00:01This trial has heard today from David Allen, Allen Jones' butler of 18 and a half years,
00:09someone who worked closely with him at his circular key home, the toaster.
00:13The 79-year-old has been called to court to give evidence today in Allen Jones' criminal trial,
00:18a trial where he's pleaded not guilty to 21 counts of indecent assault
00:22and of sexual touching involving five complainants.
00:26Now Mr Allen was asked to describe his time with Allen Jones.
00:30He says there was a cavalcade of sports stars and famous people who came through the toaster apartment
00:37that he cooked for and he cleaned for.
00:40Among the sports stars he said visited Allen Jones in the early 2000s was Complainant M,
00:46a prominent athlete who we've heard from already in this case.
00:49David Allen was asked how Allen Jones would greet Complainant M
00:54and he described it as a slap on the bottom before going on to say he probably shouldn't say that
01:00in a case like this, but describing the slap as something that sportsmen often did to one another.
01:07This witness gave evidence about cooking for Allen Jones, about doing chores for him,
01:13about even ironing his underwear, buying his suits and getting him the very best of fabrics.
01:19The butler was asked several times whether or not he saw anything inappropriate,
01:24either towards the complainants mentioned in this case
01:27or towards any of the young athletes that he said Mr Jones entertained at his home.
01:32He repeatedly said he did not see anything inappropriate.
01:36It is week eight of this lengthy trial for Allen Jones
01:39and it is about to take a break with the court being told this afternoon
01:43that the next witness is not available until the 6th of October.
