00:14excited it's that time of the year again where we are running the annual good good giving competition
00:21it's good in so many ways because your generous donation gets you into the competition the other

02:45okay sure hot and humid um summer has hit us hard um a little bit of rain the other day

02:56is just pumped up the humidity but we're trying to get these enrichment walks done early because
03:05if you leave it too late the lions don't have any energy never mind the lions i don't have any
03:13energy
03:13be huffing and puffing um trying to follow them around george and yummy out and about uh having a
03:23having a blast these two really really do enjoy
03:27their walks um two of the younger lions in the sanctuary i can't believe i'm saying that because
03:33they are coming on 12. hello boy

04:29See how tentatively Yame walks in, the reason being is because when a lion like George has
04:38found some poopoo that he's got possession over he can become very possessive and very aggressive
04:46and so you'll see now he's been very calm today but look how tentative Yame is there's the respect
04:54I always talk about it I talk about the possession is nine tenths of the law
05:00and this is a perfect demonstration that Yame has been all very respectful of Mr. Georgie
05:09who's now rolling away and having an absolute blast loving the poopoo oh yeah
05:37and then like that is over and maybe Mr. Big having waited patiently will be able to have a go
05:53yep Yame's turn except now this time we're going to get a butt to the camera not a problem
06:02guys they had the same kind of neglectful beginning in life
06:08same poor diet just one fared genetically he fared worse than his brother
06:19and we look at that lion he's just so beautiful look at that muscle I mean that is insane
06:30his thighs touch together you can literally put your finger on that inner thigh his adductors are very very strong
06:42there's a lot of meat here and here although he has lost a little bit of weight here
06:49you're not a not as young as you used to be my boy
07:09okay this is one of the favorite stopovers it's to come to the hyena camp
07:15and give the hyenas a
07:20a teasing gets the hyenas all excited which is not a bad thing gets everyone up in arms
07:33and then once they've had their fun they simply move on
07:41how can we deny George his excitement
07:48what's super cool about George and Yame as well guys is that they really do consider me part of their
07:54pride we do everything together if I don't come when they start walking they come back and get me
08:03it's really cool to to see we saw that this morning when I was uh filming with the drone
08:09and uh I was hanging about the vehicles and they would walk away from the vehicles
08:14and then they would come back and say hey are we going on this walk or what so it is
08:19really really um
08:20um it's really nice to the feeling you know of being accepted into the group uh but that's obviously
08:30yeah it is uh 12 years guys 12 years of uh relationship nurturing that's got us to this point
08:38you don't just step into a lion's life and become part of it overnight same as you just you don't
08:45step
08:45into a human's life and become part of it overnight relationships take time to build and in seconds
08:50that the trust can be broken so it's a continuous thing there's no guarantees and for sure there's no
08:57right so um you know I never ever sit here and say it's my right to be able to be
09:03here with these lines
09:05and to walk with these lines it's not my right it's an absolute privilege so I never ever take that
09:11for
09:11granted um trust me in all these years 27 odd years working with lines there's not one day that I
09:18arrive here and I go oh this is you know I've earned this this right to be here with these
09:22lines it's not
09:23like that at all every um moment I spend with the lines is an absolute privilege all right guys so

09:31that you really need to do uh to get your name in the hat to enter the good good giving

09:36is donate it's really that simple and your donation every cent of the donation goes into
09:43the conservation causes that the krf gets behind that includes all the anti-poaching causes that we
09:51support snare removal the helicopter flights that are so desperately needed in many of these remote parts
09:57as well as um you know the education of the communities and upliftment and uh yeah not forgetting
10:04protecting uh the habitat in which these beautiful animals exist so guys if you've ever wanted to
