya says she remembers virtually nothing.
05:51Went to go hand her a cup of water, happened to choose the wrong glass.
05:54I don't know if it was already pre-shattered, but I grabbed it and put water in it from underneath
05:59the cup, handed it to her,
06:01and when she grabbed the cup, it shattered in her hand.
06:03While trying to piece together the timeline, Judy asks what happened earlier that day.
06:08Nancy reveals she'd worked out with only one of the defendants and the witness,
06:12giving Judy the perfect opportunity to throw a little shade at Roya.
06:15Who worked out? Raise your hand if you worked out.
06:18The two sober ones should work out more and drink less.
06:23She was at work.
06:24Shiva's account grows increasingly unbelievable, claiming the police sent Roya home but kept her behind,
06:31with witness Derek present. Judy calls the story out immediately.
06:35She's in such bad shape and if you wanted to leave, you mean the police told you you had to
06:39stay and clean up the mess?
06:40No, no, they didn't tell me to stay and clean up the mess.
06:43So you could have gone home with your sister?
06:45One look at Derek's knowing smirk suggests her instincts were dead on.
06:50Number 26, So You Had a Bad Haircut.
06:53A lawyer, an actual practicing lawyer, walked into Judge Judy's courtroom demanding thousands of dollars because his haircut was too
07:00short.
07:01Whatever hair you have left, you want it to have cut.
07:04And she cut your hair too short, so you're suing her for $5,000.
07:09Now, that's a ridiculous lawsuit.
07:12It's a ridiculous waste of judicial time.
07:15The irony practically wrote itself, and Judy seized every bit of it.
07:19She repeatedly calls the lawsuit stupid, roasting both the flimsy claim and the sheer audacity of a legal professional wasting
07:27everyone's time over his hair.
07:29Your lawsuit's stupid, and I actually am surprised.
07:32I didn't know what you did for a living, so I'm actually surprised that you acknowledged that you were a
07:38lawyer.
07:38I would have thought that a lawyer had more respect for courts than to bring this kind of lawsuit.
07:44He even produces a photo of the offending haircut, which does him absolutely no favors.
07:49Judy, unimpressed by the exhibit and everything else about the case, awards him exactly $10, the precise amount he paid
07:57for the haircut, and dismisses everything else outright.
08:00I don't think you're cute.
08:02I'm not trying to be cute.
08:03Great.
08:03You're trying to be cute.
08:05Good.
08:05You are cute.
08:07Mr. Campos, Mr. Campos, you are absolutely correct.
08:11That's why I have the job, and you get $10, and that's the judgment of the court.
08:15Goodbye.
08:16Perhaps the most expensive lesson in self-awareness he never learned.
08:20Number 25.
08:21Flex and get a job.
08:23Patrick and Rachel had been given ample notice to vacate the room they'd rented from Romualda, four months' worth of
08:30notice, in fact, and chose to ignore it entirely.
08:33You did not pay December's rent.
08:35No.
08:35She told us that she didn't want any money from us at all.
08:37Just a second.
08:38Okay.
08:38No, she wanted you out on October 15th.
08:41We have a text message saying that she wants us out, that she doesn't want a penny for us for
08:45utilities or rent.
08:46Just a second.
08:47Patrick argues he tried paying rent after receiving the eviction notice, only for Romualda to refuse it.
08:54Judy isn't buying the victim narrative and makes clear the landlord had followed the law to the letter.
08:59You both sound ridiculous.
09:03Ridiculous.
09:04Thank God.
09:04This is a free America.
09:06If you're not getting along with a family friend, go someplace else.
09:11You look like two able-bodied people.
09:13Then Judy notices Patrick's demeanor and asks him to flex his hand.
09:18He happily does it, seemingly pleased with the sudden attention and thinking he's about to receive a compliment.
09:24Instead, Judy plainly tells him to go get a job.
09:27We had water coming through our walls.
09:29My girlfriend had bronchitis for months.
09:30We had a stink that was full of water that she would not fit.
09:32Go like this.
09:33Go like this.
09:34Go like this.
09:35Go like this.
09:36Yeah.
09:37Get a job and move.
09:38I do have a job.
09:39I do have a job.
09:40I work very hard for my job.
09:41The smile evaporates on the spot.
09:44She ultimately rules in Romwalda's favor.
09:47You go and you file for a protective order to keep her off of her property.
09:51And then when she's on her property, you call the police and you have her arrested.
09:56Well, it looks like this case is over.
09:56Judgment for the plaintiff in the amount of $5,000.
09:59We're done.
09:59Number 24.
10:01Watch Your Mouth.
10:02Raven Miyamoto sues her roommate, Dasha Williams, over a loan, moving expenses, and a damaged phone.
10:08Williams disputes the loan and says Miyamoto actually broke her own phone, so she countersues.
10:15When did the two of you move in together, Ms. Williams?
10:17We moved in together February 3rd.
10:19Of this year?
10:20Yes.
10:20Did you move in at the same time?
10:22No, ma'am.
10:22You moved in later?
10:24Yes, ma'am.
10:24How many other young women were living there?
10:26There were about four of us.
10:28After hearing Williams' side, Judy turns to Raven for her response.
10:33Within seconds, Raven drops a curse word.
10:36Judy pauses and asks her to repeat herself.
10:39Instead of correcting herself, Raven uses the same curse word.
10:43And there's already tension in the house due to Dasha's attitude towards me or because
10:48you were jealous.
10:48Whatever it was, you weren't getting along.
10:50And?
10:51Bull.
10:51Okay.
10:52And, um.
10:53Just a sec.
10:54What?
10:54What did you say?
10:55I said bull.
10:56Bye.
10:57Case is dismissed.
10:58We're done.
10:59That is apparently enough.
11:00Judy has no patience for a litigant who cannot follow the most basic courtroom instruction,
11:04and she dismisses the case.
11:06You're done.
11:07If you don't know where you are, that's your problem.
11:10Goodbye.
11:11Your honor, I'm a counterfeit.
11:12Sometimes the biggest obstacle to justice is the person seeking it.
11:16Number 23.
11:18Judge Judy gets super seriously.
11:20Shaughnessy Fahey has a lot to say.
11:23But unfortunately for him, Judge Judy is also in the room, and she does not like to be interrupted.
11:28She came in with me the minute I came.
11:31The minute I showed up there, she was there.
11:34You have to get your story straight, sir.
11:36You signed a complaint.
11:37And the complaint which I have in front of me says,
11:40I was down on my luck, and he was doing me a huge favor.
11:43After falling on hard times, he moved in with a friend, then brought in his girlfriend and
11:48eventually her mother.
11:50Throughout the hearing, Fahey keeps interrupting, adding explanations and answering questions that
11:55were not directed at him.
11:56Who was on the couch?
11:57Her mother was on the couch in the front room, and she was paying this man $300 extra a month
12:02to sleep on that couch, and he was okay with that.
12:05That was a financial benefit for him.
12:07He would love that idea, obviously, or she would not have been there.
12:10Judy repeatedly tells him to stop, even teasing his girlfriend by asking whether she is with
12:15him full time.
12:16Eventually, Judy reaches the end of her patience and tells him she is done.
12:20Fahey, apparently stunned that the talking portion of the program has ended,
12:24questions Judy, and she immediately fires back.
12:28I'm glad.
12:28I'm done.
12:29You're gone.
12:31Goodbye.
12:31You take your case back to the small claims court where it came from.
12:35Do you understand?
12:35No, not seriously.
12:37Super seriously!
12:38Number 22.
12:40Two ladies fighting over a guy.
12:42What do you do for a living?
12:43I'm unemployed right now.
12:45What do you do to occupy your time?
12:47Take care of my family right now.
12:48How do you support yourself?
12:50Well, I actually worked through temp services, but I had an injury on my leg,
12:54so I'm waiting on the call right back.
12:56Destiny says her ex, Xandor, and his new girlfriend, Jasmine, assaulted her and threw
13:01a brick through her car window.
13:02The case quickly becomes less about the damaged vehicle and more about the romantic triangle.
13:07Judy learns that Xandor is unemployed, lives with his mother, has a child with Jasmine,
13:12and is expecting another.
13:14So your mother supports you?
13:15Kind of, sort of.
13:16What do you mean, kind of, sort of?
13:17Because if I don't have it, then my mom helps me.
13:20Don't you realize how ridiculous this all sounds?
13:22She also discovers that his sister, who has children of her own, is not working either.
13:28Judy cannot understand why Destiny and Jasmine are fighting over a man who has very little
13:32going for him financially.
13:33What's more ridiculous is that the two of you are fighting over him, because this is a case
13:39of an assault, as if he was some sort of a prize.
13:45The contrast between the seriousness of the alleged assault and Judy's incredulity about Xandor makes
13:52this a classic example of her blunt courtroom commentary.
13:56Your mother, the school teacher, has two children who do nothing but stay home and make children
14:02that she supports.
14:03I'm just trying to figure this out.
14:05Number 21.
14:06Marlboro Reds.
14:07Not every legendary Judge Judy moment requires a complex case or a meltdown.
14:12Sometimes, 30 seconds is all it takes.
14:15Judy asks a defendant what brand of cigarettes he had gone out to buy.
14:19He answers, and whatever comes out of his mouth is barely comprehensible to her.
14:23What kind of cigarettes did you buy?
14:25Marlboro Reds.
14:26What?
14:27Marlboro Reds.
14:28Marlboro Reds?
14:29Yep.
14:30Judy, frowning slightly, asks him to repeat himself.
14:33Still nothing comprehensible.
14:36Then, Officer Byrd, stationed loyally at his post, steps in with calm authority.
14:41Marlboro Reds.
14:43Marlboro Reds?
14:44Judy quipped that it must be either her hearing or the defendant's speech.
14:49Without missing a beat, Byrd points to the latter.
14:53It's my hearing or his speech.
14:55It's his speech.
14:56I'm not sure.
14:57Could be either one.
14:59The exchange was over in a flash, but it was the perfect moment of courtroom comedy.
15:03Number 20.
15:05eBay Scammer.
15:06This is one of the more audacious scams ever brought before Judge Judy's court.
15:10Defendant Kelly Filkins is being sued for defrauding an eBay customer.
15:15Mrs. Davenport, what did you purchase at this auction?
15:18We purchased two I-580 cell phones.
15:21For how much?
15:22One was 201.50, and one was 255.56.
15:26Filkins' ad was incredibly misleading.
15:29She was ostensibly selling two cell phones, but the plaintiff tells the judge she was sent
15:34a photo of two phones in the mail instead of the phones themselves.
15:39Once the judge finally susses out what happened here, she takes great pleasure in skewering
15:44Filkins for her ridiculous hustle.
15:46You're a thief!
15:48Outrageous!
15:49She takes the unrepentant defendant to task for everything from being a thief to setting
15:54a bad example for her children.
15:57I'm older, smarter.
15:58If you live to be 120, you're not going to be as smart as I am in one finger.
16:02Number 19.
16:04Suing a grieving mother.
16:05Wendy Moore, the plaintiff in this case, is the definition of heartless.
16:10She's suing the grieving defendant for damages to her car.
16:13These were damages sustained in the accident that killed the defendant's daughter, a teenager
16:19whom the plaintiff's son let drive the car.
16:22So your mom lets you drive the car all the time?
16:24On the property.
16:25Okay.
16:26So you thought there was no problem with that?
16:28Right.
16:28The judge listens to all the facts before unloading on Moore for her callousness and negligence.
16:34You let your 14-year-old son drive the car, he says.
16:37Only on the property.
16:38I don't care if he drives it on the property, if he drives it on Pluto!
16:42He's not permitted to be behind the wheel of a car.
16:44Moore is still unwilling to see how her own behavior led to the deadly accident,
16:49and Judge Judy does her best to illuminate the plaintiff.
16:53It doesn't work, which just makes the judge even angrier.
16:57By the end, the audience is applauding the verbal smackdown.
17:00Moore, there is something very wrong with you, because other than saying to this lady...
17:05Number 18.
17:07You sound like a fool.
17:08The best thing about a litigant who doesn't behave themselves in Judge Judy's courtroom
17:13is knowing they're just asking to be told off.
17:16I don't believe you.
17:18Nobody.
17:19Why?
17:20Yes, why?
17:20Witness Carla Sanchez Lopez sure has a lot to say about a dog attack she didn't even see.
17:26She clearly has her whole speech all planned out, too.
17:29But when she's asked some simple probing questions,
17:33she becomes smug and borderline belligerent.
17:36Instead of answering, Sanchez Lopez starts trying to double-talk the judge.
17:41That's never a smart idea.
17:42She has no picture.
17:43She has no witness.
17:44She has no witness.
17:45Listen to me.
17:45She doesn't have to have a witness.
17:47She knows what she has.
17:48She has her word against hers.
17:49I'm sorry.
17:50You sound like a fool.
17:51By the end, the witness is sputtering out,
17:54only managing schoolyard insults and childish comebacks.
17:57You sound like a fool.
17:59That's your opinion.
18:00No.
18:00My opinion's the only one that counts.
18:03Number 17.
18:04Neighborly Protest
18:05Mia Lorde is a spirited senior citizen who cites Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi as her heroes.
18:12Now, Miss Lorde.
18:13Yes.
18:14I've read your answer.
18:16Yes.
18:17You don't deny that you play this noise.
18:19I do not.
18:19She's been staging a protest of her own against the loud noises coming from a neighbor's home.
18:24Unfortunately, her form of protest is a barrage of loud and high-pitched sounds
18:29that another set of neighbors are now suing her over.
18:33The only way you think that you can get Mr. V-Bot to be quiet
18:38is to make everybody else in the neighborhood suffer a little bit so that they'll all get on his back.
18:44Why?
18:45Lorde is the star of this episode.
18:47Seeing it as a chance to call national attention to her plight.
18:51This case was early in the judge's tenure.
18:53She has a lot more patience for Lorde than she would have later on in the series.
18:57And it's funny to watch how charmed she is by the woman.
19:00I haven't finished my presentation.
19:02You finished.
19:03I haven't.
19:04I haven't.
19:04It's $1,500 and you better stop playing that noise.
19:09I protest.
19:10Number 16.
19:11Moron Mom.
19:12We love Judge Scheindlin because she gets to say all the things we might like to.
19:17When you file the complaint for irreconcilable differences, you listed two children.
19:22Is that right?
19:23Yes.
19:23Two girls?
19:24Yes.
19:25In this case, she finds out that the defendant, Kathleen Kreftmeyer,
19:29decided to tell her six-year-old daughter that her father might not be her biological father.
19:34Kreftmeyer doesn't seem to register that this was stupid, cruel, and terrible parenting on her part.
19:40Why in the world would you tell a six-year-old child that somebody who she believed was her father,
19:47who it turns out is her father, might not be her father?
19:51In fact, she doesn't really seem all that fazed by the judge's disgust with her.
19:55Her dead-eyed stare as Scheindlin tells what a moron she is just makes it all the sweeter to watch
20:01her get what's coming to her.
20:02You're a moron.
20:03Number 15.
20:05Adult Novelties.
20:06There's a list of things we'd never thought we'd hear on Judge Judy.
20:10And this case includes five of them.
20:12What is adult novelty?
20:14Um, we go into homes and hold parties for adults.
20:18After hosting an adult toy party, the defendant didn't return several items she hadn't paid for.
20:24The plaintiff is suing for their return or the value of the items.
20:28She even suggests that one of these items that was returned had been used and not cleaned.
20:33Um, so that may have been used, but we would have appreciated that to have been cleaned up before she
20:37returned it to us.
20:38Judge Judy can't even get too exasperated with this case.
20:42The plaintiff here is incredibly put together, professional, and respectful.
20:46This just makes her matter-of-factly listing out the various adult novelty toys all the funnier.
20:51Order forms, the diving dolphin, good head.
20:55I don't even want to ask for that.
20:57Number 14.
20:58Truth or a Lie.
21:00You wouldn't think Judge Judy would be good with kids.
21:03In this case from the show's series premiere, she is surprisingly gentle with a child named Adam.
21:08You remember that Adam?
21:10Yes.
21:10Want to tell me about it?
21:12Come up here.
21:12The boy was bitten by the defendant's dog, and he's still clearly nervous and distressed by the event.
21:18The judge puts him at ease by testing him.
21:20Does he know the difference between the truth and a lie?
21:23A lie is a story that you make up, and the truth is what happened.
21:27When the judge asks some flattering and leading questions about herself, he picks up what she's putting down.
21:33Now, if I were to tell you that the judge in this case is a young, beautiful woman, would that
21:41be the truth or a lie?
21:43The truth?
21:44Yes.
21:45It's a perfect encapsulation of what makes her so compelling to watch.
21:50Number 13.
21:51Close your mouth, sir.
21:52The defendant can't believe what he's hearing.
21:55Okay, you hit him.
21:56There's no question you hit him.
21:58There's no question you...
21:59I thought he hit me.
22:01No.
22:01For the entire case, Reginald Burkitt's mouth hangs open in silent, offended protest.
22:07How dare anyone suggest he caused this car accident?
22:11He tries to sell a story about the plaintiff's car magically sliding sideways into him.
22:16Clearly, Judge Judy isn't buying his version of events.
22:19In fact, she's so sick of him by the end that she can't even pretend to be nice.
22:24Close your mouth, sir. Just say yes or no. This is the front of your car.
22:27Even if his story made any sense to her, she's so over his overdramatic reactions that she can't help
22:34mock him right to his face.
22:36This is damage to the front end of your car, which hit his car in the rear.
22:43Your car hit his car.
22:45Number 12.
22:47Stoned Guy in Court.
22:48If you're the type who loves smoking that Mary Jane, a courtroom is probably a pretty scary environment
22:54to be in while you're high. However, it seems like that didn't stop this guy from doing just that
22:59during his appearance on Judge Judy.
23:02What do you do for a living, Mr. Scott?
23:04Um.
23:05Um is not an answer.
23:06What do you do for a living, Mr. Scott?
23:08I actually got fired.
23:09Accused of causing damage to a woman's car,
23:12he responds to Judge Judy's interrogations rather nonchalantly,
23:15even saying he didn't understand her questions and that she was, quote,
23:20speaking too fast.
23:21Who do you live with?
23:22Huh?
23:24Who do you live with?
23:28My witness.
23:29He'd be charged $642 by the end of the hearing,
23:32but his smiling and constant laughter shows he might have burned one beforehand.
23:37There's always a place and a time to light some trees up,
23:40but this is certainly not one of them.
23:43Number 11.
23:44Twist Ending.
23:45You Can't Handle the Tooth.
23:47What starts out as a seemingly innocuous case between two dental workers
23:51turns into one of the best whodunits in Judge Judy history.
23:55Are you telling me that there was no physical contact between you and the defendant?
23:58Your Honor, there was no contact at all.
24:01The plaintiff, Kenyatta Owens, attempts to sue the defendant, Angel McDaniel,
24:06after the latter reported inappropriate pictures of the plaintiff that had been posted online.
24:11The case takes a dark turn when it is revealed
24:14that McDaniels suffered injuries after an alleged altercation with Owens.
24:18I don't believe she caused these injuries to herself.
24:21On that day, Judge.
24:22But just when things appear to be going the defendant's way,
24:25the case ends in a twist as Judge Judy realizes that McDaniels is lying.
24:30Do you have a lawsuit pending against Doctor?
24:32I do.
24:33Judgment for the plaintiff in the amount of $5,000.
24:36Remember, the case isn't over until the final drop of the gavel.
24:41Number 10.
24:42Judge Judy throws a paid extra out of her fake audience.
24:45As a member of Judge Judy's studio audience, certain things are expected of you.
24:50You'll have to laugh, sneer, and occasionally even gasp.
24:54However, this paid extra took things a little too far.
24:58Out.
24:59Moments after cracking one of her signature jokes,
25:02Judge Judy found herself locked in an epic stare-down with an audience member.
25:06This bozo was apparently laughing a little too hard,
25:09and it quickly drew the ire of TV's most recognizable judge.
25:13Just go.
25:15Say nothing.
25:15The look on the man's face is priceless,
25:18as he does his best impression of a deer in headlights.
25:21Just because you're an extra doesn't mean you're safe from Judy's justice.
25:27You're welcome.
25:28Number 9.
25:28John Lydon vs. Judge Judy
25:30Not only did John Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten,
25:34punk legend and former frontman of the Sex Pistols,
25:37appear on a 90s episode of Judge Judy, he won.
25:41How and why Lydon ended up on the show is a mystery,
25:44but that didn't stop him from starting his case in an orderly and professional way.
25:49He changed his mind, and he walked out on me that night.
25:54The case involved one of Lydon's former drummers
25:56suing him for breach of contract and assault and battery,
26:00charges that were ultimately dismissed.
26:02In the end, Lydon can't help but crack a joke at the plaintiff's expense
26:06after Judge Judy rules in his favor.
26:08Fairly obvious conclusion.
26:10Number 8.
26:11Sibling rivalry
26:12Can't we all just get along?
26:14These two siblings can't seem to keep their emotions in check
26:18after Judge Judy hands down her verdict.
26:20I will prepare the order.
26:22There's nothing left there.
26:23Well, if there's nothing left, then get a small container.
26:25As they begin to exit the courtroom,
26:27the sister starts hurling insults at her brother.
26:30You won't be in that house either.
26:31Watch.
26:32You won't be in that house.
26:34Whatever, Stacey.
26:35Yeah, whatever.
26:36Laying down a number of hilarious quips in her thick southern drawl,
26:39the sister is a hot mess,
26:41prattling on about Tom's tractor before threatening to bust her brother.
26:45Lost you, dude.
26:47The sister is ultimately escorted out of the room,
26:49leaving her brother and the rest of the courtroom in utter disbelief.
26:54Number 7.
26:54Drunk lady impression
26:56Okay, this one is just weird.
26:58When defendant Dr. Noel Howell is asked to present his case,
27:02he appears to be an intelligent, well-spoken individual.
27:05Her actions became so bizarre, it was hilarious at times, dangerous at times.
27:10However, when Judge Judy asks him to give her an example of the plaintiff's drunken behavior,
27:15things get a little strange.
27:17And she was like,
27:19Why?
27:19The defendant's impression is straight up insane, and begs the question,
27:24has this guy ever seen a drunk person before?
27:27Howell's bizarre impression was so crazy,
27:29we're amazed Judge Judy didn't immediately rule in favor of the plaintiff.
27:34She was?
27:35Yes.
27:35The smoking.
27:37The good antique of ganja.
27:38Number 6.
27:39Rigor mortis stew
27:40Two sisters are in court over car damages,
27:43but this isn't any old case about a car accident.
27:46The defendant, Carol Dettenheim, borrowed her sister's car without asking,
27:51and then had the misfortune to hit a deer.
27:53Now defense is, you should have had better insurance.
27:55Is that your defense?
27:57I thought she had full coverage.
27:59Instead of paying for the damage,
28:01she decided to take lemons and make lemonade.
28:04More accurately,
28:04she made venison out of dead deer.
28:07Plaintiff Eve Dettenheim refused a portion of her sister's venison stew.
28:11She was not interested in this peace offering.
28:14What she called,
28:15Rigor mortis stew.
28:16Carol's more offended by that comment than the fact that she's being sued.
28:22It remains one of the most hilarious things ever said on the show.
28:26Number 5.
28:27Rocket Science
28:28This is a perfect example of why you should never try to defend yourself in court.
28:33Okay, she was crouching down by the pool like, like this, like this.
28:37No.
28:38Yeah.
28:38Defendant Ashley Hunter is accused of pushing her friend into a pool,
28:42ruining her cell phone in the process.
28:44When asked to recount what happened from her perspective,
28:48she wastes no time accidentally admitting her own guilt in the process.
28:52I had no idea she had her iPhone.
28:54I felt awful after it happened.
28:56As if that weren't bad enough,
28:57she then goes on to answer Judge Judy's rhetorical question about rocket science,
29:02proving that she's not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed.
29:05What is rocket science?
29:06Rocket science is when the scientists find out things about space.
29:11It's girls like this that give blondes a bad name.
29:15Number 4.
29:15Guy with 10 kids
29:17The court finds the defendant cringeworthy.
29:20In the span of only a couple of minutes,
29:22this defendant claims to be the father to 10 children,
29:25of which he is uncertain how many mothers there are.
29:28How many?
29:29About four.
29:30About four?
29:30What do you mean about four?
29:31He then goes on to make a horribly misguided joke,
29:34implying that one of the mothers is Judge Judy's daughter.
29:37Finally, he tries to beat Judge Judy at her own game,
29:41quipping,
29:42This might be your show, but this is my episode.
29:44Talk about bold.
29:45In the end, it's Judge Judy who gets the last laugh,
29:48as she scolds the man like he's a misbehaving schoolboy.
29:52Do you understand?
29:54Kind of, yeah.
29:55Good.
29:55Well, perhaps if you stayed in school a little longer
29:58instead of staying out of the bedroom,
30:00you'd understand better.
30:01Number 3.
30:02Tupperware Lady
30:03Karina Roy deserves a special Emmy Award for this performance.
30:06She has a Tupperware cupboard
30:08and she put her arm on one end of that Tupperware cupboard
30:11and with all of her force threw it on me
30:13and I was standing behind her and it landed on me.
30:16She narrates the vicious Tupperware attack
30:18she suffered at the hands of a former roommate
30:20with so much enthusiasm that you almost forget
30:23we're talking about lightweight plastic containers.
30:26Roy, otherwise known as the Tupperware Lady,
30:28wins little favor with the judge.
30:30I go over there and I open it up
30:32and it's kind of on the ground,
30:33so I kneel down and there's my Tupperware.
30:35Either Shindlin really did have more patience back then
30:38or she just knows great TV when she sees it.
30:41Regardless, we're eternally grateful that she lets Roy go
30:44until she tires herself out.
30:47And Anna stood up and said,
30:49hey, and looking directly at me
30:51and said, hey, hey, the babies, the babies.
30:55The fact that she wins the case is kind of a miracle.
30:59Number 2.
31:00Dog in Court
31:01If you're looking for your feel-good moment of the week,
31:04this is it.
31:05This episode focuses on the quarrel
31:06between two people claiming ownership over a lost dog.
31:10I have a document from my vet
31:12and they're saying the dog's a mixed breed
31:15and he's five years old.
31:16The defendant claims to have purchased the dog
31:18from a woman on the street,
31:20while the plaintiff maintains that the dog was his
31:22and that it had simply run away a few days earlier.
31:26However, when Judge Judy demands
31:27that the dog be brought into the courtroom,
31:29it quickly becomes apparent who the real owner is.
31:35Yes, there's you!
31:37Yes, baby boy!
31:38While Judge Judy is known for handing out justice,
31:42it is rarely this satisfying or adorable.
31:45That's all.
31:46Take the dog home.

32:14Quick, what's the defendant's job during a court case?
32:18If you answered to plead their innocence,
32:20congratulations, you're already smarter than this guy.
32:23After a teenage girl claims
32:25that the defendant stole her wallet,
32:27Judge Judy asks her to list what was inside the wallet
32:30at the time of the theft.
32:31I had gift cards in there,
32:33my earpiece, and a calculator.
32:36When she mentions that the wallet contained an earpiece,
32:38one of the defendants is quick to point out
32:41that there was no earpiece in the wallet,
32:43thus proving that he stole it.
32:45There was no earpiece in the mail.
32:47I love it.
32:48I love it.
32:49This has got to be the easiest verdict
32:51Judge Judy has ever delivered.
32:54Goodbye.
