00:11And one of the activities I would advise my students upon returning was to pick up two
00:19or three different scriptures and find out how the different verses or parables are pointing
00:30at the same thing.

00:32And it was fascinating because one didn't have to force fit anything.
00:38So something being said by somebody in China 5th century BC turns out so very similar to
00:51something being said by somebody in Iran 17th century AD.
00:59Something being said in the Vedic period in India is something very similar to what is
01:08being said by the Greek philosophers around the same time, a little later than that.
01:12And that is pleasure and surprise of a different kind to experience, which basically means that
01:20presences will obviously and always have differences.
01:28A is present and B is present and A will necessarily be different compared to B.
01:36But absences are always the same.
01:40All religious literature, all truly religious literature comes from absences.
01:46And that's the reason you find somebody speaking in the 5th century before Christ, saying the
01:57same thing as somebody who spoke a thousand years after Christ and 10,000 km away.
02:04Because absences are all the same.
02:08But presences, there will always be conflict.
02:12My belief versus your belief, my God versus your God, all these are positive constructs.
02:18And positive constructs will always quarrel with each other.
02:22Only absences will happily coexist 0 equals 0.
