00:00Akamai is landing a massive AI infrastructure deal with Anthropic worth nearly $12 billion over seven years.
00:07The agreement will give Anthropic more compute capacity for its AI workloads and could ultimately expand to roughly $20 billion.
00:14Bloomberg Intelligence Global Head of Tech Research Mandeep Singh joins us.
00:17And as always, even though Anthropic isn't public yet, it's still moving around public companies.
00:22Tell us about this deal, Mandeep, and what we know.
00:24Well, we know NVIDIA has been locking all the capacity on the chip side, prepaying the likes of TSMC and
00:34their suppliers.
00:36It feels like Anthropic is doing the same when it comes to their supply chain.
00:41And in this case, they want to get more CPU and edge capacity by signing a seven-year deal.
00:46We know they signed a deal with SpaceX to get the GPU compute.
00:51And look, with agentic AI and I think the success of Muse, it's pretty obvious that all these frontier model
01:01labs want to go towards more agentic offerings.
01:04And if you have an agentic offering, you need more CPU capacity.
01:09And that's where, you know, Akamai or Fastly or, you know, all these companies in the CDN space come in
01:16in terms of supplying that edge and CPU capacity.
01:19So that's really the rationale here.
