00:02Complainant A is being grilled about the extent of financial support that he and his mother
00:07received from Alan Jones over several years.
00:11The court has already heard that Complainant A was 13 when he first wrote to the broadcaster
00:16Alan Jones, then the TGB breakfast host, and asked for assistance for his struggling mother.
00:22The court has heard that Alan Jones assisted in getting the woman's mortgage refinanced
00:27and assisted in having $600,000 wiped off her loan.
00:31He also paid more than $100,000 of his own money to assist with the family's building costs and legal
00:39fees.
00:40Now the court has been shown several emails that Complainant A sent to Alan Jones over the years
00:45containing invoices where he sent Mr Jones an invoice and asked for payment in return.
00:52He was asked by Mr Jones' lawyers,
00:55It's the case, wasn't it, that you were intent on obtaining as much financial assistance from Mr Jones as you
01:01possibly could.
01:02Complainant A said that that wasn't true.
01:04He was also asked whether it was the case that his mother had the intention of obtaining as much financial
01:09assistance as she could,
01:11and he said that that was a lie.
01:13Complainant A has already told the court that he was asking Mr Jones for assistance with his financial struggles,
01:19and the court has been shown emails where Alan Jones said that he was happy to help.
01:25The allegations are that after this financial assistance was exchanged,
01:29that Mr Jones invited this man, then a 17-year-old and a schoolboy, to his Fitzroy Falls property,
01:36where it's alleged that he kissed this boy and touched him on his backside.
01:40The boy said that he told Alan Jones to stop.
01:44He pushed him away and said goodnight.
01:46Mr Jones has pleaded not guilty to that charge as well as 20 other charges of indecent assault and sexual
01:54touching in this trial related to five complainants.
