04:57think the secondary had a great game but they had a couple of great moments there were a couple of
05:01really nice passes that were defended knocked away uh and i think a previous caller mentioned it
05:06too the jets receivers came up with some amazing receptions they really did probably a handful that
05:12you're like i i didn't think they were going to come up with that play so the pressure rate right
05:16your your your pressure rate is a direct reflection of you know how many drop because quarterback sacks
05:23could be a a function of the other teams throwing a lot and so you get more opportunities more volume
05:30in terms of pass rush and you could have a a higher number of quarterback sacks so pressure rates
05:37important because it takes into account you know how many how often are you pressuring a quarterback
05:41on drop backs the lions pressure rate according to uh pro football reference is 22.1 percent
05:48which is eighth in the nfl so they are doing a decent job of of pressuring opposing quarterbacks
05:59and which can lead to turnovers and can lead to incompletions and they are yeah second in the nfl
06:05quarterback sacks which is it seems like if they don't get the sack though to give up a big play
06:10in the
06:10secondary that's the issue even if the quarterback is under some some pressure doug and and i wouldn't
06:16champ the secondary either gator they did come up with the play that sealed the game and they have
06:21their moments but the fact is the line secondary gives up the most passing yards in the entire
06:28league and the defense as a whole is giving up more points than anyone else in the entire league
06:33three weeks through the season and as far as that last play and the celebration like saving shepherd's
06:39job i don't know if it did that but they kind of celebrated like it did that you know what

06:42it was like a huge exhale like yes like you made the call we made the play the game's over
06:50so you know we can wallow in what they didn't do and certainly we'll continue to take phone calls and
06:55people talk about what they didn't do in the offseason to address the defense and it's fair
07:00the truth is the defense just has to do enough to win the damn game and they you know i

07:23is their strength and they they played to that strength and iowa goes right down to field and scores
