00:00The creamiest dessert you'll ever taste. Look at this beauty with that crunch.
00:05They call it crema catalana, although in many places they call it natillas.
00:10What do you call it? You know the drill, let's get into the comments.
00:14First up, milk 500 milliliters of milk, which is two cups.
00:19Pour it into a saucepan or a pot, whatever you prefer.
00:23We're going to infuse it with a cinnamon stick.
00:27Ah, in it goes. And the peel of a lemon too.
00:33Remove the white pith because it's bitter. In that goes too.
00:37We'll set this over low heat for about 10 minutes.
00:41Meanwhile, we're going to use four egg yolks for color and flavor,
00:45which we'll pour into a large bowl like this one. Here's where we'll make the mixture.
00:50We'll need 150 grams of sugar, extra sweet,
00:54but it also works with 100 grams. Don't worry, with a little less, it turns out just as good.
01:00But for extra sweetness, go with 150. We'll add 25 grams of cornstarch,
01:06which is two tablespoons cornstarch, which some people mistakenly call corn flour.
01:11We mix it really well with a hand whisk, give it some elbow grease for 20 to 25 seconds,
01:17and an orange paste will form just like this. The milk is beautifully infused. Fantastic! It smells
01:25amazing and now we are going to pour it over. Time! We place a strainer to remove the lemon peel
01:32and the cinnamon stick, just in case it breaks later during cooking and ruins this wonder.
01:39Mix well. As soon as you have it like this, it'll be ready.
01:45Back into the saucepan, the pot where you are preparing this wonder, inside, and cook over low
01:50heat for five minutes stirring constantly until you get something that looks like this, what you have
01:56right here. Here! Look at that cream! Now you just have to divide it into individual servings, though mine are
02:06massive. They're fit for a T-Rex. Give it a swirl, we just wait for it to cool down, and
02:12now sugar,
02:13a heaping spoonful of sugar, there it is, and we're going to torch it using a blow torch or a
02:18hot iron,
02:19just the way you like it, with burnt caramel. Or with cinnamon. You tell me, you know, write to me
02:27in
02:27the comments, I read them all. Crema Catalana, the creamiest dessert you can put in your mouth,
02:34it's so good. Look at that crunchy top and that fantastically smooth sweet interior. You have to
02:42make it! Snip, snap, who can top that? This dessert is wonderful, and besides, super easy and ready in
02:50just five little minutes. Wow!
