00:01there are also only two other full-time starters this year that haven't thrown an interception
00:06along with jared goff knock on wood can you name them two full-time starters other full-time
00:12starters other guys have done it but they've you know 45 passes or started two games or whatever
00:18you know right but you're talking about the full-time start yeah uh kang any guesses i'll
00:22bring you in on this too which other full-time starters have not thrown an interception this
00:26year along with golf i'd just be guessing honestly yeah fair enough daniel jones no uh i'll just tell
00:33you uh cj stroud and geno smith are the two others that have not thrown a pick this year um
00:40but but
00:41their teams don't have good records right uh no so no they do not done they haven't thrown a pick
00:49although the jets nice one for the jets over cleveland and who would have said that at the
00:55beginning of the year in a quite right in a quagmire i mean it just just did not stop raining
00:59yesterday in new york but uh i yeah i root for aaron glenn man yeah i do too i like
01:04aaron glenn a lot
01:06uh time for our champion champion nomination skater my champion of the weekend as the aforementioned
01:10roger mccreary who tied a lions franchise record with six pass breakups look better in man coverage
01:16wasn't perfect but it was good to see my champion of the weekend yeah he was impressive and you kind
01:20of take your pick on defense if you wanted to dj reed had three tackles for loss in the past
01:25breakup
01:25as well so that was nice my champ is gonna be michigan state running back jazz patterson
01:29had over 100 yards in offense and four touchdowns including three on the ground in the overtime loss
01:35to illinois and proven they can handle the running back load with edwards out jess patterson did a
01:41really nice job uh my jump on the weekend they played for a draw like a soccer team so i'm
01:47going
01:47fc washington what the hell which by the way is my chump too yeah what the hell was that dan
01:54quinn
01:56uh i don't know what you're thinking just not kicking it once you're in field goal range just
01:59do it it's the end of the game it's not you the ball doesn't go back to the giants you've
02:04each had
02:04a couple of turns of the there with with the uh possession you you would if you would just
02:10kicked it it was like a 42 yard field goal just kick it what are you trying to close some
02:15i guess
02:16because zavada had missed some but i you know god man no zavada's the other team i bet uh at
02:22the end
02:22of the day i always find the nfl tie hilarious it is and this might be the funniest of them
02:28all
02:29it is it is funny and uh who's the game last night i've got all these games are kind of
02:34blending in
02:34atlanta and baltimore atlanta baltimore so that one goes to overtime right yeah and baltimore uses up
02:40like seven minutes of the overtime i mean it was amazing what they're gonna run this whole
02:46overtime out and score in the last play but they ended up eating up uh like seven and a half
02:52minutes
02:52before turning the ball over to the uh to atlanta but they had scored and won the game but yeah
02:57fun
02:57nfl weekend fun college football weekend and not so fun in other respects 248-539-9797 let's go to
03:05troy in grand rapids here on 97 one hello troy hey guys i got a champion trump of the week
03:11sure
03:13i got my champ is uh matt lefleur uh i think his that win really kind of kept his got
03:20him off the
03:21hot seat and then before people were kind of calling for his head then he went with the packers
03:26yeah the fans are booing in green bay before yeah yeah they took care of business for the pack or
03:30the
03:31the bears my chump of the week nick sirianni i mean what are you kicking the ball for
03:37in inbounds you know just all you got to do is kick in the end zone the the game's basically
03:42over
03:42they got to just throw a hill mary that's another dumb one yeah right i'd be i'd if i was
03:47a philly
03:47fan that's a former line amir abdullah with the return taking it out to the 40 it was great
03:52right and that's easy for the best you got the best leg in the nfl so weird that's it yep
03:59thank
04:00you troy champion jump brought to you by sarah chevrolet sterling heights 248-539-9797 let's go
04:06to john in sterling heights here on 97 one hello john morning i had a comment about something but
04:13just because you're doing champion jump i will give uh the punter my champ from that wonderful punt
04:19and watching jaron goff pointing at him was absolutely fabulous give him some credit
04:25fox yeah punter fox is a man um and he's very and a very nice looking gentleman also um that
04:34being said
04:35i don't know what the deal is with uh campbell i think i just have to accept it but i
04:42thought he
04:42would dial it down a little bit with the fourth downs um maybe this is just who he is it's
04:48been what
04:49six years and this is what we're gonna get but i'm it's yeah i mean i'm driving my hands on
04:54the
04:54head i'm pulling my hair right now i'm not really sure how to express this but i just i just
04:59i don't
04:59know i just don't think he can i just don't think i think they'll be good for a long time
05:05but i think
05:06if you keep doing these bones it's gonna bite you in the ass again man i just really i don't
05:11know
05:11what do you guys think well you know it's interesting it's probably his best day as far as fourth down
05:15calls are concerned because they went four for four and scored three touchdowns on fourth downs
05:19which is one hell of a percentage um i did during the game did i want him to kick field
05:26goals at
05:27one time in particular yes yeah it was one i definitely wanted to kick a field goal but
05:31without the first one i mean the first one they went for it it's at the arizona 47 you're like
05:37are
05:37you really doing this but they had three three and outs and turn the gamer like after that floodgates
05:42yeah he's looking for a spark of some kind and then the team's just not getting it done he's like
05:47you know what guys i believe in you let's go fourth and three and then goff completes that pass to
05:52laporta and that was a tight window when laporta gets blasted and hangs on to it tack on another 15
05:58because of the the hit to laporta that got the ball rolling if they don't go for it in that
06:03situation
06:04who knows what would have happened last night yeah look um is it who he is is it part of
06:10his dna
06:11i mean it is there's no question that dude just it's it's one of those things that
06:16i think it's part of what makes him good and it's also a vulnerability because there's a stubbornness
06:23to it and there's no question that i first guessed it yesterday but that first fourth down first of all
06:30that was not his first read the first read was amenra and he and he worked his way through his
06:35progressions and found and found laporta secondly tight window as you mentioned third huge catch
06:43to get hit now the hit might have resulted in the first down anyway uh being at the unnecessary
06:49roughness but it it was weird because up until that point nothing they had done nothing and then
06:58they were unstoppable for the next seven possessions look you go for it fourth and one at the 37 you
07:03know
07:03they're going to go for it that's just what they do fourth and four at the eight yard line
07:08and i think most lions fans like just kick it just kick it just kick it just kick it they're
07:12like no
07:13we're going for it and he throws a touchdown to to jamo in the back of the end zone nice
07:17touch on that
07:18pass by by golf and it's like if you don't accept this is what they are and what they do
07:23at this point
07:24then i guess you never will um but you probably should it shouldn't surprise you a ton this is lions
07:30football this is this is exactly what they do and they were going to do it again before halftime and
07:36i was like what you think they were trying to get them off yeah i think they were trying i
07:40hope that's
07:40the case because that was the only time well not the only thing there were a couple that i said
07:43like the fourth and four at the eight i'm like you're going to kick it right they didn't and then
07:47this one at the end of the half i thought you've got to just get points man they're gifting you
07:52an
07:52opportunity to get points take them take them take them and uh they were able to get the penalty and
07:58or and then kick the field goal anyway because it was their own false start yes and then as far
08:03as special teams are concerned the lions were plus 12 in terms of their average starting field
08:10position the lions average starting field position was their own 36 the cardinals average starting
08:15field position was their own 24 and yes jack fox had a lot to do with that four punts two
08:21inside
08:21the 20 the one downed inside the five late but but yeah the special teams were really good
08:26the return game the punt returners averaged 18 and 16 and a half yards per punt return
08:32and now in amin ra and tom kennedy yeah they had a couple of nice returns there for sure um
08:38how the lions scored 45 points going four for 13 on third down well that's a test maker because
08:45you're going four for four on fourth down that's what happens uh all right if you think that dan
08:49campbell if you're worried that they're thinking they've turned a corner and they're going to rest
08:56on their lores here a little bit he had an interesting comment after the game yesterday we'll play it for
09:00you today at 10 50 plus champion jump calls phone uh champion chump nominations phone calls and feedback
09:06what does this win mean how do you put it into perspective it's karshan anderson 97 one
09:12and there's a lot of great things you don't want to get into this game so let's go ahead and
09:12see you
