Thick haze trigger flight cancellations at Indonesia airport
Flights to and from Tjilik Riwut Airport in Central Kalimantan are cancelled due to thick wildfire haze. "We received letters from almost all airlines at this airport stating that they would not operate until September 26th," says Andi Wiguna, public relations officer of Tjilik Riwut airport. Indonesia has been battling fires across Borneo, Sumatra and Papua for weeks, with smoke worsening air quality at home and in neighboring Malaysia and Singapore.
