00:01I love y'all. I couldn't do it without that team over there and
00:06Shannon thank you so much. You are a powerful woman that I
00:12admire and look up to so much. It's amazing and a dream to be
00:16under your wings. So thank you so much for that. Wow. And thank
00:20you to my Warner Brothers family. I brought my my little napkin
00:24cuz I I get emotional. I'm gonna tell you now and I am used
00:28to singing and not having to speak so much but Ramin and
00:35Cynthia and Daya I wanna say thank you to you and the entire
00:40team at Variety for this prestigious honor and honoring
00:44so many amazing women in the room that has inspired me. It is
00:49an honor to be in you all's company. Now guys I've been
00:53blessed to do a lot in my life and I've chased a lot of
00:58dreams and I'm still chasing them. Yes I am. Okay. So when
01:05I pursued a dream of hosting my own talk show I knew it would
01:10be new but I don't think I could have ever prepared myself for
01:15the amazing adventure that it has been and it will continue to
01:20be you know. I have laughed and I have cried and I learned a
01:26lot about myself, about people, and about the world. At the end
01:34of the day this show has reinforced that people are good.
01:40there are still great people in the world and we're sitting
01:43amongst a bunch of them right here today and that's the goal
01:47to me of of the Jennifer Hudson show and the mission every
01:51day. I always noticed growing up coming from the south side of
01:54Chicago back when we had the Julian D King South Side is in
01:58here foundation. You know my mother used to say idle hands is a
02:03devil's workshop and my sister and I noticed like in our
02:07communities the only thing that ever got attention was
02:10negativity. So our mission was always to highlight and
02:14accentuate the positive and that is what we strive to do at
02:19the Jennifer Hudson show each and every day and I have a team
02:21of people sitting right here at the table so I have to send
02:23them a special shout out. But that brings me to power. Power is
02:29an interesting idea. I think we've been taught to shy away
02:34from embracing power. We are told to be strong, never told to
02:41be powerful, but power can be good and the right hands power
02:48can change the world for the better as we know, right guys?
02:54Yes. And what better hands than those of a woman? Can we get
03:03an applause for that? Okay. Now power can open doors, create a
03:11seat at the table, build a platform, protect a neighbor, and lift a
03:16voice. So I am honored to be in a room where we're celebrating
03:22power, good power. Okay. And the extra thing I want to say
03:29is, you know, we always say we want to make a change, but I
03:32want to add, make a good change because we know change can be
03:35for the bad too, but we want to use our power to make a
03:38change for the good. At least I know do. How about y'all? We
03:44want power that leads to creativity, collaboration,
03:48opportunity, power that can open the door for the next. For
03:54the same reason that I started my foundation, sometimes the
03:58right people just need the right support, right? So I know
04:05y'all hear me over there. So I thank you for the support you
04:11all have given me through the years. Being a dreamer, you know,
04:15it's nothing like that. All I need is just a little bit of
04:18encouragement and y'all can send me on and I'm gonna go
04:21forth. Okay. And that's how I've been blessed to get this
04:23far through all your love and support. So I want to say thank
04:25you to each and every one of you who've always instilled in
04:28me, believed in me, trusted me, and allow me to be standing
04:32here in front of you amazing people. I promise to continue my
04:36mission of returning that same love for others. But now I have
04:41learned to always say and always say this to yourself, be
04:46powerful and be good. Thank you variety. Thank you
