00:00The whole contract situation with him, it could affect him.
00:02That is possible that it could affect him, right?
00:05Deuce is an expiring contract, and with the edict under James Dolan
00:09to stay under the second apron, they really probably can't give him
00:11a big contract this summer, and someone probably will.
00:14Someone probably will see him as a starter-type player
00:17who is worth $14 million, $15 million a year, perhaps.
00:20Maybe more, maybe a little less, but starter money,
00:22not seventh man or sixth man money.
00:25So do the Knicks want to look at Miles McBride as someone
00:29who can bring in a better backup big
00:31and someone who can be a contributor, and they love Deuce.
00:35It's not like they're looking creative.
00:37He's someone that they love.
00:38Mike Brown loves him. His teammates love him.
00:40He's ultra-dependable off the bench.
00:42He's a great shooter. He's a great defender.
00:44He's tough. He fits everything that this team is.
00:47It's just the reality of this second apron era
00:50is that you have to make sacrifices on the roster at times.
00:54You have to pick, and you have to prioritize
00:56which stars and which starters come first.
00:59And right now, there's multiple guys
01:01in terms of contract extensions that would come first.
