00:24We had some Airbnb-ers here. They were saved by a boat, and then we had some Airbnb down there,
00:31and they were saved by a truck.
00:32I don't think that people were actually expecting what they had forecast, which is typical.
00:38The end of the side streets downtown, we had probably five to six feet of water.
00:42More than 90 people were rescued in Seabright over the weekend by boat and high-water rescue trucks, including Eric
00:49Bischoff, a former firefighter who just built a home near the Shrewsbury River.
00:54Twenty minutes later, I checked outside, and there was close to three feet of water. My car was submerged, and
01:00we had to be rescued from the house that quick.
01:03They're the firemen of the heroes. They're the heroes. We got out by boat.
01:06I'm a retired fireman. I'm used to doing the rescuing, and today I was rescued.
01:10This is probably one of the worst we've seen in years.
01:12It's real, you know. You've got to get your cars to higher ground. You've got to get stuff up in
01:16the air.
01:17You've got to make sure you have your supplies. It's real. And then when you're in here, you're not getting
01:21out.
01:22The water line left behind shows where two to three feet of water seeped into some of these garages and
01:28homes.
01:28The insurance claims are already starting to pile up, and some local residents are worried about the state of their
01:35beaches and dunes
01:36that protect these coastal neighborhoods.
01:38They spent $20 million, and it makes me sad, but you can't rule Mother Nature.
01:47Many shore towns now have less protection going into the rest of nor'easter season, following a summer without a
01:53single tropical threat.
